Staff is superb, property is beautiful and located next to the best neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance. They have a coffee shop in the parking lot that is so convenient but they also serve coffee from the shop in their lobby each morning. will recommend to everyone i know!
The diamond that Liz Lambert created some 25+ years ago continues to shine. The property is a creative gem that takes an old motorcourt hotel and turns it into an urban enclave, that even today, has one of the hippest scenes in all of Austin. Stop for a drink, stay for the pool, and return for a home that's hidden behind the ceramic tiles and draped vines. Properties have passing moments, but the Hotel San José is truly a timeless oasis tucked discreetly into the heart of a bustling city.
We rented the suite for our anniversary staycation weekend and had the best time! The hotel is so thoughtfully Austin with the kindest staff. We loved walking through the property to the hotel bar for morning coffee or cocktails at night. We lucked out and stayed when they had a house DJ so it was a cool & convenient place for our nightcap. You also cannot beat the location! We spent 2 1/2 days walking around enjoying all the retail and restaurants in the area. It was so nice staying in such a lovely, relaxing place in the heart of it all. We can’t wait to go back!
My husband and I have been visiting the Hotel San Jose for years. Each time we stay we are treated well. The staff is friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is relaxing. This hotel is an oasis in the middle of big-city craziness.
Super cute hotel tucked away in a garden courtyard right on South Congress. Even better than the walkable, central location was how private the hotel feels. We stayed in the petit suite which was spacious for two, with a sitting area and desk facing the window. Chic amenities and I am a sucker for a hotel with a cute robe! Staff were kind and helpful! We’ll definitely be back here next time we’re in Austin!
I was fortunate enough to be booked at the Hotel San Jose for a singing competition that I won to be the opening act (for Lurleen Ladd) at an Austin Club (Parker Jazz Club). Traveling Solo, I did not know what to expect or where I would be staying. Alas, I arrived at the Hotel San Jose and was greeted by the warmest and most informative employees who immediately made me feel at home and comfortable. The hotel was beautiful with a coffee to cocktails bar open 8 to 10 every day, free coffee and a unique shop - From the check-in desk to the bar through to the outside courtyard with tables, it was just beautifully arranged and landscaped and obviously popular! My room on the first floor with a gate and my own patio was just perfect. A petite suite that was efficient and beautiful from the soaps to the linens and the bed, it was truly a wonderful place to stay. In addition to the perfect accommodations, it was the absolute perfect location on Congress, which is a vintage, cool, neon, OMG so fun part of town. This area must represent the best of Austin and what the Austin Vibe is all about! I was also welcome to there other sister locations and cafes on the same street. I can't say enough about this hotel. I simply loved it. I am looking forward to returning to Austin and definitely returning to the Hotel San Jose! …
Fantastic hospitality - charming, lovely spaces - perfectly located on South Congress - Loved the staff, loved all their recommendations. Also really loved staying on South Congress. will absolutely be staying again!

We had an incredible stay. Tricia and team helped make our stay even more amazing. Best recommendations from all our restaurants to send our s to Barton Spring's for a swim. The hotel makes you feel like you live on South Congress. Can’t say enough. The Best. J
The San Jose is my go-to in Austin. Great location for getting downtown or for shopping/dining on South Congress. But more importantly it has a great vibe. The rooms are comfortable but hip, and the pool/bar/patio is chill and always a good place to hang out.
