Revolving door around here and new manager is not meeting expectations. What happened to the previous managers? Joshua and I cannot remember the other manager name but she was amazing. Front desk staff is really nice, always have been.
Lobby area and first floor was closed off. We were there for the International Power Hitting Showcase at Globe Life - If we had known at the time we booked that the property was under such major renovation we would have not stayed here. No place for the team or parents to gather. Outside door area and flower beds were littered with cigarette butts...never cleaned during our four days. Very convenient to AT&T/Globe Life though. Employees were super kind!
We stayed at this hotel because of proximity to GlobeLife Field. Next time we’ll stay somewhere else and in the meantime we’ll avoid Hyatt Place entirely. What can go wrong on a hotel stay? TV not working when getting back at 11pm, check! No hot water in the shower the next morning, check! Not enough towels in the bathroom (1 set for 2 people), check! No edible breakfast, check! Awful customer service when checking out, check! The 1st three problems are self explanatory. As far as breakfast is concerned, COVID-19 is NOT an excuse for getting rid of all amenities, it sure isn’t at Homewood Suites. The breakfast was a rotted apple, a mini muffin and a warm yogurt in a brown bag. Not a mistake either because both my wife and I had the same thing, including we both had rotted apples - so that wasn’t a mistake! No choices, no cereals, no milk, no fresh coffee. We ended up driving 10 minutes to spend $15 for 2 breakfasts at Starbucks. How’s that for “complimentary” breakfast? Finally the bad service when checking out... we dared complaining about the lack of hot water, so to get rid of us, they promised points to make up for it. We accepted and... are still waiting. A lot can be excused, including filthy lobby and elevators, lack of some amenities and construction on some floors. The rest can’t, especially when empty hotels abound with much better service. If you’re in Arlington, stay somewhere else - we will. And stay away from Hyatt Place, there’s no reason to believe some of the problems are not systemic but only local to that hotel - we sure will stay away!…
I like this chain, but at the moment, this particular hotel is under construction on the first floor lobby and dining area. The free "breakfast" is no more than a white paper bag with a small apple and a packaged muffin. Not the level you would normally expect from this chain. A grab bag is a good idea during the pandemic, but I expected more and better contents, Staff were very nice, room was clean, but we moved to a different hotel after a couple of days.
My wife and I stayed here for an evening in October for a friends wedding that was in the area. The good: Attractive price point at $108 all in. The check in process was smooth and friendly. They let us check in early. The room had been recently renovated and was nice and mostly clean. The bad: They are doing construction in the lobby and we could hear noise through out the afternoon. Basically, it sounded like someone was running a blender in our room. It did stop by bed time. They are not keeping the common areas clean. The elevators an guest suite hallways are dirty and the parking lot had liquor bottles and beer cans scattered around. The guest suite common hallways smelled like a fast food restaurant. My wife thought the bed mattress was uncomfortable. If I could have a do over, I would have paid a little more to stay somewhere else, even if it was further from the wedding venue. …
