The Royal Asarlik Beach hotel is appreciated for its renovated rooms, diverse dining options, and excellent beachfront location, which is a stone's throw from various water activities, shops, and bars. However, opinions on service and room cleanliness are divided, with some guests commending the friendly staff and well-maintained spaces, while others experience slow service and less than pristine conditions. Although the hotel offers live music and good facilities, some travelers question its value, suggesting that the expected luxury does not match the cost.

We have just returned home after spending 10 nights at the Royal Asarlik Beach Hotel.Having been on 4 previous occasions we knew what to expect, although under the circumstances we understood things might be a little different this year.
Things didn’t get off to a perfect start. We had booked a sea view room for 3 adults I even emailed the hotel a few days prior to arrival to check details.
We were taken to our room, and were shocked to see just 1 double bed! The room was so small if we added a camp bed we would literally have to climb over each other to get out of bed. This is not acceptable and really does need addressing. We were given a room on floor 1 but with no sea view for the night. The next morning İsmail on reception gave us a room on floor 2 with enough space for the 3 of us .
After this we went on to have a wonderful holiday. Every member of staff went out of their way to look after us and keep us safe. We had temperature checks and were provided with face masks before entering the restaurant.Yes the food choices weren’t as varied as usual, and none of the a la carte restaurants were open , but we didn’t go hungry. Always plenty of salad, cheese ,cold meats available plus soup, pizza, pasta, chips grilled meat and various other dishes,a large variety of deserts and fresh fruit all being served out by staff members.
We had lunch in the relax pool snack bar, where they were grilling beef burgers making pizzas etc. Then we moved on to the patisserie for ice cream and home made waffles.
Really must give a mention to Ibrahim,Ahmed ,and the other waiter( sorry didn’t catch your name)on the roof top restaurant and also Ogun from the pool side and lobby bar.You really did help to make our holiday special, thank you!
We met some lovely people (plus a few moaners please ignore their reviews they expected a 5 star hotel for the 3.5 star price, don’t think they understood we are in the middle of a pandemic) had wonderful weather and were well looked after by every member of your team.
Keep safe everyone and hope to see you soon.xxx

First of all I would like to say THANK YOU to all the kind, hardworking and dedicated employees who are always with smile and happy to help you in any time. The hotel is very good and the people who work here are only giving extra value to it! The food is really tasty, different every day and satisfies the needs of even the most picky ones. The sea water is very clean, the beach is beautiful and offers a natural shadow. Animation and entertaiment are offered every day (and night). The Covid-19 measurements are respected and the employees are wearing masks and glows all the time (inside and outside)! Thank you Royal Asarlik, see you again!!

After reading some bad reviews we were very sceptical about going to this hotel. When we arrived the hotel staff greeted us and we were checked into our rooms. The rooms were modern and had everything you needed from mini fridge with water and soda drinks, hairdryer and rooms were cleaned daily with fresh bath towels everyday. The only two cons about our holiday were no Wi-Fi in the bedroom, we asked the reception 5 times to fix it but it was never done so we left it. The Wi-Fi worked fine in the hotel and around the pools. Pool towels were given everyday and the bar staff at both pools were very polite. Relax pool I suggest you go to put your towels down early but the activity pool you don’t need to as there were always lots of sun beds available this pool got busy around 2pm. Activity pool is the one we used everyday as they had music playing. Drinks were on the weak side but there are plenty of choices. If you want to book a water sports trip or excursion see Boni he’s always walking around he was fantastic and booked us in for all our water sports. Ozzy works for the spa and again he walks around for bookings. Me and my daughter had the Turkish massage and it was fantastic and value for money. Night time entertainment is ok, a show is put on at 10am every night. We did attend the shows but then walked onto the main strips for a walk and a few drinks. The main strip is busy with shops, restaurants, bars and clubs and the vibe is amazing. The animation team were very helpful and spoke to us everyday. Alex was the best animation team member, he made our holiday entertaining and was always informative with his information. Alex’s water gym not only was good but very entertaining. Mustafa in the lobby bar was very kind and helpful too he always made an effort to talk to us. The all inclusive food was nice, a variety for all. We did eat out a few times and the best restaurant we found was Bamboo which is a few minutes walk from the hotel. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel but the service and staff made it 5 star for us and we would definitely return.

I’m going to give an honest and fair review on our stay at this hotel, firstly I’ll speak about the room we stayed in, it was very dated and the shower wasn’t great and the room is just desperately in need of being decorated as even the wallpaper is peeling off. We checked in and arrived late at the hotel approximately 1am and went straight up to our room only to be woken up by a cleaner at 7.40am after she knocked on 3 times repetitively. Anyway we woke up and went for breakfast and was actually shocked at how bad it was and the food was cold, we sat at a table and asked the waiter if we could have an orange juice to which he said no, we asked for apple juice and he said no there’s only water and cherry, no fizzy drinks were available either. After this we went down to the pool and the pool area was nice which we really enjoyed although in the mornings we did often come down to dirty tables from the evening before where people had been drinking plus they have little plant pots for smokers to put their cigarettes out in and the plant pots would sometimes have water in with food floating about and cigarette ends which wasn’t a pleasant site. The towel service was helpful but the times often varied for when the hotel staff would be there to hand them out. During the day around the pool they have a snack bar which had burgers and fresh pizza and chips being made for most of the afternoon and this is the only food we had there which was edible and fresh and warm. Also the waiters at the bar around the pool put a crate of water on the counter which then goes warm rather than go to the fridge to get a bottle each time someone asks for one. There’s also ice cream and waffles available during the afternoon which was nice. Moving on to dinner in the evening now, well what a shambles when it was opening time people were queuing up next to each other no social distancing at all whatsoever literally back to back and the food was just as bad as breakfast if not worse, the same meals were on offer most nights with a choice of two meats, one was a fish with its tail and head still on and the other was normalmy either like a beef or liver stew type which was sat cold and stagnant and the meat was hard to chew. Again there was an issue with drinks with the buffet restaurant running about of beer two nights on the trot plus they ran out of gin and wine one night, They also ran out of beer downstairs at the pool plus said they had no ingredients to make mojito cocktails. When we booked this holiday it said we would receive a meal from each of the a la carte restaurants which we looked forward to but none of them were open and haven’t been all season apparently but that’s an issue we’re taking up with jet2. We ended up eating out every evening because the limited food on offer was so bad, I’m not really someone that participates in pool games and activity during the day but if you are then be warned they don’t invite english people to play along and the entertainment staff spoke mostly in Turkish as well during these games when talking on the microphone so we didn’t have a clue what was being said anyway.

Dear Guest, As Hotel Management, we would like to state that we are upset to have this review regarding your recent stay. We think that your review is not completely fair. You stated that your door was knocked at 07.40 am but the room maids start working at 08:00 am and the cleaning service starts at 09:00 am. We have an answer on every issue you've written and have the information that we can say we definitely provide these services. However instant deficiencies may occur from time to time due to the crowd of guests. But we would like to point out that it is not possible for a maid to knock on your door for cleaning at 07:40. Authorized room maids start working at 08:00. No maid is allowed to enter the room before 09:00. Contrary to your comments, all services are provided to our dear guests by using the most hygenic, cleanest, and proper equipment. Also, our staff strive to provide good and equal service to our dear guests regardless of nationality. In this pandemic, Animation and Guest Relations Team that are in direct contact with the guests, continue to be in close contact with them as possible, observing the usual conditions and they make great effort to please our dear guests. I’ve read many reviews on this hotel, some positive and some not so positive. I do ask myself if I was in the same hotel for the positive comments and have come to the conclusion that if you are in the 18-30 age bracket you are the ones providing good feedback based on the fact that the hotel Is in a good position for nightlife and you can grab a quick bite to eat on the go, either that or you are content with the likes of Benidorm each year. On the other hand, if you are outside this age group you possibly like nice food, nice drink and to be waited on whilst you’re on holiday, well this is where it stops. You can argue that the food in the main restaurant is good and if you like salad then the salad bars are amazing, as for the accompanying meats or fish that you may expect from a 4-5 star restaurant well it’s disappointing, in addition expect to obtain your own cutlery and drinks as the waiters are completely oblivious to what’s going on around them.
Al a carte restaurants are very poor, similarly to the main restaurant staff are useless and can’t even get your order right, food is cold and forget about being brought a drink to your table, we chanced the Italian and the Chinese and on both occasions food was cold and poorly prepared.
Rooms are tired and could do with some general maintenance but they are cleaned on a daily basis, which is a positive.
Generally the hotel in my opinion is working on a business strategy of small margin high volume hence the get them in get them out approach which avoids any opportunity of providing a quality experience for its guests with a plan to try and get guests to return, whilst many of the waiters are pleasant they are not trained or coached properly which is clear on the numbers who lack skills and abilities. Would I return, not a chance!
If you want a bit of sun and not bothered about the experience then this may suit your needs but if you want a bit of quality pay that bit extra and go somewhere else.. Like I said in the title you only get what you pay for.

We visited as a large group of family and friends and we were all disappointed by the standard of the hotel. The location is great and the majority of the staff were friendly but what let the hotel down massively was the standard of cleanliness - the rooms are outdated and in need of repair/upgrading. We had 10 rooms between us and each room had some issue or other - from light bulbs that were missing to safe boxes that didn’t work (these are an additional charge) to finding two lots of dirty underwear from a previous guest! The underwear was in two separate areas in the room so the room obviously wasn’t cleaned and checked properly before we moved in. Although the towels were changed daily the level of cleaning left a lot to be desired and one day there was a chewed sweet left by the cleaner on the bedside cabinet! There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms and the minibar was never restocked during our 10 day stay! Breakfast choice was very disappointing but the snack bar and patisserie were both good. Again cleanliness was an issue in the restaurant and bar areas with dirty cups and glasses. The pool areas are both good - apart from the toilets which weren’t cleaned or checked during the day. The rooftop bar/restaurant was good with gorgeous views over Gumbet. The hotel has the potential to be a good hotel and will never be able to please all of the people all of the time but basic cleanliness is vital to any hospitality and this needs addressing

Royal Asarlik Beach Hotel & Spa

Hotel is listed as 5star, but it much more like 3 or possibly 3.5star due to the age & slightly dirty elements of the hotel.

We were fortunate to be allocated one of the rooms away from the main Hotel building, again the room was dated & my main complaint was that the mattress on the bed was like trying to sleep on a stone slab due to being rock hard & uncomfortable.

The main Panoramic Restaurant up on the 6th floor is amazing, the view is breathtaking and the food is of very high standard.
All the waiters and bar staff are very good, but speak limited English due to the fact that not many English people go there.

A La Carte Restaurants;
You have the choice of four Restaurants to choose from, but you don't know which Restaurants are open on the day until you go to book between 10am & 12midday in Guest Relations at reception which is poor communication between the hotel & it's guests (the hotel should advertise weekly which Restaurants are open on which day on a notice board at reception)

Fish Restaurant,
Service is good, food limited in choice = sea bream or sea bass, the sea bream is similar in taste to what you get in the normal restaurant on the 6th floor of the hotel, but the sea bass is amazing. The dessert is just some sweet nut paste spread on a plate.

Ottoman Restaurant,
No choice regarding what you want to eat, but the food they bring to your table (eventually, because they actually forgot about us), is amazing.
Dining experience is ruined by the miserable, short, waiter (you will know which one I mean when you see him) = no smile, no please or thank you & bashes every plate down hard onto your table.

Italian Restaurant,
As stated earlier, due to lack of communication as to which Restaurants are open on which day, we missed out on dining at this restaurant.

Chinese Restaurant,
By far the best dining experience of the three A La Carte Restaurants we dined at.
Service is very good. Food is amazing & you even have a choice as to which main course you want (seeing as there were 3 of us, we all choose different main courses & tried a bit of each others food). Dessert, I HIGHLY recommend the fried ice-cream, as it is amazing!

I have one gripe to say about the hotel associated water sports guy (walks around in basketball vests all day), as we booked our warersports with a separate hut along the hotel beach as they were cheaper than the guy associated with the hotel. The hotel guy confronted us after our watersports & made a point of angrily saying that we'd cost him his commission. Isn't it OUR choice where we choose to spend our money? Really didn't appreciate the guy having a go at us like that & made a point of booking any future watersport activities with the cheaper guys in the other hut.

All in all our 11night stay as a small family with x1 teenager was very good & I would happily return to the same hotel in future.

My sister and I stayed at this hotel in September 2021. We are very disappointed with the hotel. The hotel officially has 5 stars, but it does not deserve more than 3 stars. The hotel is very bad.
The rooms are uncleaned and old. When we arrived we got a room that looked at the air conditioners instead of the sea. The toilet bowl was damaged and the room smelled of damp. The furniture was also bad, and the room was half-cleaned. At the reception we asked for a room replacement and we got a room in the main building that was a shade better than the other one. We stayed in the room for another 2 days, but we asked our travel agency to change the hotel . In those 2 days, our room was not cleaned, only the towels were changed.
And ... when we left the hotel, part of the money we gave for the use of the safe was not returned to us. I consider this a great disrespect to the guests. Even the receptionist was very rude when I asked for an explanation.

Covid 19 rules in this hotel are not followed !!!

The staff is not friendly.
The staff who serve meals do not understand best what you want. The staff at the bar is unhelpful. The staff at the reception is poorly able to communicate.

The beach and hotel facilities are bad. There are untidy lawns, swimming pools .... In the morning you can find a bunch of dishes, glasses and food thrown on the lawn and beach.
The sunbeds are old and without mattresses. The beach towels are of poor quality.
The food in the hotel is average, poorly prepared and with a very small selection for a 5 star hotel, the patisserie is with the same sweets every day which sometimes were not even fresh.
There are discos in the area, so the noise is great during the night :(
I hope this will help future hotel guests, as I am very disappointed and unpleasantly surprised by both the hotel and the staff.
Like many other little things I didn’t list.
Think carefully before choosing this hotel and this part of Bodrum.

From the outside and lobby this hotel looked good , however if you are staying in part B of the hotel, the rooms are extremely run down and even a basic travel lodge is better.
We could only presume that the rooms were from maybe the original hotel and not been upgraded for 20 years! The floor is coming up, the fittings are all marked and dated and very basic. The fittings around the door to get to the balcony were all damaged.
The bathrooms were equally basic and dated. You could hear exactly what was happening in the bathroom next door! You had to be careful when flushing the toilet or the water would keep going continuously. The shower is over the bath but has glass sliding doors which open open partially. Being someone who has a damaged knee and walks with a stick it was interesting getting in and out the limited space to have a shower. Even my able bodied friend struggled.
The cleaners kept the rooms ok but not spotless.
The main restaurant ( being all inclusive) was more like a cafeteria in a college. No service whatsoever ( unless you were turkish). First night we were there every table was taken. No one attempted to help us. Eventually another guest pointed out an overflow restaurant upstairs.
You help yourselves to food cutlery & drinks.
Pools were both reasonable but usual selfish people reserving sunbeds with towels first thing!
We ate in the fish al a carte one evening which was very good, but as someone with a food allergy there are no menu’s so you are relying on yourself to spot anything you cannot eat.
The experience in the Italian another evening was not so good. When we asked about main course choice no menu- told it was salmon chicken or steak, but no info what they came with / any sauce etc.
In the end we ate outside the hotel several times.

You have to pay to use the safe in your room. €20 ( not refundable). Very old fashioned with a key.
When I asked for a receipt got a blank look. When we checked out no paperwork or even a did you have a nice stay comment

My wife and I came to this hotel 13 years ago and it was where I proposed. Back then it was absolutely fantastic. We visited this time with 2 other couples and were really looking forward to a similar experience to our previous visit, but unfortunately this wasn't the case.

I'll start by saying I don't think there's anything particularly bad about the hotel, but it's by no means 5 star and I don't believe it's been updated at all since our first visit all those years ago.

The rooms were a little dated and weren't in the best decorative order. They were however clean and the beds were relatively comfortable. There is a free mini bar however this was only restocked once in our 7 night stay. The aircon isn't great, to be effective it needs to be left on all the time as it takes a very long time to cool the room.

The food at the buffet restaurant was of a good standard but was very repetitive and there wasn't too much selection. The a la carte restaurants can only be booked between 10am and midday on the day you want to go to them, not great if you're out of the hotel before 10am doing activities etc. The food at the a la cartes was good.

Entertainment was limited and not well promoted.

The staff were pretty good, some didn't speak much English but that's fair enough.

The location of the hotel is great. Its right on the beach and is close to the selection of shops, bars and restaurants in Gumbet.

There is parking at the hotel which is great for if you hire your own vehicle.

Overall we had an average stay, nothing terrible but also nothing 5 star. We won't return again having had much better experiences at lower star hotels in Gumbet and Bitez.

I booked with on the beach too and had the twin promo garden room which was in the main building. View of the garden wall! Changed rooms 3 times. All have a balcony. Please do yourself a favour and do NOT book this hotel.
