The BEST place to stay when visiting Austin. Walk to music, shopping, food trucks, eateries, and fun. Make sure to enjoy the patios and the pool. The pool is a great oasis from the hustle of Congress. Great coffee and souvenirs in the lobby.

We booked this motel because we wanted something affordable and local while we honeymooned in Austin. We were incredibly happy with the cost, location, service, and cleanliness of the Austin Motel. I will try to summarize what we liked and didn't like about the property. PROS: -Great location right on South Congress! We fell in love with this neighborhood and... More

I travelled to Austin on my own and needed a reasonable place to stay close to downtown. All of the chain hotels were wildly expensive ($350++) and I just needed a clean, safe, convenient place to lay my head. The Austin Motel has plenty of kitschy personality. I stayed in a single room with a full sized bed. It was... More

Great location not far from Sixth Street in the middle of hip, trendy SoCo. Exceptionally friendly and very helpful staff. Lots of dining and entertainment within walking distance. "Large Single" room (#135) was perfect, getting plenty of social media compliments.

Enjoyed a 2 night stay in Austin with my son The motel is a little quirky but comfortable and fun with good AC and a nice pool Front desk wasn't that knowledgeable but friendly and helpful Next door cafe was pretty buzzy tho we didn't try Location is perfect on S Congress which has several blocks of funky shops and... Experience the weird side of Austin that makes it famous. This old motel was once known for prostitution and is now in the middle of one of the most hip areas to hang out day or night (I grew up in Austin so not sure the motel would like me saying this, but funny background none the less and not... Service: Excellent Customer service Room: Clean and not what I expected for my first stay in a "Motel" Location: In the heart of the SOCO excitement - great eats and unique boutiques One downside is that you may get the rooms on the second floor which are up some stairs. It might be inconvenient with heavy luggage.

Very quirky, very 50's. Amazing decor. Definitely needed a refrigerator and coffee making facility's. Lamps should be checked. Close to restaurants & shopping. Friendly staff, who were most obliging about us having to move out two days early. Loved the heated floor in the bathroom. The sign out the front is truly memorable !!! Made a real talking point. Loved... More

We've stayed here a couple of times. The prices beat anything downtown. Friendly staff, clean rooms, cold air-conditioning, nice sized flat screen and full ice machines. What else could you want? If you need to be waited on hand and foot to the sound of a harp being played by a 100 angels will they feed you peeled grapes...this place... More

Had a wonderful time. I was by myself and could walk many places. I like smaller hotels Don't have to valet and park far away and walk down hallways. Easy access to outside. Joe's coffee next door Lots of restaurants. Can walk to 6th street clubs or taxi pedi taxi. Will recommend.
