We're currently staying at this resort and at times are a bit taken aback by the level of service. One would presume to get some value for money here, but one would be suprised. All the facilities and the property itself are remarkable as is the design of the rooms and public zones. The standard of service unfortunately doesn't meet the luxury criteria though. It comes in all shapes and the smallest details: you come to breakfast and have to find your own table, then you have to find a person and ask them to clean it and set it for you. Maybe twice. Then you have to find a person and ask them to bring you the menu, then you again have to find someone to take your order. Then you sit for 10+ minutes without a hint of your breakfast, not even the tea, though the restaurant is far from full. Then there's 70% probability they will forget to bring some part of your order and you have to remind them, maybe even twice. You come to the beach and again have to find the person who provides towels. Then they bring you towels and just leave a packed pyramid on your sunbed and you start to make your own sunbed. Those are small things but devil is in the detail, right? Today at lunch I was appalled when I tried to order a dish which comes with french fries on the side and asked to change fries for vegetables. The response was a blunt "no". No explanation (i can't imagine a reason why not, but still), no "unfortunately we can't, but here's what we can do", just a NO with a pockerface. I won't even go into why it's not something you expect at any restaurant or cafe, leave alone a 5* hotel. You can spend millions on building a chic designer hotel, but people can depreciate all those investments if you don't invest in people. That said I'm sure the hotel management should focus more on providing a better service and benefit from it, cause now it's the only thing Mandarin Oriental Bodrum really lacks. The food in the hotel restaurants is unreasonably overpriced and is definitely not value for money. Our 300€ hotel dinner was disappointing (btw, they forgot about one of the dishes, again), while a 15 minute drive to the nearest marina ended in a delightful 200€ dinner at Zuma. There's one other thing that got me thinking in the sauna at Mandarin spa. I'm Russian and we practice all kinds of crazy stuff in our banya, but I'm pretty sure that temperature in the steam room isn't supposed to be 100°C, it's just scolding hot and unbearable, it'sactually painful to breathe. As for the sauna - the design is great again, but the furnace is located under the bench and the hottest place is not under the ceiling as it always is in the sauna, but directly under the bench, so it seems like you're lying on a frying pan.  By the way, as a measure to prevent covid or to calm down those who are afraid, the management chose to pack whatever they can in plastic. That ridiculously includes paper tissues (come on!) and beach towels. I'm trying to ignore the inanity and the environmental impact, but the esthetic one is impossible to ignore: there's plastic on the beach. It's not a problem for me or my husband to pick it up, but it's not a permanent solution obviously. MOB, please take responsibility for your trash and take good care of your guests if you want them to come back.

I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Bodrum first back in July and now in September. There are many reasons why I like this hotel. The physical location of the facilities is spectacular and deserves its name "Paradise Cove". The natural landscape is impressive, as it is compact, very well designed and because it is Bodrum the sea is mild and salty enough. Same goes with the rooms and villas. They are large but also very functional. The staff is exceptional. From personal assistants (mine were Şevval and İrem) to buggy assistants to housekeeping to the restaurant staff (Şeyda, Sezer, Serhan, Umut and many more) they made sure that I enjoyed every second of my time in the hotel. Because of the nature of my trip (rehabilitation from the fast-paced city life), I would like to underline the SPA. The gym is full with state-of-the-art equipments. The trainers are very good at what they do and very well focused during the trainings. The pilates trainer Esin is well-trained, all-rounded and approachable. With her relentless energy she definitely made my day few times! Volkan is composed and quite knowledgeable about weight lifting. The SPA reception and specialists (Atiye and Suhana are my favorite) are one-of-a-kind! I do go to the same segment hotels around the world, but I haven't been as much happy and comfortable as I was at Mandarin Oriental Bodrum. I look forward to coming back!

I stayed here in 2014 when it was brand new and I was very impressed. Over the last 6 years the rooms deteriorated quite a bit while the price doubled up. Most guests seems to be people from Russia and the Middle East and the hotel doesn't seem to value guests from other countries as much (including the locals). I am not sure why I paid 1000 euro per night for a ran down room even our supposex buttler (Zeynep) didn't care to meet in person but a whatsapp message of "here is the price list of the spa".. There are better alternatives near by and all around Turkey much better value for your money.

We stayed here for three nights during COVID (September 2020). We would never have thought to visit Bodrum were it not for Turkey allowing Americans to visit during the pandemic without restriction. It was the trip of a lifetime and worth every penny. The Mandarin is 40 minutes drive from Bodrum airport; we were personally attended to from the moment we landed until we departed the hotel. Aybüke was the perfect Butler - extremely welcoming, respectful, engaging, and genuinely cared about our experience. We will request to have her host us again upon our return. The entire service experience, including the concierge, pool, and beach staff, was superb. We felt completely safe and applaud their efforts to manage the challenges associated with the pandemic. Property itself is gorgeous from every angle. Views are spectacular. Gym feels brand new with extensive space and equipment. Spa is outstanding - ‘Mediterranean Journey’ might be the most memorable and best value luxury treatment in Europe. While we missed Assagio (closed during COVID), the two restaurants we tried on the property were both very good. The traditional Turkish breakfast at Sofra is the best hotel breakfast we’ve had in the world. After our stay, we took the ferry from Bodrum to Datça and spent two nights at D Maris Bay, which has at least one life-changing beach but is otherwise inferior in every way. It made us appreciate how special and truly world-class this Mandarin is. We would not hesitate spend an entire day flying to come back to this wonderful place - even just for a long weekend.

We was staying at Mandarin Oriental Bodrum to the Villa for 8 people. The price was apr 47.000€ for a week. The assistance (Irem)was very good. She was trying permanently to do all to enrich the quality of service. The disign and the view is amazing. Unfortunately the service is very poor. Dirty! The staff is not like I met in another hi level hotels. They don’t clean the house how is normal. We permanently ask them to come and clean up our villa. We informed the managers about the problems. They promised to change attitude towards as. After a lot of bad experience, the cleaning staff stole the many from the bag. Unbelievable !!! I’m deeply disappointed !
