My daughter and I have stayed at the Romeo Inn for 10 years and counting. It's our little private getaway to relax by the pool or hot tub and enjoy the wonderful hospitality of Don and Deana. The inn is in a residential neighborhood, perfect for morning walks in the hills or to the center of town. It's possible to walk to the plays as well and avoid the parking hassle. We look forward to this trip every year and enjoy catching up with our hosts.
We have been making the trip to Ashland since 1976 and over the years have experienced many of the lodging options in the city. In 1996 we stayed at the Romeo and it became our first choice of lodging in the city. It is within walking distance of theaters, clean, quiet, with a beautiful backyard pool and garden for relaxing during the day. Don and Deana are wonderful, relaxed hosts and are always up to date on the theater, restaurants in town and other activities in the area.
Each room has its own character and they are all lovely. Great breakfast! Nice little pool and hot tub. And a nice walk to the theater. We love Romeo, and have been coming here for years. 2020 will be no exception.
We’ve been coming to stay with Don and Deana for so long, it just feels like home. The Stratford suite upstairs above the garage is wonderfully comfortable and quiet. I love the swimming pool and hammock and would gladly stay all day going from swimming to swinging. With breaks for wine and Deanas homemade cookies! A special treat is when their kitty comes visiting. Sunny is adorable.
My husband and I (from Portland), another couple (from the Bay Area), and a good family friend (from Seattle) just finished a 9-day stay at the Romeo Inn in Ashland. We’ve been making annual treks to Ashland for at least 40 years, and over that time we’ve stayed in a number of the local B&Bs, as well as the town’s landmark luxury establishment, the Ashland Springs Hotel. We discovered the Romeo Inn in the mid 1980s, and we’ve not stayed any other place since then. (We stayed once at the Ashland Springs Hotel but only because the Romeo Inn was fully booked.) The innkeepers, Don and Deana Politis, keep the inn spotlessly clean and bedecked with lovely flowers from their own garden, serve delicious and healthy breakfasts while accommodating guests with special food needs, are knowledgeable about the local restaurants as well as the plays, and are helpful with any questions you might have. Perhaps most importantly, they are unfailingly gracious, relaxed, and good humored. The inn has a comfortable and inviting common living area where guests can gather to visit or just read. The patio is so lovely that we stay indoors only on those relatively rare occasions when it’s either too hot or too cool to be comfortable outside. We give the Romeo Inn 6 out of 5 stars.…
