This beautiful historic and charming hotel is in downtown Aiken. The Hotel is an Historic icon. The elevator is the oldest running one in the South. The staff is friendly and helpful. We stayed in a room with a view of the direct downtown Aiken. I loved it. I would recommend this old charming hotel to anyone traveling for Business... More

Remember that it is historic, Oldest elevator in South Carolina. Have stayed there over 200 times in the last five years. Hotel staff is excellent to superb. Several bars, outside smoking area, bands, karaoke, 20 places to eat within two blocks, I have been to almost all over the years. Award winning brew pub just a short block away, one... More

We didn't plan to stay here -- it caught our eye as we were on our way to one of the new hotels on the outside of town. Loving old hotels like we do, we did a U-turn, wandered hesitantly through the front door to the front desk and after meeting the clerk, we immediately wanted to stay...especially after she... More

I know this hotel is about to undergo a MAJOR redo and there is good and bad to that. I rather enjoy that the rooms aren't $150+ per night. I stay here often as I have friends in the area and want my own space. The hotel has a ton of character and the staff is generally very friendly. I... More

My wife and I decided to stay at this hotel on our way to Columbia, SC for a football game. We thought it would be nice to stay in a small, out of the way, city with some history. The website looked great and the City of Aiken looked like what we wanted. When we arrived, we entered the lobby... More

My husband and I stayed in 2014 in the main building on the third floor. The room showed some wear but was spotlessly clean, plenty of towels and the bed and pillows were comfy. We had a great time w/staff going up and down the old elevator. We did go to the bar for a few drinks and bar food... More

We were greeted warmly at this old hotel (haunted?) by Serena and rode up with help to the third floor (sort of) in S Carolina's oldest elevator, we missed by 1 foot. The room (340) is old and the bathroom door doesn't close all the way. Towels are few and not very nice to the touch. TVs are old analog... More

Our class reunion was downtown and Hotel Aiken was the meet and greet bar. The hotel has a lot of history, but it is not for a Family with kids. I did not have my child, but this needs to be said. It has a bar and it is surrounded by bars and very LATE night life. Please remember, It... More

During our stay a man burst into our room at 2am. The individual was drunk and somehow obtained a key. The intruder came back several times and we where required to hold the door shut since the deadbolt did not work. The police were called and front desk, manager and owner did virtually nothing except call a holiday inn so... More

I stayed at this Hotel on 8/15/15. The staff knew it was our anniversary and had a chilled bottle of Champagne waiting for us in our room! The room was immaculate and overlooked Downtown Aiken. Everyone there was extremely kind and accommodating. I also accidentally left my bankcard there and it was safely kept until I could retrieve it. I... More
