The Firehouse Hostel is an old firehouse converted into a hostel and lounge. The rooms are dormitory in style but have private room with shared bathroom and private room with private bath options as well. The common areas are full of charm and decorated with the idea of functionality and social interaction in mind. The staff was friendly, helpful, and...

I had a really fun time travelling solo here. There was a pub crawl on Saturday night which was a great way to meet other travelers. The hostel sits above a super cool lounge which is worth hanging out in. The place was clean, and I was happy that there were outlets for every bed - even the top bunks!...

Stayed two days in Feb 2017! I found the hostel pleasant, the staff helpful and kind, the cost reasonable and the location exceptional. Parking was a tad pricey if you have a car but well worth the location, as you can easily get to 6th Street! Overall, definitely recommend, would stay again!

The hostel is located on the corner of Brazos and 6th, a long strip of bars and cheap restaurants, and is right Downtown, near the Capitol and a short walk from the river. (Also only 10 minutes from Rainey St, which is a cool street for eating and drinking.) The speakeasy bar is great and very good value. Staff are...

Ok... this place is so awesome I almost paused at posting a review because I do not want this place to get overrun with hipsters and tourist. That being said, I can't do that because this place is so wonderful. I had heard about the lounge "behind the book case" and had to check it out. I felt like I...

It might be the only hostel in downtown Austin, making everything in walking distance or a short cab ride away. It's affordable compared to AirBnb or hotels. Be sure to get a drink at the famous Driskill right across the street! The staff at Firehouse are really helpful and nice. I dealt with George and Jess mostly and they were...

For a hostel, this wasn't bad. The beds had solid wood frames, so they didn't shake like the cheap metal framed beds in many hostels. I felt I had a little more privacy with these beds as well. The bathroom was also large and clean. The location was great, in the middle of downtown, and the staff were helpful. The...

Well located just off 6th street. Facilities were great, hostel was clean and safe and the free breakfast is one of the best I have had (a wide choice including scrabbeled eggs, toast, nutella, fruit, cereal and orange juice to name a few). Great stuff and the pub crawl was super fun.

Austin is expensive. This hostel was a great value. Employees are very nice. The second night our room was freezing. We woke up and two of us were sick. We had 6 guys and 2 females in our room. We did need a mirror in the room. The bunk had 4 outlets which was awesome!! It is downtown so it...

We had a room with a private bathroom, a kingsize bed and a bunk bed. The hostel was clean, the breakfast was simple and you could hear people at the hall but that is what you can expect of a hostel. We were four friends traveling and we would definitely recommend it to others! You have to visit the bar...
