I recently stayed here with two girlfriends. We all loved the spacious and interestingly crafted Studio Azul. It is located in a nice residential neighborhood , but we easily walked to the shops and restaurants on Congress Avenue. When it was too hot to walk we took a short cab ride (5 minutes) to the downtown area and enjoyed all...

My husband and I spent 3 nights in Studio Azul. We had a lovely time in Austin and enjoyed Casa Kenwood as our home away from home. This is for sure a funky place, which was exactly what we were looking for while staying in Austin. Although it is located in a neighborhood, the location was very close and convenient...

Our 2 moms & 2 dots (twenty something daughters) had a fabulous reunion at Casa K. The Studio Azul was better than we expected. Arrived at dusk and our great space was prepped for our arrival, with glowing lamps and neon. The "barn door" window was open, letting in fresh perfect-weather-air. The bathroom was a hoot with colorful tile and...

The Casa Kenwood guesthouses were a great idea for our stay during ACL. Everything is conveniently close and the care takers are very, very accomodating. Not to mention the ambiance of the place itself, it is CUTE. I would not hesitate to book a reservation at CKG next trip to Austin!

We have just returned from 4 nights at Casa Kenwood in Austin and we loved it! The property itself is incredible, so much to explore and enjoy outside. I wish the weather had been a bit warmer to sit outside a bit more than we did. There are two friendly dogs on site who provided us some cuddles everyday, loved...

My husband and I just got back from a 4 night stay in Austin. We wanted to stay someplace quiet, but within walking distance of South Congress and the river. Casita Roja was perfect. The property is serene and artistic, with an outdoor fireplace, waterfall, art in unexpected corners and generous christmas-tree lighting strung along pathways. Christine showed us around...

We stayed here for our first trip to Texas. It is in a great location, close to downtown and south congress for shopping. There is an on site maitenance man. Our water wasn't working the second day and he came to fix it. We stayed in casa Roja which was perfect for 2 people. Never saw the owners but they...

We were in town because my husband was playing a music festival down the street (imagine that!). A lot has already been said about this place, we absolutely loved it. So much so that we wanted to extend our stay by one night, but couldn't due to it being fully booked. Perfect central location, great neighborhood to walk around, walking...

My buddy and I stayed in the Casita Roja and were pleasantly surprised by the ambiance of the cottage and surrounds. Lots of birds and trees and stuff, with gorgeous landscaping and patio areas. The rooms are decorated very tastefully and all amenities in full working order, the reverse cycle a/c a must in Austin. I'd go out on a...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Casa Kenwood Guesthouses are one treehouse cabin (Casita Roja) and one cool "artist's" loft (Studio Azul) in the neighborhood of Travis Heights in Austin, Texas. We're not a hotel, not a bed and breakfast, and not a traditional vacation rental... We live on-site and we have two cool guesthouses and a great outdoor property that we are excited to share with travelers to Austin who are longing to discover a hint of that something special that makes Austin "weird." Visit Austin and still feel like you're home, not in a run-of-the-mill vanilla box! We're colorfully laid-back, we're artsy, we're pet friendly. “There are levels in and out, which I love. Could be tricky for the old, drunk or unsteady. :)”
  • This is the view out the window I call
  • Colorful bathroom with pebble work filling up tiny spaces...so many materials and textures.
  • Plenty of room, even with couch/bed open. Small kitchen area is out of view.

“Casita Roja is more private than Studio Azul as it is at the rear of the property and detached from the owner's residence.”
