Great hotel. Excellent service from Dani at the front desk who provided helpful hints and tips when needed. She went above and beyond the call of duty to make me feel welcome and prepared for my meetings.
If you need to stay in Athens, Ohio close to the OU campus, the OU inn is your best option. Nice room and very friendly and professional team. Dani at the front desk was very kind and quick. Good food too at the restaurant.
Good stay for an executive program with 2 weeks duration. Anna and Shelby were very welcoming, working hard to support people. Dani also supported the Brazilian team during the staying. Hotel comfy, a little far from Court St. If you are walking. Walkable places in the surroundings.
Was in Athens for a quick visit. Stayed one night at the hotel. I have stayed there many times in the past (graduated from O.U. in 1981) but the place seemed to be in much better shape than I remember. The bed, pillow, shower, and towels were all good. The staff was friendly, and I had time for a beer int he hotel bar and restaurant which is very nice. Still the best place to stay in Athens.
I had a nice room overlooking the pool (closed, of course). The hamburger I ordered for lunch in the bar was delicious - juicy and cooked perfectly BUT my drink was weak and not good. All in all, it was an enjoyable one night visit.
Perfect spot. This place just has a good feeling to it. Comfortable, low-key elegant, and most of all, welcoming. Dani at the front desk genuinely makes you feel at home. And if you travel with your pooch like I do, your well-behaved dog can accompany you to breakfast and get a serving of bacon on the house. We'll be back for sure.
Stayed 4 nights. First day the hot water was luke warm. Relayed issue to front desk and next 2 nights had hot water. Last day had only put cold water. The person at the front desk was aware the hot water heater went out the night before in that building and the hotel did not contact us to ask us if ask if we wanted to move. The building outdoor security lock on our building main door was broken so anybody could walk into the building without having room keys or any keys for that matter. In my opinion this made the building rather insecure. The rooms and especially the building entrances need a facelift. The heat worked as expected along with the fridge. The fridge was loud to the point it did wake us both up a couple of times. The cleanliness of the room was a little below average but a lot of that has to do with the age and quality of material in it. We would not stay here again nor recommend it to anyone else. The final aggravation was front desk attended said he could not issue any partial refund because I paid with third party service. I was looking for a partial refund for the last night for not having hot water.…
Treated me like a king. I even got to be guest of the day, upgraded to a suite, and got free breakfast! Top notch service all around. Everyone wanted to make sure I had a great time and it showed. A perfect getaway in the hills
My father had a lovely, quiet stay at OU Inn, all made possible by Dani! She helped set him up in a very comfortable and easily accessible room, and she treated him like family, It meant so much that he could stay here during the Thanksgiving holiday!
It took 35 years but finally was able to stay here. Being a late 80s graduate of Ohio University for years i drove by and saw this place and was fascinated by the Inn on the hill with the University name and the University look to it but never saw the inside. Finally, made a return trip to Athens and decided now i'll see the Inn !! Was great to see it finally, and loved the lobby area and was friendly atmosphere, unfortunately arrival was too late to eat here. Stayed in a very roomy room that was comfortable and nice and had a nice feel to it. Very clean upkeep and parking lot and entrance to rooms was very convenient. Wish we had had a room with a balcony though as i had hoped, maybe someday if ever return. Understand the hotel is going to get a remake on the rooms so be interesting to see what they do. Thank you.…
