Our family stayed here for one night while on a roadtrip - it is conveniently located to OU and pet friendly which was what we needed since we were traveling with our two dogs. Comfortable room, though unfortunately like many hotels, the walls and ceilings were very thin so I was woken up 3-4 times throughout the night due to normal activities in the rooms next to me and above me (alarms going off at 5:30am, someone arriving around 12am, etc.). The hotel restaurant was convenient and we grabbed a bite to eat for dinner - the menu was varied but the food itself was not very good. Our server Shea was very friendly and attentive. Overall, we would recommend.

Great hotel! My husband and I stayed a couple days after Christmas and being alumni, choose the OU Inn over the other hotels in the area. The room was super spacious, clean, and the pillows on the bed were AMAZING. The layout of the hotel is a little weird (some very long hallways), and the lobby was almost completely under construction, but otherwise, a super nice place! Sadly, their much-hyped breakfast buffet was not being served the morning we were there (their winter breakfast schedule was a little quieter). The bar looked cozy though, and there was a cooler with snacks and a counter that served coffee.

My only complaints were that despite how quiet the hotel was the weekend we were there, we wound up across the hall from a couple who brought their dog that was presumably suffering from separation anxiety. As soon as they left their room that morning, the dog whined and howled nonstop. I appreciate the OU Inn being pet friendly, but please place your other guests away from those with pets when possible.

Additionally, we had a lot of issues with the room temperature and the thermostat. It worked perfectly fine when we arrived in the afternoon and seemed to be functioning when we went to bed, but halfway through the night it kicked into overdrive and the heat started to go up despite the setting we had it on. It wasn't sweltering, but it was enough to make it so uncomfortable that we both woke up and tried in vain to get the AC to work again. It briefly cooled down again, but the heat was back on full blast by the time we woke up to the dog across the hall.

Nonetheless, it was a great stay and we would still absolutely come back.

The rooms were large and very clean. Staff was personable and helpful. The service and food at Cutlers restaurant was excellent. We commend April Mae for her helpful and friendly attitude. Because we booked several rooms for wedding guests we received a great rate and complimentary breakfast. It is located within walking distance of the university and downtown. It was also close to the Dairy Barn which was our wedding venue.

We spent one night here Aug 25th and it was a superb experience. There were several things that made this stay great. First, we got a great price from Trivago/Agoda. The facilities were very clean and laid out very well. They have a very nice sitting area around the pool complete with an outdoor fireplace. The people we dealt with were top notch also. Dani, who checked us in, was excellent…very professional and very friendly. We were traveling with our dogs and she explained the dog fee, etc. and gave us a dog bag that they prepare for the dogs. It contained a bowl, bottle of water, toy, list of pet-friendly restaurants and dog parks in the area, and a coupon for 4 strips of bacon at the restaurant in the hotel. Dani also made the effort to give us a first-floor room with a patio door so that we could take the dogs out easily. We thought these details were fantastic. We had breakfast in the restaurant and had another great experience with our server Andrea. She was so friendly and had the perfect level of attentiveness – checked in often enough but never pestered us. We stayed at several other hotels on this and other trips but none have been as pleasant as our stay at the OU Inn and Conference Center.

Vickie and I went to the wine dinner on 6/17/2022. We've been going to these for years. At this dinner the wines were OK. The food , however, is another story. 1. The Venison meatball was dry and tasteless. 2. The noodles with cheese were also dry and tasteless. It was supposed to have some kind of liquid cheese on it but it just wasn't there. 3. Next came the beef which was over cooked and again, dry and tasteless. 4. The dessert was very small and very average. At $85.00 per person and in such nice restaurant, we were expecting much more. We will not be patronizing these so-called wine dinners anymore until 1. the chef learns how to cook and 2. the restaurant learns how to present the food properly. The Ohio University Inn has my contact info so they can contact me if they have any questions. Charles Yeago Athens OH.

Stayed at Ohio University Inn while introducing a friend of mine to Athens! I can't say enough how amazing the stay was from the time we checked in until the time we checked out. Everyone was so very friendly, accommodating and made it so easy during this crazy time. The room itself was perfect, very clean and comfortable. Both of us travel for a living and stay in many hotels across the countries and this was by far one of the best. A+ hospitality. Big shout out to the General Manager Michael for making this stay extra special and one to remember, it's hard to find people who truly care about their jobs, and paying that special attention to detail, he went above and beyond. Thanks for an incredible stay!

A small group of motorcyclists travelled to Athens to ride the great roads in the area, called the Windy 9 by the Chamber of commerce. We booked 5 nights at the Ohio University Inn and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. After breakfast in the on site restaurant every morning, we spent several hours exploring the area and riding, before returning to the hotel mid afternoon to enjoy the outdoor pool. The weather was unseasonably warm, so the pool was the perfect place to relax and unwind. We had dinner every night at Cutlers restaurant, eating outdoors most evenings. We took advantage of nightly specials and had an overall good experience. We had great service from the wait staff, a special shout out to Shea and Marlo!
Due to COVID, the rooms were not made up during our stay, but anything we needed was just a phone call away. The property is beautiful and I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and restaurant.

We stayed at the O.U. Inn while visiting our son, who is a student. The location is very convenient to the campus and the staff we encountered were very friendly. We had booked a deluxe queen bed room, but it was unavailable, and we ended up with a room with two full-sized beds. The room was unremarkable, but decent. The level of cleanliness wasn't great. The furniture in our room had a layer of dust on it and there was hair from previous guests in the shower. We ate at Cutler's and although the service was slow, the food was excellent. Overall, it is a good place to stay for a campus visit, but probably not worth the cost. Next time we visit, we will probably stay elsewhere.

We were traveling west from Maryland and came upon the cool little town of Athens, Ohio. Distinctly a college town with they typical old town college atmosphere. We arrived on July 6, 2022 and found this beautiful University Inn for our accommodations for the night. Our room was in the rear addition, which was great for a peaceful sleep away from the highway. Our ground level room had both a front door (opens to hallway) and a back door (opens to a private patio and the courtyard of the Inn). The courtyard is beautiful and has a large outdoor fireplace. The room had all the amenities one would appreciate including a very large flat screen TV. Walk in tiled shower and very comfortable beds. We dined in the Bunch Of Grapes Tavern as the restaurant was closed due to a shortage of staff. All the same menu though. There is a nice wooded park area next to the inn for taking a stroll after dinner. Service here was wonderful and everyone we met was very friendly and helpful to us. We would love to stay here again when we would have more time to explore more of beautiful Athens.
