Just finished a week at ambrosia rooms are ok basic but clean, food was fine nothing spectacular but enough variety. We came last year for 10 nights and we had lovely holiday apart from one aspect which was exactly the same this year …..reception staff are dreadful which is a shame because the rest of the staff are fantastic. Location is lovely if you just want to chill on beach and stroll around having a drink. Bitez is quite a small place and quiet, if you want something livelier go to Gumbet or Bodrum.

we loved this hotel!, superb location, great pool area, great sunbeds, right on the beach, waiter service on the beach, food excellent from the A la carte menu, HB buffet really good, always fresh and lots to choose from. The staff really friendly. We had an amazing 5 days here. The DOGS that are mentioned do not pay any attention to kids/adults alike. They are not a problem at all. Go here you will not be disappointed. We treated ourselves to a suite and it was perfect. Thank you and we will definitely be back. 10/10

Arrived late booking in. They offered us warm disgusting sandwiches.Took us to our room or should i say smokey bedsit. We opened the balcony door to be met with safety bars infront of us and a 300cm balcony. We trotted back down to the reception and complained , they aid they would move us in the morning. In the morning after a terrible nights sleep with half a sheet and bed cover tiny shower room and no bath.To be told there was no rooms. by this time there was more people complaining at reception due to the poor rooms. We said move us or we will move hotel. We complained to Tui rep but he didnt get back to us.We did get a better room after two days ..with a walk in balcony.and a view of another four balcony`s 10 mtrs away. The food was poor entertainment repetitive drink prices same as home no tea/coffee in room .All week was people complaining.Irish bar was closed meals where shared with the resident dogs.(3)most staff where lovely. If you wanted a good meal you had to buy it. The only irish theme to this hotel was it looked like the Maze prison.WONT GO BACK.

I was on a holiday with my girlfriend, we are a young professional couple in our mid twenties. We had picked this hotel for our trip to Bodrum for the end of August. Jet 2 were brilliant with their package holiday offered to us and a great price. The hotel is a different matter unfortunately. The hotel at first sight looked brilliant however as soon as we stepped inside to check in, we had to wait for thirty minutes and to not even be greeted with a smile, hello or any sort of welcome. I had to do all the talking and asking of general questions which we kind of expect to be told. Such as where breakfast is, what times, where your room is, what kind of room we have, confirming that we even have a room. Unfortunately this carried on through our holiday with the front desk staff. The room was okay, we were situated with a beach view, this was lovely. Our air con didn’t work for the first 12 hours which was a nightmare, having travelled all day and wanting to cool down, however with persistence the front desk staff got the technical team, and fixed the issue...the first issue. We had a big leak from the air con which again was sorted with the technical team. The staff at the hotel from the front desk onwards were fantastic and very friendly. All were very helpful and advised on best places to go and eat, walk to see things and welcoming us everyday. The hotel grounds are great and would be of four star quality. We do recommend grabbing the dolmas to bodrum, which can be got on straight outside the hotel to bodrum, cheaper than buying an excursion. Quite a lot cheaper. The hotel food is of good quality, good and enough choice at breakfast, dinner had a limited choice but was okay. We only ate there one night but walked through see what was on before we ate out in bitez at night along the seafront. Bitez is a lovely place to stay in with lots to do, see, eat in, drink in, walk around with easy access to the Bodrum area to do lots of other things. Pricing is very good for meals and drinks. We had a chateaubriand with a bottle of wine for less than £40 one evening. Beer is very tasty and easy to drink especially in the heat, and better tasting a good price of about £2.50 per 0.5L. I wouldn’t recommend staying at Ambrosia hotel if you are planning on being in the rooms a lot, and if you’re looking for a four star hotel. If you are wanting a nice friendly three star hotel and not spending time in the room, I do recommend this hotel.

Glad to know that fellow holiday makers had better times at Ambrosia. However, this is not what we’ve experienced at all. Pros: great location with bus stop just outside and easy walking distance around the resort. Beautiful beach front with free sunbeds. Hard working restaurant staff (especially those in blue uniforms). Pool was nice and of decent size. Cons: we arrived almost midnight. Reception staff couldn’t be bothered (she was watching films on her mobile when we walked in). She quickly gave us the key card and sent us away with the porter. Didn’t explain facilities, WiFi etc. She even forgot to give us the armbands and towel card. When we reached our room, how disappointing! It was next to the back stairs where cleaning staff used to move rubbish. It looks like a staff rest room more than for guests. It was above where kitchen staff take their breaks. The balcony overlooked a dumping ground where a rusted yacht and delivery vans parked. (Uploaded photo of our view) We immediately went back to the reception and the girl there didn’t speak much English (that’s when she remembered to give us armbands). Another family of 3 (with a one year old baby) complained at the same time. They were given a room without balcony and the air con didn’t work. They asked for a fan but the reception girl didn’t understand. Poor couples nearly cried as it was too hot for the baby to go to sleep. Since the air con worked ok in ours and it was very late at night, we gave up. We later on witnesses another two similar complaints about rooms (not as advertised). The room itself needed update. There’s a leak under the sink (the sink moves about when it is being used). There’re burnt marks on the desk. The TV doesn’t work properly (not even the local channels). The shower was temperamental. One day there was brownish water coming out. We kept it running for 5 minutes and then it’s gone. God knows what that was! Food was nothing to boast about. We are not fussy eater but we expect a bit more variety for a 4 star hotel. Evening meals were usually boiled meat with rice. Only had fish once during the week. There’s no theme night like other hotels. There’s not even cheap ice cream for dessert. Entertainment was repetitive. Their resident performer was ok but after two nights in a roll, you’ll notice it’s the same song again. We went to the Temple Bar next door afterwards. Although their drinks were more pricey, their ambiance and entertainment was more interesting. Sunbeds by the pool were mostly broken with nails sticking out. Be very careful if you have children. Our return flight was in the evening, so we asked if we could take a shower somewhere. We were kindly offered the use of the shower in the Spa. OMG, the facilities were disgusting. No towels were provided. Mud and sand everywhere. The doors didn’t shut and the shower leaked. It’s nothing relaxing at all. I was glad we didn’t pay to use the Spa. There’s a Mr Whatever (it’s really on his staff badge) looking after guests in the restaurant/bar. It probably sums up the attitude they have towards their guests. At least that’s how we felt!
