I enjoyed my experience at the Austin Folk House. I stayed here for a conference at nearby UT and really loved this little place. The room I had was #9, and it was small but enough for me as a single person. There was a huge wooden wardrobe in the room that seemed far too large for the room, but... More

We really enjoyed our stay at the Austin Folk House. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, the staff was friendly, the breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food, and the location was close to 6th street as well as UT. There is also bicycle rental station just a block away. The only issue we had is the... More

Really liked this place, we were sorry we were only going through town and didn't stay longer to enjoy the decks and walking the city streets. Food was way above other B&Bs we've stayed at. Many choices, no one would walk away hungry. I read other reviews saying the area was noisy, but we were there Christmas week and it... More

The Austin Folk House's website didn't have very good photos, so we were pleased to discover that it is much better than the photos suggested, charming with interesting art on the walls. Our room was large and comfortable, and everything worked as expected. The only problem we had was the room became too hot at night, but we closed the... More

I enjoyed the Austin Folk House. The décor is more down-to-earth than some B&B's, which can be overly decorated and too fussy. The Austin Folk House felt very comfortable. There's a refrigerator in the hallway where one can store food. The breakfast was extraordinary - I wish I had had room for more. The granola is excellent, there was a... More

If you want to stay near the University of Texas, then is as a good a spot as you'll find. It's about two blocks west of campus. The rooms are well-kept, the breakfast is good, and the parking is free. Overall, not bad, but we did have some minor inconveniences: the free wifi didn't reach our room, and the late... More

I stayed for a week. The BB is very well located, 15 minutes walking from Campus. It is a in a very quiet street and it feels safe for a solo woman traveller. It has supermarkets and restaurants nearby. It is clean and staff is very fiendly. Breakfast needs more healthy options.

Very cosy place with very friendly staff, great breakfast and tasty afternoon cakes. The university is just a couple of blocks away and the centre is in easily reached by bus. Very good value for what you get.

We were only in Austin for one night and wanted to look around the University and take in the 6th street experience as it has been 30 years since we last lived in Austin. The cost of a room is less or equal too staying at a hotel downtown and paying for parking. We were not greeted at check in but... More

We recently spent about a week at this B&B, and we were so happy we were able to stay there. It is close to the capital and a lot of Austin's attractions. One thing My wife and I aren't super comfortable with is the B&B's that have a small breakfast window and dining with all the other guests. This B&B... More
