The hotel is simple, the rooms spacious and clean. The the staff is very cordial. Great option for artsy people. It is located in a quiet part of town which is also a plus, only 2-3 miles away form downtown Austin. I enjoyed my stay there.

We loved The Highlander, we had one small issue but the staff took care of it right away. Breakfast was great for on the go. Not alot of bells and whistles, but we didn't need that, we wanted a comfortable, clean place to stay at a reasonable price. We will stay here again.

I hardly have words. For under $100/nt, I didn't have much in the way of expectations ... a bed to sleep in, mostly. Got more than I bargained for. First, this is NOT a place for families/people with kids. Don't get me wrong, it doesn't advertise itself as such, but as someone who has stayed in at least a hundred... More

jenjenut233, I am sorry about your recent stay. This building is over 30 years old and because we only have 2 floors we do not have an elevator or have room to install one. If we did, we certainly would. The curtains in the room are black out grade curtains. I am sorry about the noisy neighbors. We do have... More

Big rooms. Friendly Staff. I found this hotel and was able to book it at the last minute for a business trip. My room was on the 1st floor and it had a sliding glass door to the parking lot. I liked being able to park right outside my room, but it would be really awesome if they could find... More

Upon arrival the girl at the desk couldn't work their computer systems so she had to get help. It took about 20 mins to get checked in but she was very nice and offered me a water while I waited. Shortly after unloading our bags, I laid down exhausted from our drive and lifted my phone to send a text... More

Cody R, I am very sorry about the circumstances that went down during your stay here. I apologize for the insects. As you may know this is an older property and we are doing our best to take care of that issue. The popcorn is a treat we provide for our guests when they arrive at the hotel after their... More

We stayed here just one night but it was a nice hotel. I didn't have. A hence to try the breakfast because we slept in. The room was very clean. I love the decor of the place. The purple sheep is awesome. Just FYI they do give. A military or veterans discount but you have to book through the hotel... More

We had a wonderful two-night stay at the Highlander Hotel as part of a cross-country trip. We stayed in hotels within the same price range the entire trip, but the Highlander Hotel was one of my favorites. It’s clear they remodeled an old, worn-out hotel, but they pulled it off beautifully. It’s imaginative, modern, and sleek, with fun and soothing... More

We found this place by accident and so glad we did. Very unique concept, friendly staff, CLEAN environment, and reasonably priced. We will definitely be back to stay. No complaints at all during the stay.

You could get by without one, but a car makes it much easier to enjoy the neighborhood this hotel sits in, or to make the short drive downtown. You will also want a navigator sitting next to you to get here from wherever you're coming from as it's a bit tucked away. But on to the hotel part. I got... More

A friend and I stayed at this hotel for weekend in May. Like most hotels not downtown, a car is definitely needed. Nice updated hotel with quirky pink sheep. Unfortunately no pool, but we made do with the many outdoor lakes, trails, ect Austin has to offer (roughly 10 - 20 min drive, not in rush hour). I loved the... More
