First off, I've been Titanium Elite for years, and I requested a corner room upgrade at The W prior to arrival and the points were deducted from my Bonvoy account. I was in an accident the previous week and wanted the tub for soaking in the evening. Upon check-in I was told no corner upgrade rooms were available that week. Later that day two of my male peers were both provided corner upgrade rooms without asking, one was Titanium Elite and the other is a lower level Bonvoy. I can't believe this Marriott property treats single women guests like this! Since there was no material in the room stating hour of the restaurant/pool/spa, I asked the staff about hours of operation, but the two individuals at the front desk were unable to answer. I went to the spa multiple times, but nobody was available at the spa desk either, so I was unable to use those facilities during my stay. The hotel is purposely kept dark, which is a little strange. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, however, the sheets did not cover the whole bed and had holes. The furniture was trying to be modern chic but was uncomfortable. The shampoo/conditioner were Bliss products, but were old and smelled bad.…
Not the Best W! Still a quality location, but the JW is significantly nicer room quality. Price about the same unless the JW has a convention in town. As always quality linens and towels and good shower water pressure. The suite was decently equipped and had nice balcony furniture that was very comfortable. Balcony is tight and not very spacious.
Parked at The W Hotel to visit a friend. The valets Collin and Jordan were quickly attentive, friendly and gave some good food recommendations for lunch. Will definitely use the wheels service again at The W.
Great service showed up for a meeting with Google an one of the valets caught me psyching myself up an helped me with some words of encouragement. Overall colin and Jordan are very lovely an charming young men I wish them the best in there endeavors as then did mine
Marriott Lifetime Platinum and currently here in the hotel on a work trip. The location is the best imaginable and the service is good and consistent with the W brand (though some hiccups at check-in with the team not offering the Platinum perk options). The room is nice and overlooks the water making it super attractive and nice to wake up to. The WET Deck is also great - and while drinks are overpriced, it is a fun destination for both partying over the weekend and relaxation during mid-week sunset times. The problem was really at the Trace restaurant. I was having a breakfast with a collegaue ordering their Chorizo Omelette priced at $17 + tax and tip and not including coffee. the dish showed up with 2 clearly paced and horrifically visible pubic hairs in the dish, curling their way through the sauce. The kind waitress was called, apologized and took the dish - returning after 10 minutes with the dish and a kind quick apology. Clearly, not all the dish has been remade as the chorizo at this point was overcooked and the potatoes cold. No compensation, no offer for additional items, no attempt to cover the meal after trying to feed us hair from the chef's intimate parts for breakfast. Disgusting, unacceptable, and unprofessional from a hotel at this level.…
This hotel is a shell of what it used to be. Worn down. Outdated. Rude people. It's horrible. I will never stay here again, and as a Titanium member, and lifetime platinum, may give up Marriott overall. It is that bad. Avoid at all costs.
I needed some changes to my booking to my March reservation and I have to say that the Front Office Manager, Andrew Robinson was so helpful. He was professional and had a positive 'can do' attitude. This type of service makes travel a pleasurable experience!
This hotel offers calm and relaxing vibe! Very clean with PHENOMENAL front desk service and valet! People who travel know that miserable front desk staff can lead to miserable experience! You don't have to worry about that here. Room had simple but modern furnishings(loved the sink), the view was perfect, hotel in convenient location located next to a mini grocery market and walking distance to most of the hot spots in downtown Austin. Cons No hot tub Pool is really just a wading pool- so unless your going to just layout, not much point As others mentioned parking is outrageous, but all hotels charge the same Overall highly recommend !! My go to next time I am in Austin.
When you stay at a W, you expect a luxury experience. This stay failed the basics of a 2 star hotel. A small thing like toiletries can ruin a night. They failed to let us know that they were out of conditioner. I was in the shower already when I noticed. My husband called down to get some sent up , but apparently they are having an issue with their vendor. You would think they had backup vendors…. So my long hair took about 10 minutes to detangle, normally takes 30 seconds. Not to mention the damage from breakage and loss from the detangling. I’m not sure if a professional keratin treatment will even help at this point.
My wife and I visited this location to celebrate our anniversary. To sum it up in one word…OUTSTANDING! From the location, to the decor, to the customer care, we were pleasantly surprised. Joanna went out of her way to ensure our stay was memorable!
