Had a quick get away with some girl friends last weekend and booked one of the cottages. A week before our arrival, a concierge wanted to help plan our stay (never been to Arp, just knew it was close to Tyler). So she let me know about dinner times at their on campus restaurant, breakfast options, and Sunday brunch. I though that attention to detail was pretty nice.

Upon arrival, all the staff was very friendly, helpful, and accomodating. The room was cute, cozy, and had amenities that you usually don't see at a hotel - robes, sparkling wine upon arrival, and water bottles at no charge. I think their signature move is the fresh rose in a vase, which was lovely.

You can see the plans to expand their vision into a little destination, no need to leave. With a pool for the summer, fire pits on the chilly nights, miles of walking paths, surrounded by trees and rolling fields, the morning walk was quite nice and the serene atmosphere kept us not eager to explore what lies beyond the property.

Lost vision is evident for this destination location, nested in the Arp woods. Ownership seems to have a clear path to making this a quaint, all encompassing getaway. *Sidenote: If you can make it home without a stray dog, you are better than we are! (*More of a small, Texas town problem than High Hill issue.)

Would go back for sure!

We truly value your business and your feedback! Thank you for your kind words and we hope to see you again soon. We have plans for a girls weekend in February and a wine dinner in March that might be the perfect excuse to come back and relax at High Hill Farm :)

I recently visited High Hill, and I was more than impressed! I had the opportunity to enjoy a five-star dinner at the Cote restaurant on site. Dinner was AMAZING! The Staff was extremely courteous. The house chef, Ryan, came out and introduced himself, and personally asked about our dinner experience.

The grounds are very well kept and maintained. The property features an on-site vineyard, outdoor fireplace, and pool.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Julep bungalow. The room was spacious, and clean! The in-room amenities provided were placed with extreme attention to detail. Also to mention, the personal outdoor space was a nice touch for the personal, complementary breakfast.

I had the opportunity to visit with the owners, which in return heightened my experience. Knowing that they not only care about the success of their business, but the quality that each guest receives, is definitely a plus in my book!

All in all, the experience was one of luxury quality, and I will be returning in the very near future.

This place is such a gem. I went for a solo getaway...some much needed rest for a tired mom and it was everything I could have hoped for. The bungalows have everything you need and the staff makes sure that you have anything beyond that. I had the best food, the best massage and I will for sure be going back. It was the perfect getaway for what I needed. Next, I will either be bringing my friends or husband with me! Can't recommend this place more!

The long weekend getaway was perfect for our de-stressing and health recovery. Came back home perfectly healed from a holiday break at High Hill. The food was delicious and creative. We had a thoroughly relaxing time. The lodging was amazingly comfortable and brand-new. There is no wifi, and cell service was not really available for us. Hence it was easy to disconnect. Got no calls over the 3 days. Perfect. All rooms were fabulous.

Great place for our anniversary, yet close to home! Cottages are comfy, dinner at the restaurant was great. With some good wines. Very quiet during the week, too! Look like they have plans for big expansions. Friendly staff and beautiful grounds.

I had the pleasure of attending a fund-raising event at a new upscale resort in Arp, Texas, which is a few miles outside of Tyler or Kilgore, depending on your point of view. The event was to showcase the new location and raise a few dollars for the East Texas Symphony Orchestra. Before going further, a few matters should be made clear.

1. High Hill Farm is open for business, but is not fully operational. They have some guest quarters available, and can host events such as the fund-raiser. However, they are not booking, as far as I could determine, getaway weekends, or family trips to the Piney Woods at the moment.

2. They plan on being open for regular business by midsummer, and for more information, one should check out their website.

3. While I feel this is an objective review, I am related by marriage to a member of the leadership team. However, I have no financial interest in the operation. I do like the concept, the people who own it, and I do hope to stay there as a guest in the near future.

With the disclaimers out of the way, let me say this. This is a beautiful location, and would be a great spot for a wedding, reunion, or a get-away-from-it-all weekend. The completed bungalows are very well done, and are much nicer than what one might expect at many B & Bs in Texas.

High Hill Farm is a working vineyard as well as B & B or resort. Right now the wine produced is only used for cooking, but the plan is to have regular production in the future. In the mean time, the kitchen is operational, and is focused on farm-to-table cooking concepts. The event I attended was a six-course dinner served on white table cloths in an outdoor wedding venue. Other than dining area being a carefully mowed lawn, one could have been eating in a high end restaurant in Dallas or Houston.

Back to the title of this piece. High Hill Farms is the dream of the Romano family from Dallas. With the help of some business associates and friends from Dallas, they are making that dream a reality, and everyone who takes an interest, books an event, or spends a weekend there will help them achieve that dream. I hope they succeed, as I would love to spend more time there and see if I can whip one of my grand kids at Bocci Ball.

High Hill Farms is fantastic. We stayed in the mimosa cabin, with a nice secluded patio. There are onsite spa treatments available, however we were out for a weekend of wandering east texas. The location was perfect, as we could wander during the day and return "home" to High Hill for a nice evening meal and chat fireside with other guests at the outdoor fire pit.
The meals were over the top delicious, and was Fine dining in a relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast room service exceeded my expectations. For the quality, location, and amenities, this please was a bargain.

My husband and I hosted his birthday dinner at High Hill Farms this weekend and had a fabulous time! The property is simply beautiful and immaculate. Our group of 18 was making plans to return, before we even left! We spent the night in the Southern Bungalow and enjoyed leisure brunch the following morning. The beds were amazingly comfortable! Stay for brunch and enjoy the breakfast enchiladas... YUM!! Our little girls and parents joined us for brunch and the girls ran around outside for hours. You will not be disappointed!!

My bestie and I were fortune enough to find this wonderful diamond in the rough. We stayed in the bluebonnet bungalow and it was beautiful. Fully updated with modern furnishings and very comfortable king size bed. Quiet and quaint. There was a nice pool and vineyard on property. The staff were very attentive and pleasant! The restaurant was amazing! Breakfast was included in the room rate. We will definitely be back!

From the peaceful walks on the vast acreage and grounds, to the yummy food, this place was a true gem! They have a pool, outdoor fireplace area to sit and relax, and a vineyard! We can't wait to go back!
