I love staying when traveling through this majestic valley surrounded by beautiful mountaineering. Richard, Joanna, and the staff in both the Hotel and Restraunt are wonderful and helpful iin all ways. The rooms are all river facing with relaxing lodge chairs to enjoy the serenity. Come up and stay a night or two. Plan your wedding on the grounds or... More

Absolutely a place you do not need to visit. Overpriced. 5 bucks for canned beer. 9 dollar wine glass of 1 Buck Chuck. Travel 5 more miles to Jacksonville and stop at any market for better fair. This place was on Hell's Kitchen. Still in hell. Purgatory won't resurrect this place.

Five star for location, five stars for the homemade grits, minus four for grounds and dining experience. Dusty, unkept entrance, with outdoor dining deck along a beautiful river front. However, much like the front entrance, cobwebs all over rails, deck flooring dirty and much need of repainting and cute tables with significant paint peeling and chips. Really took away from... My friends got married here in June with a group of about 40 people. The venue was great. Call out to Rob in the bar and kitchen for being so amiable and helpful. The lodge was perfect for a wedding of this size or even a bit bigger. The meals were great and the dancing and dining area just right.... More

Attended a wedding at the lodge. The site was beautiful and a great setting for an outdoor wedding. The staff worked really hard getting each detail right. The downside was that there was only one bathroom for guests so the lines got long. This is a must see site for pretty pictures especially with the river running along.

As others have noted, this is not a five star b&b - nor would anyone want it to be! It is absolutely fabulous the way it is (more of a hippie paradise). Our room (the cattlemen) was ridiculously spacious and we were lucky enough to have the balcony to ourselves (it is shared with one other room) overlooking the river... More

We stayed at the Applegate River Lodge three nights while exploring southern Oregon and Northern California. The hotel was a beautiful log cabin style and our rooms were large. The place is a little quirky, with their resident deer, Sugar Bob and the staff. The food at the adjoining restaurant was very good, but the manager was away and the... More

We spent 2 comfortable, enjoyable nights at this beautiful property. The lodge is truly well built, spacious and appointed with many interesting objects. Our room was actually a suite since it had a queen bed downstairs and another upstairs. We had a spacious balcony which overlooked the stream. The bathroom had a deep tub with a hand held shower. In the... More

We checked in for ONE night. The ground floor room STANK of cigarette smoke. (There was an ashtray right outside the exit on a bench where someone on staff clearly REGULARLY smokes as the ashtray was overflowing... this was within 3 feet of the exit, which was ironically posted with a sign that says "No smoking within 10 feet" citing... I'll start by saying we are locals. We have been going to The restaurant and Lodge since they opened. We have rented out the entire lodge for special occasions and had the restaurant cater the food. We stopped by last week to talk with the owner about renting again for a special venue. We walked in but nobody was around.... More
