A very charming and historic southern inn. Excellent restaurant downstairs, especially for breakfast which was included in our stay. The rooms were well sized, lovely antique furnishings throughout, soft and cozy beds. The lobby and bar area were both very inviting after a long day spent on the trails. My only recommendation for improvement would be to update the bathrooms. Ours was in great need of an update, and we would have appreciated a walk-in shower vs. a bathtub.

Hotel's Favorite
We spent two nights at the Wilcox, and we would not change a thing. Check in was fast and efficient. We were offered complimentary glasses of sparkling wine which we enjoyed in the lobby while waiting for friends to arrive. The lobby is very relaxing, with comfortable seating and interesting art. We enjoyed reasonably priced cocktails there both nights before dinner. We stayed in Room 210 which is a junior suite. It was spacious, with a large sitting area which was perfect for drinks and conversation with friends after dinner. The rooms are nicely appointed with comfortable beds, high quality linens, and fluffy towels. Turndown service was a nice touch. We stayed at their sister property, Greystone, so we had an idea what to expect for breakfast. The menu had lots of choices, the coffee was excellent, and the service was courteous and efficient. Parking is very convenient in the angle parking in front of the hotel. The way the spaces are angled and spaced; it would be impossible to get a door ding unless someone was trying. The hotel is a short walk from the main shopping area and The Alley. The only question I had was “Where do they find all the happy, smiling, friendly, eager to please people?” It seemed like every staff member greeted us, and everyone was looking for a way to be helpful.

Exceeded my expectations! Such charm, character and, most importantly, authentic hospitality. Special shout to the following; Reba: Warm welcome and check in Jess(I think): Great breakfast server Leslie: The best bartender! She is so attentive and nails the little things that are so important. A true asset to the operation. (Also the shower was hot with great pressure!) Can’t wait to return in the future. Thanks for a great stay

Had a wonderful overnight stay here and it is on my list for a return visit! Aiken is a lovely spot but even more so because of the beautiful Willcox. The hotel itself, restaurant, bar, lounge, and even spa are excellent. It’s simple and elegant with attention on service and experience over unnecessary fussy and lavish details. Room was very spacious, tasteful and comfy with good bathroom. Restaurant was fantastic but a snack at bar/lounge is good too. Service everywhere is great. Had the best deep tissue massage with Jonathan—he has the magic touch! No sauna or steam room facilities in spa but prefer keeping it simple snd delivering on excellent treatment. Love Willcox!

Our experience at this hotel was the best southern hospitality that we have had in a very long time. Everyone from Audra who took our reservation to the housekeeping staff could not have been more accommodating. Our King room was beautiful and very clean. The bathroom was spacious and very clean. The turn down service was top notch! They even filled a fruit induced pitcher of water that was most appreciated. The sheets, towels and robes were all very high quality. The restaurant/lobby/living room space was beautiful and such a wonderful atmosphere to enjoy cocktails, lite bites and dinner. I would give this hotel 10 stars if I could. Highly recommend!

The Willcox took my BFF’s breath away the first moment we arrived to a full house of people and their pets enjoying jazz night on a Thursday. Of course, two flutes of French Champagne at check in added to the ambiance before we made it to the room. The room…brought tears to her eyes… because of the welcoming they provided to MoonPie. A luxurious oval bed, her own water and food bowls, plus a pet menu to die for. Kudos Willcox. Moon Pie approved. Luxurious four poster king bed welcomed us, the linens enveloped us, the pillows nestled us into a good night’s sleep. The breakfast offered with our stay was five star, the service exceptional. Come for a day, stay for a few. Enjoy the complimentary bikes, the saltwater pool and allow the staff to make you feel special.

The front desk staff was generally rude and unfriendly. When I booked one of the vacation rental houses, I was told we could use the hotel pool but when we got there, I was told we couldn't. We had a major roach infestation in our rental. On the good side, the ambiance and decor were pretty. The food was good and the restaurant waiters were nice. Beautiful property. Mostly just disappointed that the lady manager was not nice and the other front desk people seemed poorly informed about stuff like using the pool if renting one of the vacation houses. Also took forever to check in.

The Wilcox staff is very friendly and accomodating. The is the best part of the hotel. Rooms are dated, rugs need replacing, and please, please paint some of the doors and trim in those rooms. I would imagine the decor could be considered "campy" but I was not impressed. This is a very small hotel, with a bording house feel. My room, 207, was cramped and the bathroom was practically non existent. I had to step up into it, over cracked tile, which made for a hazardous trip in the middle of the night. The hotel and my room was not clean and it was shabby. I reserved a deluxe King room, and the bed was a Queen. (!) The pool outside was...meh. I would not return. Too small and not clean enough for my taste.

Thank you for staying with us. I always appreciate our customer feedback. I am very pleased that you found our staff friendly and accommodating. I aplogize and I am disappointed that you were not pleased with your accommodations. We are indeed a boutique hotel with a total of 23 rooms. Were were built in 1898. Our guestrooms are by no means cookie cutter rooms, each with their own layout and design. Your room 207 is a king room, but perhaps you moved rooms at some point during your stay? We want all of our customers to be overwhelmed with their experience and of course wanting to come back. I would welcome the opportunity to further discuss the details of your visit with you. I truly hope that you will consider visiting us again I would be more than happy to personally assist you with your reservations. Kindest Regards, Tina McCarthy General Manager
