This Spa resort seats in an incredibly beautiful part of Lake Austin, has great potential for improvement and maybe in the past it qualified as a 5 star property, nowadays it is far from that. The property is extremely dated, for the prices they charge their pool should be an infinity edge looking into the lake and not that ugly fenced pool that was probably built in the 70’s, old lounge chairs, etc., not an inviting space at all. The grounds were in pretty bad shape, one can understand that the Texas freeze did some damage to the plants but enough time had passed to have new ones planted, very few flowers, it just looked sad and unkept. The rooms were nice and very clean, beds and pillows were comfortable, bathrooms are spacious with very average amenities, far from 5 star quality, specially the toilet paper which was the worst kind possible, one ply convenience store in the middle of nowhere quality, ugh!! Service was great, staff was very polite and attentive. The food was excellent, hats off to the executive chef! Everything we ate tasted fresh, well prepared with quality ingredients, loved the choices that were offered for all meals throughout the day. The water activities offered are excellent and the staff who works at their pier were very kind and helpful. The SPA is a hit or miss, extremely overpriced for the quality of treatments and although they use quality products, some technicians are not qualified at all, our massages were good but the facials were terrible, the young technician who worked with me didn’t know what she was doing, I really can’t understand the good reviews, maybe they haven’t have a good professional treatment before and are content with someone just slathering some creams on your face or I was unlucky and was paired with inexperienced personnel my 2 visits to the Spa, I totally agree with another reviewer who said you can get a much better facial at Milk&Honey for less money. The wet area of the Spa was closed due to the COViD restrictions, it is also very dated.

Hotel's Favorite
I had the pleasure of staying here in January 2020. The property is gorgeous--full of gardens and vistas that take your breath away. I am picky about my spas--and this one is fabulous. I can get bored in a spa--but not here. The treatments are all superb, and the Blue Room one waits in for treatments in glorious. The entire place feels not like you are at a five star resort--but like you are an invited guest to an impeccable private estate, where the service is warm, yet highly professional. The employees here care whether you have a good time, and it shows The Managing Director greeted me at lunch, even though I am not a VIP, and gave me suggestions about how to maximize my stay. The chef gave a demo, and was friendly and took lots of questions. Aside from the Director, Janis Clapoff, I also love Camryn and Sheila, who gave great classes. The food is so good here, that's the only drawback!! I went to lose a few pounds, and really had to control myself. I managed to drop weight because while totally satisfying and first class, the menu has been thought out to encourage healthy eating. I made friends with many women--and discovered most were on their second, third, even eleventh visit! This place is worth the money!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Lake Austin Spa. The facility is kept very clean with multiple disinfecting stations, staff are attentive and wearing face masks at all times, along with considerate guests in the common areas. Food quality is excellent with good portions (you can always ask for more if you need to). Enjoyed the variety of activities that one can do individually or as part of a group including kayaking and boat tour. The staff at the boathouse are very sweet and attentive, they are my favorite. Spa services are excellent and are reasonably priced. Always felt safe since the resort had plenty of space for distancing. Will definitely be back in the near future.

Our family, during the Labor Day season of COVID, desired a place of refuge where we could gather and celebrate our traditions yet remain close to home. After studying several options, we chose Lake Austin Spa Resort...and were delighted to experience adventure as well as serenity. The efficient, warm welcome by front desk staff Pamela set the tone for a weekend of delicious, healthy food, luxurious spa treatment pampering, and what I believe sets this establishment above all the others: a pristine natural setting along acres and acres of emerald green waters. Lake Austin's marina and knowledgeable personnel like Paula opened the door for our family to experience unlimited access to kayaks, paddleboards, and two types of water cycles, to explore not only nature, but to stretch our own abilities to balance as we moved across water. Imagine being converted from someone nervous around boats to someone standing upright, oaring around river bends. Imagine, someone unskilled at the nuances of the kayak, now pushing further, further, past vacationing locals and the occasional turtle or fish. A few of our many blessings were the cozy bathrobes, the serene lap pool, the excellent yoga classes, the lazy, shady hammocks, the lack of pretension that had most guests lounging, bathrobe clad, in public spaces, the impromptu cheese plate delivered to our room when our hunger sprang up before our late dinner reservation. Don't let the price point stop you from experiencing this timeless resort! Let off-peak specials or packages like our spa treatments one open the door that might bring new passions into your life. You won't regret that decision!

Like most others, our summer vacation plans were cancelled due to Corona virus. I looked for something within the state, and am so happy to have found Lake Austin Spa and Resort. It was absolutely wonderful! We have never visited a 'spa resort', so we were uncertain what we would find. My wife and I simply cannot say enough good things about our experience. The staff, the room, the food, the views, and the spa treatments were all top notch. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. A huge thank you to Esther, Lindsey, Jurita, Ashley, Becky and everyone else for making our visit such a memorable one. We will be back! .
