Once a year we find our way back here and this year wasn’t any different even with the Shakespearean Festival shut down. There is still the swimming pool, the food and the walking trails too! The breakfasts were as usual out of this world. It is close to wineries and restaurants where you can dine outdoors. We spent 3 glorious days, took pictures of a mother Deer 🦌 and her twin fawns nursing on their lawn, and fed their ducks, ( they provide duck food). We felt safe there as well as comfortable. We are so glad we didn’t cancel our reservation, because of the festival being canceled because it was so nice to get away! It was so peaceful too!

Fortunately I stopped here for one night in the middle of a move to Portland. Cara & Dan have a spectacular, beautiful, peaceful property that was a welcome refuge from our current status. I called in advance to book a room direct, and Cara was very helpful with describing all of her room options. When I arrived, Cara gave me a tour of the place, and then offered me a complimentary upgrade to their exquisite Sunrise Suite. The solace of the suite’s private outdoor deck, plus the fireplace and large bathtub all meant I couldn’t refuse. (I desperately needed to take a long soak in a hot bath after too many hours of driving.) The suite’s private deck was a welcome respite from which to enjoy the sounds of nature and some terrific to-go soup picked up from a conveniently located nearby restaurant. I enjoyed a wonderful breakfast alone, served in their beautiful dining room overlooking the Coi pond, waterfall and gorgeous gardens. This brief overnight stop made me feel as though I’d been anointed as “Cinderella gone to the ball” for a night. I can’t wait to return, when my husband and I can relax and spend several nights on this very special property with some very kind, thoughtful and gifted innkeepers! Every detail of this place has been well thought out, including the exceptionally comfortable mattress that enabled me to sleep better than I have in months. Big thanks to Cara, Dan and their incredible team for offering me a visit that I’ll always be grateful for, and will never forget.

There’s so many great things to say about this special place just south of Ashland. A beautiful and peaceful setting. You feel like you’ve escaped to the country, but will find it easy to get to town for theater and restaurants, or out to the Southern Oregon wine region. Warm, friendly, helpful innkeepers and staff. Lovely and comfortable rooms, and the best breakfasts at any inn. We’re repeat guests and look forward to our next visit to Country Willow to enjoy the ducks, deer, and hawks in a stunning setting.

I was in town for only two nights, and during that time, Kara and Dan went above and beyond as hosts. To be honest, I usually care much more about the room and setting and am not usually picky about host interaction and hospitality, but they are great. In addition to ensuring I had a relaxing and enjoyable stay, they welcomed me despite a very late check-in and did me a HUGE favor upon my departure (thank you again, Kara!). I was in town for work but have to admit that it was also fun thanks to my stay at Country Willows. I had two beautiful breakfasts here, ate way too many of the complimentary cookies in the main house, and enjoyed stepping outside to a hike each morning. I loved the sunrise suite and the peace and quiet of the entire property. Hopefully I will have a reason to get back to Ashland and will definitely stay here again.

My wife and I were celebrating the 50th anniversary of the day we met. I had looked at several B&Bs in the Rogue valley and surprised her with an overnight at Country Willows. Nestled on a hillside on the southern edge of Ashland is this beautiful B&B. It was only 25 minutes away from our home and provided the perfect romantic getaway. Kara, the proprietor, walked us to our room and she was warm and friendly. In the check in area there are all kinds of homemade treats if you need a snack. The room was beautifully decorated with a fireplace to make it nice and cosy. There is a lovely sitting area with a pool and gazebo outside the suites. Ducks come to visit and look for a handout. There are nice hiking trails surrounding the property. We got up the next morning to a beautiful breakfast of quiche, breakfast meats, juices etc. It is all homemade and very delicious. This beautiful establishment has all the charm you could ever ask for and I highly recommend staying there if you are traveling through the area or just want a romantic weekend.
