Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.
Powered by AI
Lone Star Court delights guests with its spacious and stylish rooms that boast a unique Texas charm, though there are mentions of damp and poorly-lit spaces, accompanied by noise complaints. The service at the hotel earns high marks, with staff members like Winnie, David, and Jazz receiving special recognition for their attentiveness. Nestled in a prime location, the hotel offers tranquility alongside convenient access to local sights. While the vibrant atmosphere with live music and retro decor is a highlight, some guests feel the value is diminished by overpriced amenities and unexpected charges.

The staff was awesome throughout the stay. Front desk greeted us with a smile and checked us in quickly. The room was very clean and had all the amenities as mentioned. Went to the bar/restaurant- the staff was efficient even though it was crowded. The food and spirits were great. The courtyard and fireplace was very peaceful. Definitely returnning

Just the most amazing place to stay, with great atmosphere, facilities, and food. The hospitality was especially wonderful. We came for our wedding night, but will stay here again even with family in the area!

If you love retro design, spending time outdoors on rocking chairs, eating delicious food on cafe tables with fires, listening to a live band provided on site in the weekends, being within walking distance to the domain and food trucks, riding bicycles provided by the hotel, and being in such a relaxed environment that you forget you are in a big city, this is the place for you! The fine touches of the welcoming candle smell, to the gift basket of food and drinks in the fridge as well as s’more kits (all extra if you use it), make this a special place to hang. We were fortunate to get to hear some guests playing their cellos too. This is unique and special! I will totally book this place again!!! Great for a date night or traveling with kids.

This room was really awful. When I first entered I thought it was quaint and interesting. I stayed three nights and it was the worst three night I have had in a long time. The bed was saggy. The room was super musty. I wouldn’t be surprised if the ventilation system had mold all over in it. The super musty system wreaked havoc on my sinuses and I have been sick with a sinus infection for three days (which is when I am writing this review, hopefully I won’t have this infection much longer). The room had a tray of snacks and a fridge of drinks which again was quaint when arriving but I put them away and didn’t touch them. The fridge was super loud at night and after it woke me up a few times I had to unplug it. After checking out the hotel tried to charge us for drinking an alcoholic drink and a box of cracker jacks, which was nearly $40!! We touched no such thing. We don’t even drink alcohol. They refunded the charge after we called and complained. Be aware this can happen. When returning home all of our clothes, luggage, even our cables, smelled super musty and have had to wash and air out everything. Seriously the worst hotel experience I have had in a long time.

We looked at a lot of wedding venues in Austin, TX including hotels, gardens, clubhouses, and event spaces, we even put a deposit down on another before we found Lone Star Court. Lone Star Court checked a lot of the boxes we wanted: location, bar, food, hotel, charm, and central gathering spot. Location: in the Domain – which has shopping, bars, food, drinks, movies, and a park within walking distance. Lone star court has a kitchen and a bar that were really good, this saved us time from looking for a bartender and caterer if we had gone with another venue. Now the good news that the food and drinks at Lone Star Court are very good, but if you and your guests want to try something different there are food trucks and restaurants right outside the hotel. What we liked most about Lone Star Court was that it encompassed a place where people in our wedding could gather and meet either in the pavilion, the bar, or by the campfire. Because of how the rooms are situated (all facing the central space) many times during our wedding weekend, we would run into someone and be able to sit down and have a chat or network. The rooms, outdoor space, and hotel were nicely decorated and clean (Thank you to the maintenance and housekeeping crew for all they do)! Our Wedding guests ranged from 2 years old to 82 years old and at Lone Star Court there was something for every age. Let’s talk about the wedding and the people who made it happen! The greeting and check-in process with Yolanda, Candie and everyone who worked the front desk was fabulous. Guests received a welcome drink, which they were happy for! Lone star court sent us a charcuterie board and champagne to celebrate the wedding! The front desk also had random things that were helpful during the day of the wedding like a steamer, scissors, etc. Jazz was the main point of contact and emailed back and forth with us setting up meetings with all people involved, answering questions of what others have done previously before the event including drink tickets for Friday “welcome drinks” (Shoutout to Octavia for taking care of us and our guests at the bar), and allowed us the opportunity to use the Sisterdale room for the buffet. When we arrived, the general manager - William Barba, banquet captain - David Huszka, and the banquet team, Jose all introduced themselves and were very warm, welcoming, open to suggestions, and very receptive to see if our vision of the space would work. What made working with them great was their “let’s try it and see if it works” demeanor about them. We had our wedding in February, where the weather can be unpredictable. The day of the wedding, it was 45℉. We held the ceremony outside on the turf (Yes, we were cold), LSC gave our guests blankets during the ceremony, lit the campfires, and heaters. The original plan to have the cocktail hour outside on the pavilion, but we made a last-minute request to move indoors. David and Jose adjusted the cocktail hour from being outdoors in the Pavilion to having it in the Water trough within an hour and gave us a private event sign for the cocktail hour, they even decorated the space beautifully! The wedding guests were happy to be indoors and when we walked in everyone was happily enjoying the drinks and appetizers! The reception was held in the “Tack Room”, which comfortably held 60-70 persons with the bar inside. (70-80 with the bar outside), a DJ booth, welcome table, cake table, another table for wedding games, and a dance floor, 15’ X 18’ enough for more than half of the people to join in on the dancing. David, Jose, and other LSC staff helped decorate the cake table with in-house decorations and made it look amazing! They also moved several of the cocktail tables outside of the tack room with heaters to allow for any guests to mingle outside. They also listened to our request to ensure the barista had a heater close to her! Chef Senaida and head barista Monica really were amazing! I heard from pretty much all of the guests that the food, cake, and drinks did not disappoint! We chose the “classic” buffet menu and we loved every item that was served! The appetizers and food went very quickly, the biggest hit was the brussels sprouts, I went back for thirds and several foodies in our group that asked if there was more! The drinks that were made were amazing! We highly recommend going with the classic buffet! I also wanted to give a shoutout to Noble Party Rentals for being affordable and providing great service, when everyone else in Austin, TX is upselling the dancefloor, chairs, and delivery / labor. Without everyone involved the wedding wouldn’t have been such a success! Lone Star Court really went above and beyond; everything was fabulous and professionally done! We 100% recommend having a wedding and staying at the Lone Star Court in Austin! - Eleanor and Marvin Coombs

Dear Eleanor and Marvin, In my career we have hosted many weddings. I must say that your wedding was one of the most beautiful ceremonies and receptions I have had the pleasure to host. The two of you looked stunning, the decor was elegant and full with love and simplicity, the kids were having a super time with the bubbles, and the happiness of you and your loved ones really shone through and made the entire hotel feel like part of your celebration. Thank you for authorizing us to share photos of your amazing event on our social media platforms. We take great pride in our service and in the timeless culture of the Valencia Group, and no words can express how happy we are that we delivered upon every expectation for you and your family. Marvin you are a fantastic guy; your attention to detail all weekend was admirable, and we loved seeing your dedication to keeping your family comfortable and content. Eleanor, the happiness you displayed the entire stay was contagious and many guests mentioned to us how elegant and refined your wedding dress was. On behalf of the Lone Star Court team, congratulations on your marriage. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of such an incredible weekend. We wish you nothing but happiness and success in life, and we hope to welcome you back soon!  William T. Barba, General Manager

We loved this hotel! The location was great for walking to restaurants and shops, the retro themeing was adorable and the communal firepits were awesome. The only complaint my husband and I had was that the beds were tiny and because of that we did not sleep well. Overall, we loved this place.

Had a great time at the Lone Star Court. Loved the hacienda-like atmosphere, the friendly staff and the courtyard fire pits on the chilly nights. Comfortable and welcoming! I’d recommend this gem to anyone wanting to sample the Austin lifestyle. Great proximity to the restaurant district and other nightlife as well.
