Detailed Reviews
Great communication with the manager, very peaceful and quiet location, cabin room was amazing, and the private hot tub was perfect, especially after horseback riding. The continental breakfast provided included large, delicious baked goods. Proximity to both the city and the canyon was also very convenient. We would definitely recommend staying here and would love to stay again.

This was our second stay. We stayed in October and fell in love with the location, privacy, and eclectic room design. Its modern, country-ish, Texas-themed, and surprising room decorations kept us delighted and amused. We will be traveling through Amarillo on a regular basis now and there is no question where we will stay.

Starlight Canyon is a suburban oasis with cozy, tastefully decorated cabins and serene, peaceful, immaculate grounds. Each unit features its own hot tub, a welcome relief after a day of hiking or shopping. The caretakers are amazingly friendly and helpful. The property is extremely well maintained. The location is easily accessible to Amarillo, Canyon, and Palo Duro Canyon State Park. If you enjoy peace and quiet, and are seeking to rest and relax, this place is for you.

My husband and I stayed in the Mesquite cabin. We booked the weekend to celebrate our 15th year wedding anniversary. It was the perfect quite place to get away for a little bit. The cabin was very cozy and the home cooked hot breakfast they delivered in the morning was delicious! We are already talking about booking again!

This property is quiet, nice grounds, and secluded. We were given the two night weekend stay as a gift. To get away from noise of the city, this is the place . The property is part of a CCC project from the early 1930’s. The cabin we stayed in, Cottonwood, was modern, and nice size for two. There is a full kitchen in this cabin. The owners serve hot breakfasts on the weekends. The rest of the time we cooked our own meals. We also brought a propane hibachi. You need to bring your own ice and drinks, there is no vending machine. Linens are nice. There is a private hot tub and patio. Is a very clean place.

Hot tub, comfortable bed, large shower/tub. Continental breakfast was great and quick for early sightseeing start. Had breakfast enchiladas once and they were delicious. Very reasonably priced! The hot tub was enclosed with privacy fence and felt great after a day of sightseeing!

The property was lovely. The location is a short drive away from both Amarillo and Palo Duro State Park. The weekend hot breakfast was delicious with extremely large portions. Check in and check out were flawless. The hosts made sure that all of our needs were met.

We had a lovely experience at Starlight Canyon. Our room was comfortable, cozy, and clean. The property is beautiful and relaxing. The food was fabulous. The hosts, Nate and Liz, were very accommodating, genuine, and helpful. We will be back. Highly recommend!

There is a reason to spend time in the panhandle...the “refuge” called “Starlight” Canyon”. Wonderful, equipped & clean cabins. A special, stone former state park main building. Rockers, big trees, patios, private hot tubs and more! Nearby hiking in a canyon that belongs in Colorado, “Palo Duro Canyon State Park” rounded out a great experience.

We came from the DFW area for a weekend get-away about 5 hours away from home. We viewed online and loved the video and thought it sounded like a nice place. That was an understatement! The landscape, the views, and the setup of the cottages were beautiful! The owners are friendly and accommodating and have thought of everything! The Pinion Room was amazing! The décor, the hot tub, the soaking tub, the kitchenette, the private patio and back yard, and the scrumptious breakfast was the icing on the cake! So disappointed that we were only here one night! We loved it!!

Yes, you can see stars. Not far enough from the city to see the Milky Way, etc., but I enjoyed looking at the stars while we were there.
I don’t know if they allow animals or not.
