Our family, during the Labor Day season of COVID, desired a place of refuge where we could gather and celebrate our traditions yet remain close to home. After studying several options, we chose Lake Austin Spa Resort...and were delighted to experience adventure as well as serenity. The efficient, warm welcome by front desk staff Pamela set the tone for a weekend of delicious, healthy food, luxurious spa treatment pampering, and what I believe sets this establishment above all the others: a pristine natural setting along acres and acres of emerald green waters. Lake Austin's marina and knowledgeable personnel like Paula opened the door for our family to experience unlimited access to kayaks, paddleboards, and two types of water cycles, to explore not only nature, but to stretch our own abilities to balance as we moved across water. Imagine being converted from someone nervous around boats to someone standing upright, oaring around river bends. Imagine, someone unskilled at the nuances of the kayak, now pushing further, further, past vacationing locals and the occasional turtle or fish. A few of our many blessings were the cozy bathrobes, the serene lap pool, the excellent yoga classes, the lazy, shady hammocks, the lack of pretension that had most guests lounging, bathrobe clad, in public spaces, the impromptu cheese plate delivered to our room when our hunger sprang up before our late dinner reservation. Don't let the price point stop you from experiencing this timeless resort! Let off-peak specials or packages like our spa treatments one open the door that might bring new passions into your life. You won't regret that decision!

Hotel's Favorite
I had the pleasure of staying here in January 2020. The property is gorgeous--full of gardens and vistas that take your breath away. I am picky about my spas--and this one is fabulous. I can get bored in a spa--but not here. The treatments are all superb, and the Blue Room one waits in for treatments in glorious. The entire place feels not like you are at a five star resort--but like you are an invited guest to an impeccable private estate, where the service is warm, yet highly professional. The employees here care whether you have a good time, and it shows The Managing Director greeted me at lunch, even though I am not a VIP, and gave me suggestions about how to maximize my stay. The chef gave a demo, and was friendly and took lots of questions. Aside from the Director, Janis Clapoff, I also love Camryn and Sheila, who gave great classes. The food is so good here, that's the only drawback!! I went to lose a few pounds, and really had to control myself. I managed to drop weight because while totally satisfying and first class, the menu has been thought out to encourage healthy eating. I made friends with many women--and discovered most were on their second, third, even eleventh visit! This place is worth the money!

Like most others, our summer vacation plans were cancelled due to Corona virus. I looked for something within the state, and am so happy to have found Lake Austin Spa and Resort. It was absolutely wonderful! We have never visited a 'spa resort', so we were uncertain what we would find. My wife and I simply cannot say enough good things about our experience. The staff, the room, the food, the views, and the spa treatments were all top notch. It was exactly what the doctor ordered. A huge thank you to Esther, Lindsey, Jurita, Ashley, Becky and everyone else for making our visit such a memorable one. We will be back! .

This was my first time visiting the Lake Austin Spa and Resort and will not be my last. When our vacation plans were canceled due to Corona, I looked for something more local. What a magical place. From the moment my daughter and I set foot on the property, we felt transported to a magical resort on the lake. The staff was so welcoming and many remembered our names after meeting us just once. Our room was delightfully furnished with comfy beds and luxurious bath products. The food was amazing and we looked forward to each meal. Be sure to try the hibiscus tea. Coffee, tea, and infused water are always available. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and it is easy to find a secluded spot to sit and relax. Our favorite spot was the dock on the lake. Paddleboarding was so much fun, and we enjoyed morning kayaking on the lake. Wild deer, swans, ducks, and birds can be seen throughout the property. The staff went above and beyond to make sure each guest was safe despite the ongoing pandemic. Our rooms were spotless, staff all wore masks, and I appreciated the fact that all of the guests complied with the mask ordinance as well. I also appreciated the daily temperature checks. Never once did I feel concerned or worried. I will be dreaming of my time here often and can't wait to return soon!

This place exceeded our every expectation. Every person on site or in any way associated with the resort was helpful, pleasant and thoughtful. Everyone knows you by day two; they take the time and they care. Even the GM was available for an interesting chat. The morning hikes are fantastic. There is a great variety and each hike leader was knowledgeable and chatty about the areas we were passing through. The hike leaders were also sensitive to pace of the hike, to make sure it was challenging to people who wanted to be challenged, but doable for those who did not. The food was fantastic. It was delicious and presented well, but it kept to the low calorie and healthy theme of the resort. The lake setting is breathtakingly beautiful and very calming. A hard day of work outs and healthy eating, ending with a peaceful sit on a quite dock; it doesn’t get better than that.
