Ashland hills hotel is in beautiful Ashland Oregon. The grounds are lovely and the rooms are clean and spacious and tidy. There is a hot tub and pool which is not heated in the winter but it’s great for doing cold plunges after a hot soak. Doing this actually got rid of my debilitating chest and back pain that I had had for over a year. The breakfast bar is upstairs and there is lots of room but if you’re not really into carbs don’t expect to find anything to eat as they only offer cereals waffles yogurt fruit and English muffins a sausage and cheese or egg and cheese. I asked if they could just make me hey sausage and egg patty but they seemed irritated and after that seemed irritated every time I was in the breakfast room. The breakfast staff was not very friendly but the rest of the stuff always was. The coffee was excellent though! There is also a weight room That doesn’t have that much going on just a lot of the same machines but overall I stay there was very nice.…
I got locked in the elevator for half hour on my way to work, the hotel charged a daily fee for a crappy breakfast, and a daily fee for once a week room cleaning which I went the first two weeks of my 2 month stay without them cleaning a thing even though i called them every day about it. I had to go to a store buy my own toilet paper. They made me sign a 30 day minimum contract which other hotels with suites do not do. I had to practically beg them to honor the national government periderm lodging rate. The Luna cafe was way overpriced for a limited menu. My fridge /freezer stopped working, I contacted the front desk to get it fixed everyday for 4 days so my food went rotten and stunk the whole time and the room service did not clean out the fridge even though they cleaned the room at least two of the days. The hotel did not replace it so I checked out and found a Marriot about 10 minutes away. They refused to give me stash rewards points for my stay. The whole point of signing up as a rewords member is to get points for nights stayed. I will never stay there unless I absolutely have to. The only thing that was good was the pool and tennis courts.…
We spent a wonderful weekend in Ashland and stayed at the Ashland Hills Hotel and Suites. We stayed in a Premium King room with a balcony that overlooked the pool. The room was large, had a refrigerator & coffee maker. Very comfortable bed. Breakfast was included and served on the mezzanine level. Very nice breakfast buffet with hot egg sandwiches, waffles, cereal, yogurt, bagels, coffee, teas and juices. The fitness center was small but well equipped with elliptical, treadmill and weights. The property is located off of Hwy 5 and has beautiful views of the hills. Slept well very quiet room facing the pool.
I rely on the reliability of trip advisor ratings and try my best to post honest reviews so that other travelers can also book with confidence. The reviews for The Ashland Hills hotel are outstanding but our experience was not quite. We had our 12 year old small dog with us and so we’re booked in one of their pet friendly rooms which was in the back of the property. It was a suite with a separate living area. Small kitchen and spacious. Plenty of parking out back and although we checked in close to midnight, the person at the front desk was pleasant and cordial. Our room and the hotel’s decor seem very dated. Carpets need a deep cleaning and the rooms could use a refresh.
We stayed here on our trip from Ontario Canada to San Francisco and back. Specifically, this was our stop between San Francisco and Portland. I booked it because it looked nice and had good reviews. Turned out that that was a good choice. Our King room was comfortable. We did have to go down a few stairs with our luggage and the TV was difficult to use. Otherwise everything was great. We had dinner at the Luna restaurant. My wife had the steak salad bowl and I had the meatloaf. Both were excellent. We also liked the breakfast sandwiches the next morning as well.
This is a gem of a hotel! Super cute, retro and beautifully decorated! I had a superior king, which was HUGE! Lots of space, sitting area. Every room has a balcony. The restaurant on site is awesome. I had one of the best BLT's ever. Service with a smile. I will defiantly return. This is like a mini resort, great pool, spa and the breakfast in the AM was a great addition. Well Dene!
We were on a two week road trip from Los Angeles to Vancouver and back, so we stayed at many different hotels. After seeing the reviews for The Ashland Hills we were excited to get back to a full service property, especially since it is privately owned. Many times older hotels that have been remodeled show signs of cost cutting but not here. The staff was very friendly and the room redo was flawless! No chipped tubs but rather large rooms with a cool retro vibe and the most comfortable beds we encountered on our trip. We ate dinner in their cafe Luna and it was great! If you want more bang for your buck be sure to give this hotel a shot, you won’t be disappointed.
Our extended family stayed here for a 4 night "reunion" because Ashland is half way between Northern Oregon and the Bay Area. Great hotel with a great pool and tennis court. Restaurant food was good! Good service at the restaurant. Helpful staff. This hotel appears to have survived the pandemic without much damage. The decor works, its decorated a little like a very modern Howard Johnsons. I would recommend this as a great place to stay if you have kids and people of all ages in your party. An easy drive to Ashland and also to great, close by hiking trails. Only complaint is very lumpy beds in all of the 2 Queen rooms that our party stayed in.
I had a 5-day/4 night stay at this hotel. Initially, on checking in, there was a delay but the staff tenuously worked at correcting it and I thank them for that. We were given a beautiful room surrounding the pool and as I had 10 grandchildren in various rooms around the hotel I was delighted to go out and sit with them while they swam. The staff was warm and welcoming and we will be back whenever we can. Thank you all for such an enjoyable stay.
Another great stay! My husband and I have stayed here many times over the past 15 years when we travel south to many parts of California. The rooms are large, spacious and comfortable. We prefer a ground floor that has a patio. The grounds are well kept. From the patio you can walk to the pool. This was great when our granddaughter traveled with us. The stay includes a full breakfast. Very reasonable rates too. We will return.
