I stayed recently in December/January. The boy manager is Greg Johnson. (narcissist) I thought Greg Johnson and I were friends but... When I mentioned my credit for the lodging taxes, he became UNHINGED!! Oregon law is the same as in many other states. If a guest stays over 30 consecutive days, the guest is a LEGAL resident. If a guest stays less than 30 consecutive days, the guest is a transient. If you are a guest for 4 weeks... You are a transient who pays lodging taxes. If you are a guest for 5 weeks... You are a legal resident who is to be REFUNDED all state and local taxes!!! Greg Johnson is trying to steal over $200 from me. I stayed over 6 weeks........Monday, December 14th to Saturday, January 30th. I spent around $3,500 at that property. He's trying to stiff me for over $200. (WOW!) I'm an Elite Diamond member with Choice. I'm a wonderful guest - always. Once a week, I'd bring a Costco chicken to the front desk. Once each weekend, I'd bring a dozen donuts from Winco to the housekeepers. The hotel is okay but the Internet connection gets dropped often. (It just disconnects out of the blue.) THE problem is the boy manager! He was abusive. He mocked me. He tried to intimidate me. WHY? Because I opened my mouth and asked about MY refund. (All state and local lodging taxes are to be refunded to ME......not to them!) THIS IS THE LAW! Greg Johnson thinks he's above the law. I personally gave Greg Johnson a case of his favorite soda pop (expensive). We were friends UNTIL I realized the ass is trying to STEAL my hard-earned money. The professionals in the hospitality industry handle it as follows: "Sir, we do appreciate your loyalty. Thank you for staying with us." "You'll see a credit on your credit card. That is your lodging tax refund." "Again, thank you for choosing us. If you need anything, just holler, okay?" That is how you do it..........NOT: "Let's kick this guy out before he asks about that lodging tax refund!" That's what Greg Johnson did. He tried to kick a legal resident out (unlawful ouster). AND he stressed me out by mocking me and berating me. I told him to STOP stressing me out but he thought it was FUNNY! I'm serious. I'm in my 60's. I'm a stroke survivor. And he thought stressing me out was funny. I'm 100% serious. Greg Johnson is WICKED! Doing wrong is fun for a fool. (Proverbs). He became UNHINGED over my request for my lodging tax refund. I spent $3,500 and he's trying to now stiff me for over $200........really? I'm taking him and the owner to court. They WILL lose and they WILL pay all court costs. This is the complete truth and I felt a need to share. What if you spent $3,500 on a business and... Later found out that the business is trying to steal an extra $200 from you? YES! You would be angry. Thank you. The godless are WICKED!…
My second time staying in the hotel and it was just as good as the first time. The hotel is very clean, the staff is friendly and attentive and the price was great. COVID protocols are in place so no need to worry. I will always stay hear when visiting my daughter in Lebanon.
We recently lost power at our home in Salem for 12 days. We stayed at a few hotels the first couple days and finally found this place. This hotel was much, much nicer and enjoyable than any of the other hotels we stayed at and some of the hotels were much more expensive. The staff was great, Greg at the front desk was very friendly and accommodating. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were amazing.
We've stayed in similar priced hotels in Albany and Salem Oregon over years, but this was our first time at the Comfort Suites Linn County Fairgrounds and Expo (Albany). We could not have been more happy with our selection. The accommodations were very nice and roomy, the bed was super comfortable and the staff at the front desk was great. Breakfast, which was included in the price was far better than most other places we've stayed. The hotel had easy on and off freeway access, but far enough away that you don't hear any freeway noise. Also, there are plenty of restaurants just a few minutes away. We definitely will be back and this time we plan to bring swimsuits and try out the pool.
This hotel is the best and the employees are the greatest, Joyce and Teresa especially. Hotel is always clean, great breakfast and very welcoming. I would recommend staying here to everyone visiting Albany or traveling through.
