Granite Springs holds a special place in my heart. We have had several family reunions there over the last 3 years and love the spacious beautiful lodge as well as the gorgeous setting. The kitchen is awesome, we are able to easily cook for our entire crew which is over 100 people. We also enjoy hiking and 4 wheeling on the trails and kayaking while staying there. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a relaxing beautiful get away!

My family had the pleasure of attending my families reunion at the Granite Spring Lodge in Alexandria in August. The Lodge was more than I expected. The lodge is spacious and more than beautiful.Very nicely decorated.Once you walk in the front door you feel like you are at home. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to accommodate our reunion. The setting was serene and peaceful. So much to do with so little time.Hiking, fishing, canoeing, talking around a camp fire, relaxing with a good book, star gazing.Need I go on.For those of you who love the outdoors this is a MUST place to stay. The new owners have really put life back into the Lodge. I can't wait to go back. Thanks again for your WARM hospitality.

We just had a family reunion here. We had the whole place. Lodge, cabins and cottage. The lake was definitely the highlight! Swimming, kayaking, etc. It is especially beautiful after dark with a campfire on the shore and a full moon shining across the water. The hosts were very accommodating with anything they could do to help. Rooms were great. The place was clean.

I recently stayed here for a four day training retreat and the facilities are gorgeous. There is a large central meeting room/dining area in the center of the main lodge a commercial kitchen on the north wing and an open floor plan kitchen/living dining area in the south wing. The lodge overlooks an old quarry that is filled by a spring. There are kayaks, canoes, and a paddle boat available for guest use. The water is very deep so life jackets are a must and children need to be supervised near the water. The service is excellent and the rooms are nicely appointed. There is a great venue for outdoor weddings overlooking the spring/quarry. Good hiking trails, a skeet range and heated kennels if you are coming for the hunting season.

I just returned from a trip to Alexandria, South Dakota. Our son in law is being transferred to Mitchell, SD. The family came to look at new homes with our daughter and son-in-law. The lodge had approx. 2,000 SF, 3 bedrooms that slept 8-9 people. A full kitchen, dining room, living room, 2 bathrooms, one equipped with a full shower and whirlpool tub, the other full sized bathroom with a shower/tub combo. We cooked every meal in the lodge. There are several decks overlooking the back of the lodge, walking trails, a lake, fire pits, a creek with foot bridge. Many views, bald eagles, geese, ducks, deer, turkeys, and many more animals to enjoy while sipping your morning coffee on the many decks available to you.
Need to hold a family reunion, wedding reception, baby shower, bridal shower, or any other gathering? There's also a large commercial kitchen located next to a huge seating area perfect for hosting an event.
The owner, Brian is quite personable, friendly and very accommodating. I'd recommend the lodge to anybody. It's an awesome place to visit, and only 15 minutes outside of Mitchell, SD.

Great people from the office staff to the hunting guides, a number of lodging accommodations to choose from and the meals are excellent. The pheasant hunting is outstanding with a variety of challenging fields to hunt wild roosters.

The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and the property is absolutely beautiful, especially considering its priced similar to the average decent hotel.
I stayed in the row of connected rooms near the middle of the layout. The rooms are small but very cozy. The concrete block walls help keep things quiet. Wifi and cable are provided.
There is a beautiful pond with a beach and some gravel trails.

"The lodge has a large meeting room and 9 guest rooms. The cabins are actually an 8 unit motel. And the cottage is a four bedroom home with a fully furnished kitchen. There is also a game room/man cave near the cottage with Foosball, pool, TV and board games. There are also camper hook-ups available"
"The space is available to groups. There are 3 bedrooms, one with a full sized bed and 2 bunk beds, the lower bunk is full sized, the upper twin. The next bedroom has a full sized bed, the larger bedroom in the back has a sofa, 42" tv, and two queen sized beds on each side of the room. All rooms were comfortable, the blinds block the morning sun if you wish to sleep in just a little."
