Our room was very clean and spacious with a full kitchen. A nearby train may wake you in the middle of the night but they provide ear plugs which was a nice touch. For under $100 a night midweek this is a great value and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

In the past when visiting Alpine, my family and I would stay here. This trip, in the course of a 6 day stay: TV was broken for 2 days, AC was not working properly, we purchased a fan, toilet was stopped up, we had to buy a plunger and fix, the lock broke on our door, so my husband stayed at the hotel one day until it was repaired and missed a day out with our family, we had NO room service. NOT ONE day. We had to take out our own trash, we had to go find clean towels. We had a block of 3 rooms, another room also had a broken AC. They used their personal cooler to catch all of the running water. The manager, Michelle, yelled at me to check out in front of my kids! I have NEVER been treated as poorly as we were at this hotel and our bill was over $2,000! Which is fine if you get what you pay for. The only thing positive I can say is Rocky, the weekend manager was a dream.

Needs a few tweaks for a big difference. The room did seem clean and is awfully cute, nice to be somewhere different then typical hotel. Grounds are awesome location easy. Yes there is a train through town they provide ear plugs which is nice. The bad, the ac unit makes a constant humming, room 12 that is even obnoxious through ear plugs. The 2nd bad is the shower instantly backs up with water which is rather gross. Not sure if all ac here do this crazy buzzing etc but when all you want from a motel is clean and quiet after being at the national park this was disappointing and made for an uncomfortable night. Also no one was at the desk at 530pm... thankfully our key was left out.

We had never been to Alpine and selected the Maverick Inn based on reviews. It is a great find for this small town. We stay in Room #10 and it had a private deck off the spacious bedroom. The bathroom was not large but nice. Yes, like other reviewers, no one was at the front desk when we arrived, but they arrived shortly after. The pool is very clean and the grounds are kept maintained. This will be our choice on future trips to Alpine.

The Maverick Inn in Alpine,Tx. Is a great place to stay!! I highly recommend this one. I will stay nowhere else when I go back in the fall. Quaint and rustic beyond describing!! Way more personal than the chain hotels in town . Just a great no frills place to stay with a great pool!!

This was one of the worst places we have stayed at in a while. The receptionist was nice at check in, but did not like to deal with problems, and no one is available for assistance after 7:00 PM. The floor in our room was dusty, had trash in most of the corners and needed mopping to the point you had to wear slippers or socks to keep your feet from getting dirty. We had to use a towel to wipe the floor in the bathroom, but she did not want to give us fresh linen because we had elected the green rate. The first night the heat didn’t work and when asking her to help with it she told me it was because I was doing it wrong. I actually can read instructions but she did not want to hear anything was wrong. Our coffee pot was clogged and dirty and when asking for another she did not have anymore after trying to pass off another broken one that fell apart when she handed it to me. The room was dark and gloomy and one of the lamps was missing the light bulb. The shower head also needed cleaning, it sprayed water everywhere. A good soak in vinegar would have helped. At checkout, I was ignored so could not address some of the issues, to include the toilet stopping up. I would not recommend my worse enemy stay here.

We showed up at the property looking for a room. We walked into the office but found no one. After waiting for 15 minutes trying the occasional yoohoo we called the number on the website. The phone across the desk rang and we got a recording telling us nothing. Found a card on the desk with another number which I called. The person who answered sounded quite inconvenienced telling me that the office is closed after 4 which contradicted the card which said 8. She said we are full to which I replied a no vacancy sign would be helpful. They weren't full as there were only 2 cars on the whole place. It left a bad taste for us to be treated poorly.

Pros- cute, friendly, nice grounds, clean Cons - the pool water is so crazy cold that it’s just nice pool to look at, room air conditioner is so noisy, trains go by with their whistles blowing loud, bed is worn Stayed in queen room.

Basically love this place. Good location to get around West Texas. Park in front of the room. Pets allowed. Love the knotty pine paneling. Shower in our unit was unique - a step down. However, the cleaning staff is sub par. I threw away 4 shampoo and conditioner bottles and two used soaps that previous guests had left on the top of the shower. Training staff, especially in times of covid is mandatory. Didn’t look under the bed. You need to invest in better quality pillows. We bring our own. You need to purchase another bedside table, as the person sleeping on the left side has no place to put keys, glasses or phones.

This is a NO STAR hotel. It is filthy, lacks basic service and amenities, and nobody cares. We had a coffee pot but no coffee, no Kleenex, a shower head so clogged we had to remove it to shower among other things. I requested the tile floor be mopped while we were out but over three days, never done. We wore socks continuously and I mopped the area in front of the bath vanity with a wash cloth - see picture of wash cloth and shower head. When we left I looked under the bed to see slippers and other items left long ago among the dust. No vacancy anywhere else or we would have left. Avoid at any cost!

Response from Holland Events, General Manager at The Maverick Inn
Responded Apr 25, 2021
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to send us your feedback, and we are so sorry to hear that your experience was not as you had hoped. We take pride in the cleanliness and tidiness of our hotel, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is not the experience we want for our guests and would like to urge you to please reach out to our front desk for assistance. We also have an after hours number posted both at the frond desk and in your brochure for after hours assistance. As stated on our website and in the welcome brochures we unfortunately are still not offering stay over services to keep our staff safe during this COVID-19 pandemic. However, we would have been more than happy to move you to another room if the first one you reserved was not up to standard. Again, we appreciate you reaching out and hope you give us another chance in the near future to make it up to you and show you just how great we can be. Safe travels and best regards,
