The house manager was communicative, but mostly to admit that they already knew about the problems we were reporting. The place looks as pictured, but you can't see that we had cold showers. Also, if you don't rent the entire building, don't even think about it. The sound is deafening. People simply walking in the hallway sounds like they are a heard of elephants right next to your head. The other guests were cool, not their problem, just that the place has zero sound absorbing materials in place. And they ask you to take your shoes off and leave them in a public rack. Um, ewww. I will not be walking in your public hall in my bare feet.

I am so sorry you didn't have a spectacular stay at ADINA. We totally understand your aggravation and can relate to your experience; not being able to take a warm shower when one needs one can put anyone in a testy mood -- it can definitely set the tone for ones stay. My understanding from our management partner is that they addressed the hot water issue, but it came a bit too slow -- for this we offer our sincere apologies. To be fare, the problem was resolved the same day it was reported. I'm sure if we could have gotten a plumber in sooner it would have happened -- Austin is a tough place to find tradespeople on short order given the crazy growth the city is experiencing. With regard to sound, I know if I had to take a cold shower I would be on heightened alter for any other items that might annoy me -- it's human nature. ADINA is a 100 year old building that we lovingly restored. We made a choice to keep with the history of the home and not cover our beautiful wood floors with carpeting that would provide more sound absorption. We request folks leave their shoes at the door not just to lessen sound but also to decrease germs and bacteria. This is a standard practice in Asia; many studies have proven it to be highly effective. Obviously we can't enforce this rule but we encourage it. Guests who have embraced it have communicated that they loved this idea and enjoyed walking around in their favorite fuzzy slippers. I am guessing you did not have slippers and understand why you might not prefer walking in bare feet. We have discussed providing slippers to our guests and your note has given us more reason to consider this option. Sorry things did not work out as you would have liked. We continue to strive to make everyone's stay enjoyable but understand ADINA is not for everyone.

We are currently staying here. We don’t have enough towels after renting the entire complex and have called multiple times. There seems to be no urgency in getting towels so people can properly shower. They claim to be a hotel but also provide service that is inferior to holiday inn. They request certain things due to Covid but can’t provide basic hygiene like enough towels for individuals to shower. If I could give 0 stars I would.

Hello Kathryn, First of all thank you for choosing ADINA. I am so sorry you had an unhappy experience. As a small hospitality business owner facing the challenges of the pandemic I was obviously disappointed to see our run of 5 star reviews being broken. I followed up on your towel issue with our management partner; they assured me that the rooms were stocked with the correct number of towels to cover all guests in your party -- in fact there should have been extras as your party size was below the maximum occupancy. Regardless, they took your call and delivered towels not once but twice - this went above and beyond standard procedures. In your review you stated we claim to be a hotel; I would like to make it clear we have never made that claim. If you are looking for a standard room with great towel service then a Holiday Inn may indeed be a great choice. We aren't a Holiday Inn, we offer a boutique Austin experience with uniquely designed rooms in a fantastic location -- think Boutique lodging meets Airbnb. We take all feedback seriously and your note definitely has made us think of ways to improve. For longer term stays we already offer options for additional cleanings and linen service but had not considered this for shorter stays such as yours. We are also in process of figuring out how to add an on-site laundry facility. With regard to our Covid rules we make it very clear, those renting the whole building are free to ignore them. We do appreciate when guests follow our no shoes policy as it not only protects our beautiful wood floors, but helps keep the property clean of dirt and germs -- overall guest have been super positive on this one but we understand it doesn't work for everyone. I would love to have the opportunity to talk to you and get better understanding of your stay, so as to learn other ways we might be able to improve in the future. You can reach me at Lew@adinaaustin.com -- if you can send me your phone number I will be glad to call you back.

Amazing stay at a beautiful boutique hotel! The owners, Ying and Lewis, were gracious and welcoming, knowledgeable about Austin, and full of great conversation. They also made us feel very comfortable with their handling of COVID (wearing masks, taking temperatures at check-in, etc.). The hotel itself was immaculate and beautiful with incredible artwork throughout done by the owner’s daughter! The central location was ideal for us to be able to take in much of the city even by walking! After a few days at Adina, you won’t want to leave!

Was great to host you and your lovely girlfriend at ADINA! We are glad you had to opportunity to visit our wonderful city and experience some of our fun outdoor activities and get a taste of our Texas culinary culture. Making our guests feel comfortable and relaxed during this crazy time is one of our key goals. Being a smaller property along with extra precautions like shoes at the door and masks in common areas I believe helps. We look forward to your next visit to our cool city.

My wife and I spent 3 wonderful nights in the Adina. The rooms are beautifully decorated, well appointed, spacious and all have extremely comfortable beds. The Adina is in a centrally located spot in Austin but in a very quiet neighborhood. Louis and Ying are the consummate hosts. With lots of friendly touches to our stay it really made our trip special. We really recommend Adina to anyone staying in Austin for business or pleasure.

We are so happy we could provide you with a wonderful stay and thank you so much for the kind words! We truly have worked hard to differentiate ourselves from the cookie cutter gray and beige accommodations of the big chains; we want folks to truly feel like they are somewhere unique and special. Looking forward to seeing you both during your next stay in the City!

I spent the night at the ADINA for an Austin "staycation" and was pleasantly surprised to have discovered the perfect oasis in the heart of the city. This wasn't your typical hotel! Lovely decor in every room! Their attention to detail and artistic flare made me feel like I was in another time and place. Just what I needed! And if you're looking to relax, their Japanese Jacuzzi is a definite WOW factor...now I want one in my home! The communal lounge area on the top floor provided an idyllic space to kick back at the end of the day. I also loved the quaint kitchen area with plenty of room for guests to spread out and enjoy a cup of coffee. The murals on the walls throughout gave each area such a cool Austin vibe. My suite was on the bottom floor with a private balcony. The room was much larger than I expected - 2 adjoining rooms - one with a king and office area and the other a queen. Comfortable bedding and elegant space! I loved relaxing on the balcony and reading books in the lounge swing. I've been dreaming of stepping foot through their TEXAS SIZED doors ever since I last set foot. Looking forward to booking another trip soon. Next time, I hope to explore more of the neighborhood! So many great local gems within walking distance. I cannot say enough about what a welcoming space this place provides guests. Thank you for the stay, ADINA! Great place, lovely detail, and over-the-top hospitality.

Wonderful historic and newly renovated gem in Judge Hill. The owners are extremely kind and accommodating with an appreciation for local artists. You can see this from the pictures of the rooms and throughout the common spaces. Each of the guest rooms were very clean, uniquely decorated, and spacious, making it perfect for a girls trip, romantic getaway, or some quality family time. When we stayed they were fully booked and I heard very little noise from other guests. If you are looking for the convenience of city life but want to feel tucked away, then this is the place. The owners also provide a daily list of recommendations, weather, and happy to answer any questions you may have about Austin.

We truly appreciate your review! As you stated, Art is indeed an important theme at ADINA. We are hoping to support other artists as time goes on. We like to think of ADINA as walking into a very colorful portrait -- we don't have a single beige wall in the place :-). Please come back again soon and we will work hard to earn that 5th star from you!

I love this place! Ying and Lew are the kindest, most accommodating hosts ever! They made sure to check in with us periodically to make sure we had everything we needed. They gave us some food and drink recs. They were very flexible with check in and check out. They even brought my partner and I champagne and a handwritten card on his birthday! They made us feel very safe in the COVID era - shoes off, no wheeling luggage and cleaned the place thoroughly before our arrival. We stayed in the suite with the jacuzzi and it was wonderful. Thank you, Adina!

Thanks so much Kim for your wonderful review! We felt privileged to have you as our guests. I suspect 5 days of relaxing Whirlpool baths and evenings on our Front Porch helped clear you and your partner of any stir craziness brought on by this unfortunate Pandemic. Come back any time you need a little break from the ordinary.

As a person who travels for work, a quick getaway was much needed after sheltering at home for over three months. Safety was definitely my main priority when making my travel arrangements and after reading about Adina's COVID- 19 precautionary measures which included a complete disinfection of the property using binary ionization technology I definitely felt at ease and booked my stay right away. - You can think of the hotel as a museum and every room to be a unique piece of art (definitely check out the pictures posted here; you'll fall in love). For our first night, we needed flexibility with our check in as we were expected to arrive a bit past 10pm and the owners were super understanding and accommodating, so this was no issue. Our room had the comfiest of beds and after a full day of work and a long drive, this felt like heaven. The next morning, we enjoyed breakfast and coffee in the lounge area. During our weekend in Austin, restaurants and bars were shut down but this was not issue. The hotel is conveniently located close to many attractions that you can enjoy freely while maintaining social distance. If you are an outdoors person, head over to Lady Bird Lake and rent out a kayak or paddle board. Looking for places to eat? Austin has many delicious restaurants and getting food to go for picnics at the Capitol, UT, Lady Bird Lake, etc. were definitely pleasant and relaxing. - To the owners, thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful! We will definitely be back.

So glad to hear you felt safe at ADINA; we are doing our best to create a safe environment during this challenging time. We truly appreciate the fact our Guests are accepting of our quirky no shoe policy and recognize the other lengths we have taken to make ones stay as fun and worry free as possible. Glad you liked the art peppered throughout the property; never thought of it as a Museum but we'll accept that characterization :-) We are hopeful to be able to feature other local artists in the near future, just to keep things interesting. Thank you so much for your business; we truly hope to see you again in the near future.
