The lint system for the dryers probably aren't the best. We found several linty, short and otherwise unidentifiable hairs on our beds bottom sheet. I will say they were nice enough to send two employees up to remake our bed, and another maintenance employee to shoe away a couple of eager yellowjaclets in the process of making a nest on our balcony. The hotel is dated in spots, but overall still very charming as well as top quality room amenities and a balcony

I don’t usually write reviews, but this experience was so horrible that I don’t want anyone else to ever go through the experience we went through. We arrived to the Omni Southpark hotel in Austin, TX on March 16th. From the moment we pulled up to the property we noticed the surrounding hotels looked full and clean from the outside. The Omni looked empty and uninviting. We were also concerned about the safety of the neighborhood as the few miles driving up were filled with homeless people in the streets. We proceeded to check in where we were greeted with a somewhat cold welcome and the amount of air freshener in the lobby seemed like they were trying to hide something. We proceeded to our room where we noticed the hotel and rooms looked more run down than the pictures had initially shown. The whole room was dated and the carpet and furniture throughout were dingy. They intentionally don’t show you pictures of the shower as it appears the moldy tile and the knob haven’t been updated since the 1980’s. The toilet in our room I had to flush at least 3 times before it would ever flush. This is not a handy situation when you have a toddler running around. We then went to get ice and the ice vending machine on the 9th floor was broken. We tried to put the bottled waters in the fridge, but the room was actually colder than the fridge. We were already on edge with the facility, but opted to still give this hotel a chance. Upon our return later that evening we noticed that it felt like the entire building was swaying. While there was rain and we were on the 9th floor, this was a pretty intense sway. I lost my balance multiple times while showering to give you an idea. The next morning we proceeded down to get breakfast. This was not included and we paid over $20 for a tiny taco, a cold breakfast sandwich and the worst cup of coffee I have ever had. It was no longer raining and I noticed it still felt as the whole room was swaying. The sole reason I picked this hotel to stay at was for the heated indoor pool and spa. Later that day we proceeded to go use these amenities. You had to walk outside in the cold to get to the indoor area. Upon walking outside it didn’t look like the area and pool had been maintained in quite sometime. We proceeded inside where a lady was stocking towels and a gentlemen was in the spa. We proceeded to the indoor pool, which was covered by leaves and was way too cold to swim in. While disappointing we thought okay well we will go to the spa then. When we got to the spa the bubbles were going really fast and a gentlemen was leaving. We proceeded into the spa. We noticed once my husband, my toddler and I got in that something didn’t seem right. There was an odor. My husband went to stop the bubbles and we noticed there was a filth of film in the spa and when the bubbles stopped we noticed the water was very discolored (yellow/green). We thought that the water may have just looked a little funny with how fast the bubbles were going. After absorbing our surroundings we noticed the gentlemen outside the spa had dried off and got fully clothed. He was in old, smelly clothes and his shoes did not match. He quickly slipped out a back door and that is when we knew that it was a homeless man who had just used the spa to bathe in. We got out quickly and alerted the front desk right away. I spoke to the manager on site about this situation along with all the other issues, and he didn’t seem overly phased. The first response he had was sorry that the hotel is dated. Having dated amenities and maintaining the cleanliness and safety of your facility are not one in the same. I personally felt that was a horrible excuse, and he wasn’t hearing our concerns at all. After all, they are in the hospitality business. He apologized for the inconvenience and started to tell us he had a kid too. I feel confident that if his child was just in a homeless man’s bath he would have had a lot more conviction than what was shown. I told him we could not stay another night at this point and we requested a refund. He let us know we would have to communicate through the 3rd party (hotels.com) that we booked with, but asked us to stay. I told him I was not trying to be trouble and we would think about it, but our priority was going to shower. When we got on the elevator I noticed my private part and skin started to itch excessively. We showered ourselves down over and over again. We requested a refund from hotels.com, which we did get. (Hotels.com was great. They were professional, efficient and truly heard our concerns). Before we left my husband was in the elevator with another guest that said he had seen multiple homeless people using their spa for bathing all week. My husband also spoke with a sales manager visiting the property and he even acknowledged that this property is one of their worst ones, but once again focusing on the older style. Style and maintenance/cleanliness/safety are still not one in the same. Hearing all this made us more furious. This shows pure neglect from the property management staff. The maintenance staff takes no pride in the property and the standards for safety were none. At $300/night I suggest this hotel get their act together. My private part is still very itchy, so no telling what kind of bacteria we may have picked up. This ruined our whole trip and now I just pray we will all be okay. This was supposed to be a fun first getaway with our 16-month old son and the whole trip turned into purgatory. We will never return to this hotel. If these are the standards Marriott enforces, then we want no part of it. #Marriott #MarriottBonvoy #AustinSouthparkHotel #Hotels #Dontgo #Disgusting #Filth #Unsafe #Unsanitary #Sickness #Mortifying #PTSD #Uncomforable

Great hotel/lodging experience! I stayed on the 14th floor. Also, I had assistance from the hotel staff (i.e. September) in operating my Lyft app on my phone. A lifesaver!! Really enhanced my first time/trip to Austin, TX.

Overall great staff, very attentive. The location is a great jumping off point to and from airport to downtown to the Hill Country. Parking is ample, ease of access to major freeways, with drivable places to go eat Just hope they upgrade the rooms, dated but functional ——-

The room was clean and the service and staff were quite good. The only negative is that the hotel is pretty dated and in need of a refresh / remodel. It sort of felt like I was back in 1995. Also not in the best part of town and it kind of felt like I was under the highway overpass.

Hotel is just very tired. But what really sets it apart is how completely rude the front desk is. How they keep a Marriott flag is totally beyond me. But I would suggest to stay anywhere somebody here

I stayed here for one night for a business trip. The first thing you notice is that both the American and Texas flags are tattered and torn on the front flagpoles. Not a good look. The staff seemed annoyed when I said I had a tax exempt form at check-in. The room was worn with scuffs on the furniture, a light fixture that didn't work, and a small-ish TV with ancient remote. The room looked out over the highway and the road noise was pretty constant. I could even hear people talking from the parking lot when I was on the 6th floor. The bed was comfortable and the parking was free, but I was overall unimpressed with this hotel and would find another place to stay next time I am in town.

The staff was excellent and available. The room was nice, but needed some updating. The location is central and conveniently located near the airport. The conference room was stocked with amenities and the staff was friendly and helpful. The room we stayed in does need some TLC, but was not dirty. Both nights we were there, it was quiet.
