Lake Austin Spa Resort is celebrated for its tranquil atmosphere and picturesque lake views, offering guests a peaceful spa environment that has been frequently praised. The service at the resort is generally regarded as impeccable, with staff earning accolades for their helpfulness, although there have been occasional mentions of service inconsistencies. While the amenities are considered rejuvenating, with a range of activities and wellness treatments set in beautiful grounds, some guests have encountered minor room and maintenance issues. The rooms themselves elicit mixed reactions; some guests find them charming and well-updated, while others express dissatisfaction with their small size and outdated feel. Regarding value, a number of travelers have voiced concerns about the high costs, feeling the charges are not fully justified by the experience.

My friend and I went to Lake Austin Spa Resort for a few days to celebrate my birthday and it was amazing! We started our trip with a ride around the lake while enjoying a snack box and a glass of wine which was a great way to kick off our celebration! We stayed for 3 nights and loved every minute. The food was fabulous with so many options to choose from. The dining room overlooks the lake which has a fabulous view. The wait staff was friendly, courteous and attentive. Our room was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Each night we were offered turn down service and each day we would return to our room to find it cleaned and ready. There are so many activities to enjoy each day and each one was very well organized with staff who did an excellent job making us feel welcomed and special I learned so much from everyone about how to care for my body and my mind. The spa is making some much needed updates which I am really happy to see. My spa specialists did an amazing job! I would highly recommend Lake Austin Spa Resort for your next getaway. You will not be disappointed!

We purchased a day package with lunch. Everyone was very nice and attentive. You fell pampered and relaxed as soon as you enter the lobby. I selected the Aroma Swedish Massage and the Coconut-Mango Body Bliss treatments. Misty did both of my treatments. She is fantastic!

Our lunch was ok. Mine was supposed to come with a side salad, but I never got it. Also if you order any alcoholic beverages look at the menu and show the wait staff exactly what you want or you will end up with the most expensive drink. They also have a “service charge” for the drink. It wasn’t clear on the menu today.

I’ll definitely go back for the spa treatments.

As a mom of two young kids and someone with a demanding job that constantly requires me to entertain and please others, I arrived at Lake Austin Resort feeling completely burnt out and wanting silence and alone time! This wellness retreat turned out to be exactly what I needed.
From the moment I booked my stay, the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Upon arrival, I encountered a minor issue with my room, but the team promptly upgraded me to a private hot tub suite, which was a delightful surprise. The rooms are charming, and while I was worried once I got moved to my actual room which was smaller, i was just as happy as it featured a lovely outdoor seating with a stunning view of the lake that more than made up for it.
The activities offered were a perfect blend of relaxation and rejuvenation. I enjoyed experiences like the flute and float, myofascial release in the water, yoga for hips, paddle board stretching, a scenic boat ride, and a soothing sound bath. Each activity was thoughtfully designed to help guests unwind and connect with themselves. I highly recommend booking a private session with Monica to focus on myofascial release! This was eye opening!!

The spa services were exceptional. As someone who loves massage, I’ve experienced many, but the therapists here truly understood my body’s needs and addressed them with expertise. It was one of the best massages I’ve ever received.

Although I initially didn't come for the food, it turned out to be a highlight of my stay. Each meal was healthy yet bursting with flavor, and I often felt like I was indulging in my own personal "Eat Pray Love" journey with my daily orders.

Overall, Lake Austin Resort provided the perfect sanctuary for relaxation and renewal. I left feeling recharged and ready to face the world again. Highly recommended for anyone in need of a restorative getaway!

I am writing to save someone from the horrible experience of Lake Austin Spa. The billing is a scam. This was a girls' trip, and we went with someone who had gone to the spa for many years and could not wait to experience it and relax. Check-in was so unprofessional, and we had to fill out forms we did in advance online. The manager just held her hand out without communicating that she needed my credit card. It was very odd but I looked past this welcome. The rooms were old; the landscaping was not full of weeds, and the garden was full of weeds and dead plants. I say this to you because you could tell at one point that this place was well-kept and amazing. The food is not up to par, and the service is as if everyone hated being there. The Lake Austin view is beautiful, but she is going downhill. We were charged 2284.84 per person ( three to a room ) for a very small room. Let me sum this up: with that price, you should have the time of your life. I work in a service business, so I understand how hard it is to please everyone. However, the service we got here was like no one was in charge, and no one cared, not to mention the billing problems we are now facing, and no one can seem to answer any billing questions. The picture you see is not what it is. The pools need repair and have blue and white awnings now. Some things have been unrepaired for over a year and 1/2 when you are in the spa area. One steam area was still unrepaired from my friend's last visit last year. When you go to relax outside of the hot tub area, everything is dead, and weeds are growing everywhere. Save your money and go somewhere else. Will continue to update on the billing problems but we paid 7000.00 for two night just for the room plus spa services. We could have had a much better time somewhere else for this amount . BEWARE of the new owners , they don't care!

I just moved to the area and have been eager to try out their spa. My grandmother and uncle came into town from Utah so we went as a group of 4 to get lunch, massages, and swimming in. Lunch was fresh, yummy, and the service was great and so friendly. The server was attentive and quick. After lunch we got ready for our massages. Locker rooms were clean and the spa attendant was helpful as our grandma uses a walker and needed space for changing. The upstairs lounge was accessible via elevator and all the restrooms were large enough for her to maneuver well. Massages all began on time and the lounge was warm and relaxing. After our massages our grandma got into the pool to do her swimming workout in for the day which was great and it was rainy so we got into the outdoor hot tub in the light rain which was beautiful. I’m excited to come back for outdoor activities and hammock near Lake Austin.

The resort was exquisite with beautiful landscaping. The rooms were spacious and immaculatey keep , well done to the housekeepers .I had the best massage I’ve ever had at the spa , my masseuse Teri had 27 years of experience and it shows . I had a deep cleansing facial which was performed by another professional skilled lady , it left my face feeling sensational. We took the wine cruise which was lovely and our captain Evan was well informed and personable making it a wonderful experience. There are 3 pools that were all kept at a pristine standard and there were plenty of towels and places to relax . The food was at a 5 star standard and there was a nice selection of wine and drinks, making our whole experience extremely enjoyable, I look forward to returning as soon as possible.

This is my first time ever to leave a review. I know how damaging reviews can be because I am a small business owner for over 35 years. That being said I have never in my 64 years of life ever felt like I have been so taken advantage of as I was with Lake Austin Spa Retreat. My husband had booked a girls trip for myself and two of my friends. We were charged $2352.18 EACH for two nights all staying in the same room. When I went online to check what a double occupancy rate for the very next week the rate for a single occupancy was $2379.04 and the double occupancy was $4145.12.... therefore reflecting a charge of $2072.56 each a savings of $612.96. We were not given any rate reduction for 3 staying in the same room. I have called and emailed with no response.
We were so excited to stay and be pampered at a 5 star resort and willing to pay for it! Apparently the resort was sold a few years ago. Whomever the new owners are they do not care at all about their investment. Sauna was broken, reflecting areas full of weeds, in fact the whole grounds are uncared for. The staff has the I don't care either attitude. The all inclusive price for meals totally understand because they can charge premium for substandard food.
Girls trip will be rebooked but certainly will never be here.

My husband and I live in downtown Austin and came here for a staycation right before the craziness of the Christmas holiday. Our stay was magical. First off the grounds are beautiful - you are literally steps away from Lake Austin with views of the lake from every room. There is a little boathouse where you can take out kayaks, paddle boards, and even the pontoon to wake surf if you want. There are also plenty of spaces to just sit and enjoy the view and being outside. Our room was the coziest, the mattress, pillows and sheets were like heaven - so soft, I melted right in.

The dining situation was also fantastic, beautifully curated menus for breakfast, lunch and dinner that are thoughtful, healthy and full of flavor. I love how they use veg and herbs from their local gardens on site.

The property also has an abundance of activities on site and off if you choose. We did the noon boat cruise that is offered daily and a sculpt + balance class in the Treehouse. But they offer everything from yoga to hikes to cooking classes and art classes.

And finally the SPA - WOW. My husband and I got an 80 minute couples massage and it was truly one of the best I have ever had. The massage therapists were so knowledgeable, attentive and really personalized the experience to each of our needs.

We cant wait to come back!!!

I just returned from my 4th visit to Lake Austin Spa Resort and it just keeps getting better!
I've been on a couples trip with my husband, a girls trip with several friends and a work trip with my assistant. This time, I decided to recharge my batteries and go on a solo trip. It was the perfect 3 day/2 night getaway that I needed.

The all inclusive reservation comes with three gourmet chef prepared meals, spa facilities, endless workout classes, activities and more. I love that you can eat as much or as little as you wish and that the nutritional information is clearly stated on the menu.

This time, I enjoyed Restorative Meditation, Yogalates, Stretch & Mobility, a fabulous Watercolor Class as well as the 90 minute Valmont Energy of Glaciers facial and 50 minute Custom Comfort massage in the spa.

What I love about Lake Austin Spa Resort is that your stay is uniquely your own. Do as much or as little as you want. Did I mention that you can just walk around in your plush robe that they provide? No make-up - no problem. There's a complete ease to the place.

Every staff member I encountered was excellent. There were numerous solo travelers so it didn't feel weird to be there by myself.

I stayed in Room 33, which is a Luxury Lakeview room which has a gorgeous view of the lake and a cozy porch. This particular room has two plush full beds making it ideal for two people. It can also be booked with a king size bed.

I'll definitely be back!
xoxo - Tanya

I'm sriting in the hope that the resort will read and improve the experience. I have been to the resort four times and love it. I always take a friend and stay for two nights. We love the activities and the food and enjoy spa services. This trip, however, was disappointing because the prices had increased significantly and the quality of food and services had gone downhill. That, coupled with the fact that most rooms and buildings need a refresh or renovation, will leave me looking for another resort.

There are countless activities that include gym sessions, indoor (heated) pool classes, culinary experiences, and yoga/body focused courses. They post their activity schedule on the website. You should definitely check it out! Winter time, albeit cold, does not detract from the overall tranquility the resort provides. Enjoy!

That's your 20% tip to everyone for your stay, i.e., waiters, masseuses, etc. BEWARE, though that waiters will still give you a bill with a tip line on it. It's up to you to remember that you've already tipped everyone 20% regardless of the level of service you actually receive.

You can enjoy most of the resort if you go for the day. You can't participate in any of the classes offered on the resort. But many people do exactly what you are asking about. The spa has a restaurant, pool, sauna, showers, patio, retail shop, spa rooms etc. It would be a great day spa.
