The location is great but the adjacent room noise is almost un bearable. Ground floor rooms mean you will here heavy stomping until they go out or to bed. The low rates attract families with loss of kids so be prepared for the noise

Not very customer-service oriented. Would not provide change for the laundry machine; was advertised a warm breakfast, but the 'Covid-safe' breakfast consisted of poptarts in a paper bag; Breakfast coffee served in a 6oz cup to save on costs... Blamed other reductions of service on Covid-19 (even though those services are provided next door). The experience could have been a significantly better with adjustments in mgmt.

I stayed this week at the Plaza Inn and Suites when leading a group to see shows at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Covid has left the hotels and restaurants in Ashland extremely short-staffed - but despite having only 4 people to clean the whole hotel each day, the staff could not have been more lovely or helpful. The front desk staff were wonderful. I'm very grateful to have stayed there. The price includes a choice of three breakfast bags and coffee/tea each morning. The rooms have microwaves and fridges. Very close to the OSF theaters, and you can hear the lovely stream from the hotel. I loved the walk over the bridge to get to the theaters!

The Plaza Inn sent me an email saying they hope that they exceeded our expectations.
I wish that were the case, but we were VERY disappointed in our stay. Their amenities are nothing like they show on their website.

Here are the issues that I can remember we had:
Super dated and impractical decor.
TV was crazy hard to get working in order for us to watch normal TV (and I’m a techy)
No maid service despite our staying 6 nights (had to take out our own trash, leave our towels out for cleaning, collect our own coffee pods and cups).
Working ice machine only on the second floor
Deadbolt didn’t work in our room
No little table and chairs in our room to eat our crappy little bagged breakfast on.
Crappy little bagged breakfast (doesn’t compare with what your website shows)
Filthy balcony with spider webs, leaves, and dirt. Two little chairs out there but no little table.
My 90 year old parents, who were in their own room, had a clogged toilet. Instead of taking care of it, like any other hotel would, the front desk person handed my dad a snake to deal with it himself. Crazy.

It was basically like staying at a Motel 6 at 3 times the price. I realize that Covid and staffing are issues, but we have stayed at several other places in Oregon and California recently and they have made things work quite well - like they cared about their customers. The money they're saving on staffing (and breakfast) should be passed on to their customers via lower rates.
I can’t stress enough how disappointed we were. The very least they could do is update their website to reflect their current situation (no hot breakfast, no hot tub, no snack and wine reception, no gym…).
Bottom line: stay somewhere else

We recently revisited this hotel. We chose it due to previous experience and the fact that it is dog-friendly. We also took into account the free buffet breakfast, fitness center, hot tub and afternoon snacks that were promised. Unfortunately, none of those things were available "because of covid." I can understand that they probably got rid of all of them because of staffing issues, like everyone has these days, but they could have at least let us know before the day of arrival. They did offer a bagged breakfast (bagel, yogurt, hard boiled eggs and an orange) but it's not the same as we experienced before. Additionally, no room cleaning was offered during our 5-night stay. When we needed new towels or linens, we had to request them at the front desk. If we wanted our floor vacuumed, we had to beg to borrow a vacuum cleaner. If our trash needed emptying, we had to get a new bag at the front desk and put our trash outside our door. We were told that all of Ashland does the exact same, but I found it hard to believe. They were very courteous at the desk, and they welcomed our dogs, and we did find some outside spaces where our group could congregate, but I just wish we'd found them sooner. I also wish that the AC had worked better on the 100-degree days we encountered.

It's in a beautiful spot and that's the nicest thing about it. The room was OK, pretty much everything was just OK. I will say I would have gladly paid another $25/night if the front desk clerk wasn't a grouch, and if the room cleaning actually involved cleaning (which I asked for at 4PM and grouch said they were still doing it). I would also suggest that if you are going to claim it's a hot breakfast, you have some scrambled eggs and meat protein if some kind. No fruit whatsoever. I get post pandemic struggling, but attitude, bad housekeeping and lame breakfast should not be the result.

Still, it wasn't terrible and the back is gorgeous.

I've stayed at this hotel several times as I visit Ashland somewhat regularly. I always stay in the smaller building towards the entrance as that is the only building with rooms that are pet friendly and I travel with my dog. Sure the decor could use some updating but my rooms have always been very clean and comfortable. I love the location of this hotel as well. It is within walking distance of everything in Ashland and I also like that it is situated on a residential street that makes it quiet and more relaxing. Free wifi is always good (I work while I am here) and there is plenty of free parking available on the property and on the street as well. Staff are friendly and helpful. I've never had an issue here and have another reservation already booked. This is not a luxury hotel but it is clean, very comfortable and I enjoy staying here.

We booked last minute through Hotel Tonight and got a very nice rate. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was a good size and was clean and well appointed. Although they make a lot of their pillow selection, note that you have to call the front desk and request a different pillow. We wish we had done this! The pillows on the bed were way too tall and too firm and we did not get good sleep. The beds and linens were nice, however. The water pressure in the shower was strong. The hotel is conveniently located close to restaurants and shops along the creek, and an easy walk to anything downtown. NOTE: If you're traveling without a pet, be sure to ask for a room in the main building, not the pet building.

Not bad, but be aware if you book through Expedia or another third party site they may put you in the “dog building” whether you have a pet or not. Then, if you want something else, you’ll be paying more. Then there is the half-hearted attempt at “breakfast”. Due to covid-19 there is no in-house breakfast. Instead, you’ll receive a cheap pastry and flavored yogurt. How difficult would it be to offer a pastry from a local bakery and a piece of organic fruit? You might want to pick the Ashland Springs, a historic hotel, at $20.00 more. I wish I had.

This hotel is well located with a good physical plant, but the decor is dark and tired, and the staff does not seem to try very hard. My major complaint is about the breakfast the hotel serves. Of course, everything is influenced now by the pandemic, but what they serve is barely a snack let alone a breakfast. The could have packaged offerings that are larger and more edible. Or they could reduce their price to make up for not serving breakfast.
