We enjoyed our stay at the Maverick Inn. It is a cute motel, it’s in a good location, and our room was clean. The pool was nice but it was a little too cold for swimming while we were there. We stayed in one of the rooms that has a kitchenette with a microwave, full size refrigerator, sink, and a two burner cook top. A few pots & pans, a coffee maker, a few cooking utensils, a colander, a few knives and a couple of wine glasses were provided. Some dishwashing liquid was provided too. However we were a little surprised to find that there were no dishes, forks, spoons, or paper towels in the kitchen. We asked the front desk if those items were supposed to be in the kitchen and was basically told that what we found in the kitchen was it. So be sure to bring your own plates, bowls, cups, forks, spoons, and paper towels. And bring your own coffee filters too if you want to drink any thing other than the coffee that the hotel provides. Luckily there is a Dollar General store next door to the Maverick Inn where we were able to pick up some of these items for cheap.

We stayed here a single night in October. The rooms a very comfortable and have all the amenities.
Parking was ample enough (we were on motorcycles). They supply earplugs in all the rooms because of the proximity to the highway and the train track, but we didn't hear anything while we were in our room.
Check in was easy - our room was open and the key was on the desk. We never saw anyone, but we had paid in advance.

Our room was very clean and spacious with a full kitchen. A nearby train may wake you in the middle of the night but they provide ear plugs which was a nice touch. For under $100 a night midweek this is a great value and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

This was way over priced for what you got. There were absolutely no amenities!! Granted, I did like the rustic decor but the room was tiny and the bathroom was so much worse. The shower stall is literally 3' square and there was barely enough room to use the toilet. The toilet seat literally fell off the toilet. They claimed to have a grab and go breakfast which in my mind means coffee, juice, pastries, donuts, fruit, etc. There was nothing-- they had left a note stating that due to covid they would give you a breakfast bar and give you coffee to make in your room! There was no one in the lobby to check in after 3 at all. The only person in view when we arrived was a homeless man. They left our receipt with all our personal information: name, address, e-mail address, last four digits of our credit card number, phone # with our room number taped to the front door of the office along with 7 other peoples' info!!! They did not have the pool area open to even sit in on a lovely evening. No where did it mention that the pool was closed. The patio area had enough seating to accommodate two rooms of people. No room for us. I went to check out in the morning after posted hour (8 :00) for opening to tell them about the toilet seat but nobody was there. We left angry.... The only thing that I can say is that the website photographer made a silk purse out of a sow's ear. We never saw a single person who worked there!!

Booked for two nights. Then had a change of plans. Only stayed one night. To depart after one day we were charged $50 due to 48 hr cancellation policy. Deluxe queen room was anything but. They also didn't have their complementary water as advertised. Room bed was worn out.

Hello, I am so sorry to hear your stay was not what you had hoped for. I am not sure why you were charged $50 for a cancellation fee because our policy is actually a full nights stay. The front desk has plenty of water bottles available upon request! My apologies if they did not ask you if you would like any during check in. As far as the bed is concerned, I personally prefer a more firm mattress myself. However our mattresses were just recently replaced. We hope we have another opportunity to make this up to you and show you just how great we can be. Safe travels and until next time. Regards, Sarah

Before we arrived we received an email stating that our king room rate was $15 more than our original booking. When I called the hotel Tiffany agreed to honor the original, and still overpriced, rate. The room is a good size but the bathroom is very small and uncomfortable. No place for toiletries and limited shower pressure. The bed was OK but the pillows were either too soft or too hard. The room was extremely hot. No shades on the window that faced the roadway and poor lighting. And, where was the remote for the TV? The refrigerator minimally kept our food cold. It's a charming little place but not worth the money.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback. Our Classic Kings are some of the smaller rooms on property. These rooms are original to the building of the hotel back in the 1950's. We do our very best to preserve these historical properties and understand if it was not what you had expected. The extra charge sounds like it was for an extra guest. Since those rooms are smaller we can only house so many guests before charging for any additional guests. If you ever have any issue with the room, appliances, or noise on the street we ask that you please come talk to the front desk for assistance where we would be more than happy to better accommodate you. Thank you again and we hope to see you again next time! Best Regards,

This was one of the worst places we have stayed at in a while. The receptionist was nice at check in, but did not like to deal with problems, and no one is available for assistance after 7:00 PM. The floor in our room was dusty, had trash in most of the corners and needed mopping to the point you had to wear slippers or socks to keep your feet from getting dirty. We had to use a towel to wipe the floor in the bathroom, but she did not want to give us fresh linen because we had elected the green rate. The first night the heat didn’t work and when asking her to help with it she told me it was because I was doing it wrong. I actually can read instructions but she did not want to hear anything was wrong. Our coffee pot was clogged and dirty and when asking for another she did not have anymore after trying to pass off another broken one that fell apart when she handed it to me. The room was dark and gloomy and one of the lamps was missing the light bulb. The shower head also needed cleaning, it sprayed water everywhere. A good soak in vinegar would have helped. At checkout, I was ignored so could not address some of the issues, to include the toilet stopping up. I would not recommend my worse enemy stay here.

This is a NO STAR hotel. It is filthy, lacks basic service and amenities, and nobody cares. We had a coffee pot but no coffee, no Kleenex, a shower head so clogged we had to remove it to shower among other things. I requested the tile floor be mopped while we were out but over three days, never done. We wore socks continuously and I mopped the area in front of the bath vanity with a wash cloth - see picture of wash cloth and shower head. When we left I looked under the bed to see slippers and other items left long ago among the dust. No vacancy anywhere else or we would have left. Avoid at any cost!

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback, and we are so sorry to hear that your experience was not as you had hoped. We take pride in the cleanliness and tidiness of our hotel, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is not the experience we want for our guests and would like to urge you to please reach out to our front desk for assistance. We also have an after hours number posted both at the frond desk and in your brochure for after hours assistance. As stated on our website and in the welcome brochures we unfortunately are still not offering stay over services to keep our staff safe during this COVID-19 pandemic. However, we would have been more than happy to move you to another room if the first one you reserved was not up to standard. Again, we appreciate you reaching out and hope you give us another chance in the near future to make it up to you and show you just how great we can be. Safe travels and best regards,

This is tricky because it probably is one of the better places to stay in the area. And it definitely wasn’t bad. Maybe some small tweaks need to be made? The room was so dark. If we stay again I will be bringing a lamp or two from home to help bring some light into the room. The room was spacious but it would have been nice if some of that spaciousness had gone to make the bathroom less tiny. Getting ready in the mornings sharing the tiny bathroom and no light in the room was not great.

Also, when we arrived there were nice, white towels in the bathroom, but the replacements they brought each day were almost like beach towels? And threadbare wash clothes. And sometimes no replacement wash clothes. I had to use a sock to shower one night because we weren’t brought new ones and the office was closed. Housekeeping was inconsistent. Some days we came back to our bed made, trash take out, fresh towels. And some days none of that had been done.

The light outside of our room wasn’t working so coming home at night was a little scary. It was a very dark and isolated entrance.

Basically love this place. Good location to get around West Texas. Park in front of the room. Pets allowed. Love the knotty pine paneling. Shower in our unit was unique - a step down. However, the cleaning staff is sub par. I threw away 4 shampoo and conditioner bottles and two used soaps that previous guests had left on the top of the shower. Training staff, especially in times of covid is mandatory. Didn’t look under the bed. You need to invest in better quality pillows. We bring our own. You need to purchase another bedside table, as the person sleeping on the left side has no place to put keys, glasses or phones.

Don’t think I would say that they provide breakfast. As others have answered, just snack type items. But coffee is the important thing and they do provide that.
