STAY: 2022/06/15-16. For $85, I'd say a good value. Just wanted a night's sleep, and I got it, with no hassles of any kind (no noise, no service issues, decent WIFI signal). Great location - I wasn't hungry, but if you've got an appetite, there's a lot to choose from within a 2-5 minute drive. I don't recall feeling anxious about my car, but I note other reviewer(s?) that suffered break-ins. In these times, it's nice to get a good night's sleep without fuss and for good price.
Our car was broken into… no security and no cameras. Large homeless area ( found them to be very helpful) Not just our vehicle early Monday morning another as well. OWNERS PUT CAMERAS UP & HIRE FULL TIME SECURITY!!! I must add the staff was EXCELLENT and EXTREMELY helpful and kind. The rooms clean and comfy. I BLAME MY EXPERIENCE ON THE OWNERS… they know and local police stressed to have businesses install security
Great location. Clean. Kind attendant on duty. Easy check-in and out. Spacious, clean bathroom. Cold A/C. We really liked how the head of the bed was positioned on an interior wall instead of on the wall of the adjacent room. (Very unique room lay-out.) Well worth the cost. Would stay here again. However, be so, so careful if making online reservation. I thought I was reserving directly with the hotel itself but inadvertently used an intermediary agent (which I always avoid using) who added a $36 "processing" fee. Would have been cheaper to call the hotle and make the reservation myself. After my own (after-the-fact) investigation, I first realized this after reviewing trip receipts to my credit card statement. I went back online to confirm and realized that I had somehow been "tricked" away from the hotel's actual reservation site. So, be careful of using "hotelvalues.com" or you will be stuck paying a ridiculously high, non-refundable fee. Other than that (which really was not the hotels fault), it was a good stay.…
It was okay. The room was fine but the lights were off in the hallway with emergency lights on. It was a little odd but by morning the lights were on. The common areas are nice. The breakfast was ok but very limited. It is convenient to I-40 and to the Quarter Horse museum.
We left another hotel in Amarillo to come here because of the good reviews and stayed 3 nights. They did not clean the rooms or dump the trash or bring fresh towels. They said this was due to a staffing shortage. The breakfast was modest and that's ok but some of the food was frozen and we are not certain it was even semi-fresh. The pool and hot tub were out of service. This was a very disappointing stay and we will not be back.
Beautiful hotel but POORLY MANAGED. Tried to get a shower at 7:30 a.m. and no hot water. Desk said it was because everyone was showering and hot water depleted. I had to wait an hour. After waiting, hot water appeared but then noticed no soap in the room. Went back down to desk and they said they were out of soap. Never, in hundreds of hotels in which I've stayed, have I run into either of these issues. My recommendation is to go stay at the Super 8. You'll get hot water AND soap there.
We were in town for a one night visit. Check in was quick and easy and the staff was pleasant and helpful. Our room was clean and just as pictured on-line. My family enjoyed the room and we found everything clean and taken care of. Hallways were quiet and didn't hear loud guests though we had neighbors nearby. The pool and hot tub looked in great shape but didn't get time to visit. We missed breakfast and it would have helped to have a later breakfast than cut off at 9:00am. Property is about 100 yards off highway so no noise and next to Cracker Barrel. Great stay and would recommend for families.
Have stayed here many times over the past ten years but covid has clearly taken its too. Keys to outside doors work on about 25th swipe, when we eventually got in the room it was cramped and as a King suite was pretty dismal. The kitchenette had a mouldy fridge that was not switched on, one fork, one knife, two mugs and two bowls. It did have some saucepans but what you are meant to do with them is a mystery as there is no cook top. Keurig did not work well, probably needs cleaning, toilet sounded like concorde was taking off in the bathroom, plug ins by bedside worked intermittently. Breakfast used to be eggs, sausages and all the trimmings, now a few tired bagels and coloured cheerios. Sorry Ashmore, it was good whilst it lasted but we will look elsewhere next year.
One night stay on a long journey. Hotel was fairly easy to get to once you figure out Amarillo's traffic pattern and U-turns. Plenty of parking, check-in was easy but no one (staff or guests) was wearing a mask despite Texas' high covid transmission rate at the time. Despite that, staff were pleasant enough. Room was decent-sized, clean, with a king-sized bed. Bed was comfortable, HVAC worked well, and the room could be made dark for sleeping. Fridge, TV, and wifi worked well. Plenty of outlets for charging stuff. We left very early in the a.m. so we did not sample the breakfast.
-PROS- - beautiful - massive - super long the shining/poltergeist hallways - sink outside of bathroom - pretty nice view of a large pond from our window -CONS- - thinnest 1 ply toilet paper ever The toilet paper here completely baffled us. It was the thinnest 1 ply toilet paper we have ever seen/used. They do understand that this will only make us use like 5 times more than we probably would have used of decent 2 ply toilet paper due to paranoia, right?
