Almost 20 months after our last visit in early June we've spent another week at Velena. Again, everything was as lovely as we've remembered. Actually, the newly renovated bathrooms were a nice surprise. OK the weather was not so nice (the coldest early June anyone can remember) but we can't blame Ahmet Bey for that. For us it is the...

We came to Velena Hotel because of our friend's wedding at the nearby Macaikizi Resort, and it was one of a few recommended "lower cost" hotels. The coastline of the Aegean in this area is gorgeous, and dotted with lots of little pension hotels. Many of our friends stayed in the Karienda, which is right next door, paying three times...

I can't comment about the peak season but in September, once maddening crowds are gone, it is a very pleasant experience. Yes it is modest, but it does not claim to be Mandarin Oriental. The rooms are comfortable...

We have been traveling all over the world. We always had good experiences. We were dissapointed, with the service , room and hidden menu prices. They didn't change our towels, we ask them to change our towels they told us they change the towels every 2 days. In the morning dont expect to have a hot shower, because their water...

The location is ideal, just beside the sea. Simple and clean bedrooms and bathrooms, set in a beautiful and well-kept garden, with shaded dining area and comfortable bar with a fine view of the coast. We were a party of 11, ages ranging from 2 to 80. The staff were exceedingly kind and friendly, loved the baby, translated the menu...

Stayed there for a weekend break with a group of friends. We had to squeeze into a tiny room, grubby and old. Hotel's website said rooms have been renovated but ours definitely wasn't. Have been unnecessarily charged for everything they brought to the breakfast table as if those were part of their standard breakfast, only when leaving we learned those...
