Absolutely perfect for our wedding weekend. Staff was attentive to all our guests, delivering welcome boxes, transferring hanging bags from bus to rooms, you name it, Serafin and their staff helped made it happen. Loved the valet. Car was always promptly brought to front entrance. So important when we had so many events to travel to. Rainey Street was an added bonus to walk to for later night drink. No need to go to 6th Street. Oh and the rooms are beautiful and beds comfortable. 5 Stars!
While we often enjoy staying at Fairmont properties, this was one of the best we’ve stayed at. Our room was so beautiful and super clean. The picture is the view from our room. The location was great for us. Mitchel was beyond helpful throughout our stay. He offered us many suggestions for restaurants and activities to do within and outside of Austin. Since we were with our kids, we were concerned about safety guidelines. The hotel felt very safe. All staff had masks appropriately on their face covering their mouth and nose. Also, the breakfast was really good.
We arrived on a Friday, so the hotel lobby was very busy with people checking in. Garrett helped us at the front desk. He was friendly, welcoming, and professional. He explained the features of the hotel including parking, mini bar, pool, and fitness center. When assigning us a room, Garrett asked us which view we wanted. We deferred that decision to him. He selected a room with a fantastic view of the pool and the river! When we had a question/concern about the mini bar and its possible charges, he made us aware of the mini fridge that was available to use if we wanted. The fridge was delivered to our room within the hour! Garrett started our visit out on the right foot! We couldn't have asked for better customer service! The hotel itself is impeccably clean! We requested daily housekeeping. The staff did an amazing job of ensuring the room was spotless. The pool was jam packed on Friday and Saturday. It was definitely a party atmosphere. We loved it! Loud music, people laughing and having fun! If you have young children, I wouldn't bring them to the pool on a weekend late in the afternoon or evening. It's an adult environment. On Sunday and Monday, the pool was considerably calmer and more relaxed. Michael at the pool bar went above and beyond for us! He remembered our names and the canned beer we liked! The bar was very busy! We were amazed that Michael took the time to remember us and even small talk a bit. Amidst the crowd, he made us feel like valued guests. I don't know what Fairmont Austin is doing to train their staff, but I hope they keep it up! What an incredible stay we had! Thank you!…
We are locals and wanted to experience the Fairmont for my husband's birthday. We were a little surprised about the average age of the other guests in the hotel. A very young and partyish group. The pool was always crowded but I'm sure very enjoyable for the 25-30 year olds that were there. The Partying was a little over the top for us. I mistakenly thought the Fairmont was for the more mature age group. I wasn't sure if the crowd was just eager to get out a socialize after being quarantined for so long or was the 25-30 age group a normal thing. Very much the spring break vibe.
I was only there for one night and the hotel and staff were exceptional. It's a beautiful place with amazing views and is easy to navigate. Lots of amenities! We learned that Saturday was a party night for young adults. I would equate it to a Las Vegas party pool - we tried to use the pool but had to come back to the room. We will go again one day but stay during the week. I think it would be good to somehow share that information with people before booking.
