This place is fine, especially if you like time warps... it's a large 1970s motor inn that's far from town
You don't have that many good hotel/motel choices in Ashland, which is a very charming little town. I was here in winter, which probably isn't the best time to visit, but I was driving the 5 down from Seattle to LA and this was a good stopping point. The location is not close to anything in Ashland that you want to see (I mean, it's miles to the Shakespeare Festival and the speed limits are low), but it's a good option and priced very well compared to other places in town. Parking is free, which is good as you will need a car to do anything. This hotel was built in the 1970s and is being maintained well enough, but believe me, it feels like you're in a time warp. The room was really big but I think the bathroom was original. There are long hallways to your room and you can park right in front of your room if you want (but you'll have to go the main entrances to get inside), so you get that sprawling motor inn feel which doesn't exist in too many places anymore. Stylistically, they've gone with a 1970s vibe which isn't totally effective... it's less throwback and more, oh, they took this stuff out of storage and put it up on the walls. Breakfast was included and was decent... there is a waffle maker which I can't believe they let you operate on your own. Seems like a hazard for small kids, but hey, if their insurance will cover it, why not? It was a good waffle. I will say the front desk staff here was infinitely more friendly than at the Plaza Inn, which is newer (circa early 1990s) and in a much better, in-town location. So much so, I think I'd choose this place over it the next time I come back through town.
Dear TripAdvisor Guest, You are correct, we are not located in the downtown area, we are right off 1-5, just 3 miles from the downtown area. The Ashland Hills Hotel sits on 14 acres of land which gives our guest plenty of room to stretch out. We appreciate that you would choose to stay with us again the next time your travels bring you to Ashland. Definitely come back during the summer when our pool is open, we can ride our bikes and if you like tennis or pickleball we have a tennis/pikcleball court for use. We look forward to seeing you again. Thank you, The Ashland Hills Hotel and Suites

    Terrific value
A super spacious comfortable room with table and chairs was a nice bonus. Beds were very comfortable and a large bathroom with an extra sink outside the bathroom was appreciated. Great location close to freeway and into town where there many good restaurants.
Dear TripAdvisor Guest, Our premium king rooms are one of our best sellers. It is nice to have the extra sink, especially if there are two of you! We look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Ashland. Thank you, The Ashland Hills Hotel and Suites

    Perfect for family plus dog
Excellent place for a family plus dog passing through on a road trip! Good location, good amenities (pool, breakfast, tennis courts). Very friendly staff and large, clean rooms. The family room had features I really like: a separate room for the kids, and two sinks and vanities (one in the bathroom, the other just outside it) so two people can get ready at once. Also the bathroom had a proper door that closed (I hate the pocket door fad that seems to be so popular at the moment - noisy and no privacy) and the patio door with fly screen meant we got fresh air without bugs or the dog running out. So glad we stayed there and would visit again any time!
    Thank you

There is a play area, 2 tennis courts, fitness room, EV charging spaces, suites, great breakfast buffet & dining room. Staff from front desk to housekeeping was friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. Feels a bit Brady Bunch in there. The hotel isn’t designed in logical fashion so you may always be walking out if your way to get to your room. Breakfast is just ok. Not close to the walking part of town and this is the main reason I would not return.

Nice! Clean, quiet and comfortable. Stayed for three nights and enjoyed our stay here. We made the mistake of staying across the street at the Best Western which was a nightmare experience including bug bites during the night. So this was a very welcome change! Enjoyed the Luna Cafe too.

Very clean, well maintained and friendly helpful staff. Has all the amenities, pool, hot tub, tennis courts, bikes, large room (king) and beautiful grounds. Nice, hot continental breakfast. No added resort fees. On site restaurant is pleasant indoors and outdoors and has quality food at a reasonable price. Easy access for travelers on interstate 5 and also for those interested in Ashland plays.

Pleasant looking hotel outside town. Check in OK but confusing to find the room directed outside when past the foyer and pool corridor would have been more direct. Incorrect luggage delivered twice but let's face it, a simple mistake and no one died! Rooms OK but no safety deposit box and cleaned third day unless you request sooner. Breakfast limited but you won't go hungry. I travel a lot so I'm not being harsh as I use at least ten hotels a month. Overall a pleasant stay. Thank you Team Ashland Hills.

First off, southern Oregon is beautiful at this time of the year. Nature was still sporting green, flowers are blooming, and the sun was keeping things at a very pleasant 70-80 degrees. My daughter and I were celebrating Mother's Day a little late. We arrived Friday afternoon and after a very pleasant and fast check in we went to our room. Reception asked if we preferred a ground floor or upper floor room. I asked if there were any rooms with great views on the upper floors but none we left. I asked if we might have a ground floor room with a pool view and she was able to accommodate. The common areas are nicely decorated with orange-colored accents and spacy lighting fixtures. The complex is huge, much bigger than I expected, and we had to drive to the nearest entry to our room. I was able to snag a handicapped parking spot but we had to walk quite a way and we found the doors were difficult to maneuver due to key cards and heavy doors. There is significant walking involved to make your way around the facility. There are also numerous stairs; however, there are elevators available. The room was a double queen and very spacious. There was a desk and chair, two armless chairs and a small table where we were able to play cards. There were two chairs on the small patio. The beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows. I did notice the duvet had a tear but it wasn't a problem. At check in we were told there was no housekeeping unless you called the front desk and requested service. We were staying two nights, so I found that interesting but not problematic. We decided we'd have dinner on site as we were tired from the drive. The Luna Cafe is a bright, attractive area but the hours are very limited, and you order at the counter. Our sandwiches and drinks were good. There is a very nice bar, but it isn't open. There is a smaller bar in the Luna Cafe. There was no music or entertainment. The night was quiet, and we had a good rest. Breakfast is included with the room. There is selection of dry cereal, instant oatmeal, bagels, fruit, make-your-own waffle, juice, coffee, tea, milk, yogurt, tortillas, and two eggs/meat/potato dishes. I'm probably forgetting somethings, but you get the idea. It was adequate but far from thrilling. The hot dishes weren't warm enough. Dogs are allowed in the dining area. I thought it was cool, but I overheard some people grumbling. We utilized the Waterstone Spa service at the hotel. The main spa is at a sister hotel but we enjoyed our in-house experience. On Saturday afternoon we took food that we'd brought with us to the pool and spent the entire afternoon poolside. We also had a bottle of wine and some plastic glasses. They do not allow glass at the pool, but plastic is allowed. We forgot an opener and the front desk has them available, free of charge. The pool was busy and fairly small, but it was so pleasant to be around people. I've missed interacting with others during the pandemic. We had dinner reservations off site and asked the front desk to arrange a taxi. We were told they didn't not make arrangements with taxis but gave me the information necessary to make my own.

The Ashland Hills Hotel made for an easy stopover on our way back to Portland from California. Located just off the freeway and a short drive to downtown Ashland for dinner. The property is huge, but you can park near your room. The hotel was spotless. We chose the Premier King, which had a comfy couch and chair, so was really like a suite and included a small fridge and microwave. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. Nicely decorated in a 70's retro style. The only negative was the breakfast which was just okay. It got the job done. Hard boiled eggs instead of scrambled and muffins didn't look enticing. They did have a waffle iron and bagels. They had good Greek yogurt and granola, which we enjoyed. For fruit, they only had grapes and apples. Grapes don't appeal for breakfast and apples are hard to eat. It would be nice to have bananas and berries or melons. The breakfast room is also not very inviting. It felt like a banquet room.

What's not to like? The rooms were large and clean. There's food and a bar on site. (My lavender cocktail was outstanding.) The large bathroom area in our room had two sinks. The website price was beyond competitive. We would definitely come again.

Spacious rooms--ours came with a balcony, a microwave, and a mini-fridge. Pool and hot tub as well as an onsite restaurant. Plenty of parking and easy on/off the I-5. The best part, though, and why I choose to give these folks my money? It's clean, the staff is great...and the fee for pets is a flat $25. I dislike hotels that gouge travelers with outrageous pet fees.
