This Hilton has gone downhill ever since the pandemic started and has seem to gotten worse. First, they’ve taken away the free room upgrades for Diamond Members and stated “it’s a higher floor”. Before we were placed on the floor with the executive lounge or higher. The executive lounge is still closed and they’re not offering any of the snacks and drinks in the lobby like they did for us during the pandemic. It’s like they’ve completely eliminated the diamond member benefits. No bottled water was in our room and we had to go to the front desk to ask for it. The only thing that our status got was a $12 per person food credit for an unpleasant breakfast buffet that cost $24/person… Next, the electric vehicle chargers are not being maintained and only one cord is available now (there was 2). When asking the front desk lady, a man named “Hector” who stated was the manager rudely interrupted and said “those are 3rd party chargers and we have nothing to do with them”. We have been coming to Hilton Austin for 9 years now and purposely stay here for the EV charging and the benefits of diamond status. Will be switching hotels and possibly brands after this. …
Very clean hotel! Take covid seriously. Also at the pool. When the attendant wasn't waiting on people he was cleaning and cleaning. Rooms and hallways were spotless. As was restaurant. Restaurant was very good for light dinner and snack and the breakfast was good. Two complaints - I was approached by two (separately) homeless people while waiting outside to check into hotel. Second complaint - if they had valet service like they advertised i would have felt much safer. And the parking garage is no day in the park. Don't advertise valet if you don't have it. Call people back to work! Don't blame everything on covid! Call people back!
More than likely, our only trip to Austin due to very rude people in Austin. Hotel does not have Keurig coffee pots. The food at the hotel restaurant was horrible. Very salty. I paid for the valet service. After 11 pm we had to park our car in the parking garage.
I’ve stayed in many Austin hotel properties in past years but this was one of the best appointed hotels I’ve seen. The night window views of downtown were stunning. Recent updates are beautiful, fresh, contemporary and welcoming. This was a short trip so we did not take advantage of the restaurants or other amenities. However, Patrick and the entire front desk team were courteous and made our stay near perfect. I can always tell a well-run hotel, and this is certainly one of the best in the Hilton properties.
Very nice hotel located right near the convention center. Only stayed one night but the room are stunning with a spectacular view of downtown. The self parking is well lit but if you have a big truck you aren’t going to fit LOL. The staff was very friendly and helpful, gave us great recommendations. Depending on what you are wanting to do in Austin this may or may not be the best location. For us we were wanting to do some shopping on South Congress and it was about 1.5 mile walk and about .5 to the bridge to watch the bats at dusk. It is located near a lot of great food establishments also. Would stay there again for sure!
