I was working in Newport, OR , but because of my tight schedule, I decided to stay halfway between Portland and Newport. Amity Flats was a lucky find! It was beautiful, comfortable and filled with thoughtful extras like complimentary wine and fudge (what a great combo!). I stayed in Nekia, and the king size bed was one of the most comfortable I have had the pleasure of sleeping. I truly enjoyed the notebook which gave the history of Amity, Amity Flats and the owners, Rob and Barb. It gave me a more personal connection to my stay. Although I could not take advantage of the location on this trip, I do plan to return and enjoy Oregon wine country from Amity Flats. It's the perfect place!
This place is worth a visit just for the room alone. It reminded me of a hip New York loft in a rehabbed industrial building, and in fact, that's what it was but it beautiful Oregon wine country. It was beautiful, inviting, relaxing and impressive in every detail. My favorite surprise was the ping pong table on the top floor deck. How much more fun could there be in the world - sipping wine and playing ping pong in Oregon's perfect summer weather. And the location is just wonderful. Amity itself is a small, compact, very cute town with everything you need - from a waffle bar to a fun local Mexican restaurant with great salsa. And it's very central to all the vineyards and wineries in the area.
We stayed in Amity Flats on our hiking trip. Coming from Texas, the end of May stay was the perfect place to escape the heat. We stayed in the Jory which was just perfect! Beautifully appointed, very comfortable and lots of little extras from a bottle of wine upon our welcome, to fudge and fresh coffee for the french press. They even left fresh farms eggs from their farm! our son and our nephew were very comfortable in their room too (Nekia). The location was perfect. We were hiking on Mt Hood in the snow one day, and enjoying the beautiful coast the next. Silver Falls was near by and of course the wineries were everywhere within a few minutes! We loved playing pink pong or cards while enjoying wine in the evenings on the deck. We loved common grounds coffee and enjoyed restaurants in near by McMinnville, newborn and Dayton. We highly recommend this place!…
My husband and I spent two nights at this hotel. They only have 5 rooms but each one is decorated differently and have different feels. The hotel is in an old remodeled brick building above a wine tasting room. I love the contrast between the old and new. Bed was amazingly comfortable, as was the entire room. We used the kitchenette to make coffee in the French press they provided. Also arrived to find fudge made by monks on our bed. Super good! There are a couple of good restaurants and wineries within walking distance but it's also a quick drive to McMinville for lots of options. I can't wait to stay here again!
