Good staff, nice people. Near to the downtown. The only thing missing is the open space inside the Hostel which is something I prefer in this kind of places but the rest it was ok! Near to place to eat and buy beers!

The location is near the University of Texas - Austin. This means plenty of fun bars to walk to. I walked downtown from here which took about 40 minutes and was enjoyable. I felt safe. I also made the same walk back to the hostel at night and felt equally as safe. The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms...

Drifter Jack's had a quaint and cosy atmosphere, there didn't seem to be an enormous crowd in the hostel but those that I did meet were friendly and sociable. There's plenty to the location, it's right beside the university and has plenty of nice food places nearby. I typically walked downtown, probably takes about 40 minutes but is quite nice...

The hostel is located right next to the University and so has fun routes to explore right around the hostel. I brought my car so I had an easy time getting around Austin. There was plenty of public transport (buses) if you don't bring a car. The pub crawl was lots of fun and the staff were all knowledgable and...

Stayed here back in august 2016 as part of a trek America group. I've looked over other reviews of this place and it's mostly on spot. This place has a great atmosphere - when busy - offering a large area for drinks, pool and fun. However when busy this place also offers some security risk . where we had no...

I'm currently backpacking on a budget and Drifter Jack's was one of the best places I've stayed at thus far. Very friendly staff (seem to have a genuine concern for the well being of their guests) and the hostel attracts a great group of young travelers. A bunch of us got together one evening to hop between the bars around...

stayed here as a solo female traveler for 4 nights in Dec. The location was great right by the University, which meant there was always lots of people out and about in the streets and lots of very close great options for food. Easily accessible to pretty much all of Austin by the bus system, which is quite good. Staff...

First of all, the location is great (close to shops, bars and buses), the staff for the most part were very friendly, hospitable, talkative and full of good tips. The hostel is also quite small, so it really did feel like a small community which is nice. The rooms also appeared to be clean, and some of the artwork (both...

This was my second stay here in 6 months and yet again I was made to feel incredibly welcome from the moment I stepped in the doors. As a solo female traveller I felt immediately at ease and not once felt unsafe. The staff are wonderful and are always ready to help with navigating the city, things to do, places...

Really quirky hostel, no complaints about the staff whatsoever. We stayed here for 3 nights and it was pretty awesome. The guys who we dealt with working there were great Ethan and Chris (I think). They were lovely and really welcoming we arrived after a long day exploring Houston so we were pretty tired. After a pretty heavy night out...
