The rooms however, are at the back of the hotel. Small 2 storey blocks all with balconies dotted around lovely gardens, so other than some noisy guests walking back from a night out, it was silent.
Our room was typical, large double bed, large double wardrobe, fridge and safe. Nice bathroom with shower. There was also hanging wires to dry your clothes on the balcony.
There was a quiet pool around the back, along with tennis court and kids club and the main pool at the front with slide.
The bar opened at 10 serving a small selection of alcoholic drinks, and soft drinks.
The second part of the hotel was more lively, and would suit the 18-30 age with plenty of games from the entertainment team and another swimming pool, with bar.
There was one main restaurant serving the two hotel sections. Breads, salads and a cooked meat of the day. Whilst the food tasted ok, and the service was managed with social distancing in mind, the choice did become a little samey after a few days and we decided to eat out, at one of the many restaurants along the beach front or street.
The hotel sat directly on the beach, which was fantastic. Plenty of hotel free loungers, can still use the all inclusive facilities and the drinks to the beach in plastic cups. The sand is gravely and rough on your feet, but it also meant no sand stuck to you. The sea is flat calm, and the depth doesn't change too much. You can be out 50m and still be waste high.
The hotel also manage and clean their part of the beach, emptying waste bins hourly and kept the sand free of litter.
The wifi was super strong with over 200mbps in most areas. This also stretches to the beach, but only just in front. All the restaurants and bars have free wifi, so its easy to ask for their password and you are set, just about the full length of the beach.
Check out is 12 noon, but they have plenty of luggage storage and his/ hers shower rooms to use for guests with late flight times. We left at 9 pm and had full use of everything.
Great staff, especially the ladybird bar and the pizza chef.
We just returned after a 9 day stay and would definitely return again soon. Peaceful break with great weather.
Due to covid-19 the precautions taken by the staff were exceptional. The hotel, the restaurant, the bar, the pools were organised in a safe and reassuring way. At the restaurant, you cannot get the food yourself there is a social distancing measurement where the staff plate the food you want. Which this was reassuring as not everyone was close to the food.
The staff are lovely at Parkim ayaz hotel, we felt as though we were treated very fairly. We couldn’t fault the restaurant staff and chefs at all.
The hotel is close to many places around Bodrum. To the centre it would take us about 10/15 minutes by Taxi, which would cos around 20-25 lira. There is a taxi stand just in front of the hotel which was very useful.
The only small inconvenience was that our hotel room was facing the main pool where all the entertainment would take place through out the day, so the music was very loud and we could hear it till around 6pm when it stopped. It didn’t cause a big problem but when we do visit again we will make sure to choose a room which is not directly facing the main pool or around it.
We loved Parkim Ayaz hotel and would definitely recommend It to anyone wanting to visit.
The location is ideal, a step out of the hotel and you have lively bars, shops and restaurants, and a step outside the back of the hotel and you’re onto a lovely beach with plenty to do. The clothes shop keepers can be persistent and get irritating at times but if you just say no they do usually accept that and move on to their next victim!
Every single member of staff within our whole 2 weeks were helpful, smiley and attentive. We had our 3 year old with us and they couldn’t do enough for us and her. Our last day she had an accident on the side of the pool and the staff were faultless in how quickly they got us help and to the clinic up the road, and continued to support us and her for the rest of our stay. There are always staff cleaning, gardening and maintaining the grounds at every part of the day and the place was spotless. The photographers are fab and we had an album done of beautiful photos to treasure. Also very good with children!
The entertainment team were all absolutely brilliant and Polina at the kids club was just amazing! We loved her. She was so passionate about the children and doing fun things with them, and our daughter idolised her from her first hour at kids club and her first mini disco at night.
How anyone can find fault with the food is beyond me, we were there for 2 weeks and didn’t struggle once with repetitiveness or finding something tasty each meal. The only thing I would suggest is that ice cream be available at all meal times rather than a set period in an afternoon, as the desserts aren’t particularly kid friendly and we had to go to the restaurant next door for an ice cream for our daughters dessert each tea time. The alcoholic drinks are not the strongest and cocktails just taste of syrup, but beer and spirits and mixers were good!
We loved the cocktails next door at “Cool Breeze” bar and across the road at the very fun “Aloha Bar”- they will have you up dancing!
The rooms are perfect for what you need, some said they could hear music until 1am from the street but we were tucked away and didn’t hear a thing in our room. They were cleaned every day with fresh towels.
The wifi was the best I’ve known in a hotel. It is a huge spread out hotel and I got wifi in every part of it, including all 3 pools and bars, the room and on the beach.
If you’re thinking of booking here, get it done as you won’t find much better.
Thankyou Parkim Ayaz!
Location
It’s so close to the beach we loved this very handy to cool off in the beautiful sea especially as it was 38oC some days.
There is also a great selection of shops and restaurants when walking out of the main reception area.
Food was the same as normal for all inclusive a good variety and of good standard, if you do get bored easily with food choices then there is plenty of restaurants to choose from for as little £12- £15 a head outside of the hotel.
There is also an Italian and Fish a la carte restaurant included in your stay but drinks are not included.
We tried the Italian and to be honest not really that impressed with it.
Pool Area
2 good size and clean pool areas ,the pool with the slide tends to mainly in the shade which I presume is because mainly families with small children are around this pool.
The other pool ( The cosy bar) well all I can say is don’t expect to have a quiet lazy day around the pool.
From 10 am you get the wake up alarm coming through the speakers then hold onto your sun-beds the music goes on until 6pm , I like a bit of background music whilst laying around the pool but at times the music reached 107db and yes i admit it i have a decibel monitor on my phone but this is due to my job and I’m a bit of a health and safety geek lol .
The music was that loud you couldn’t hear what the person next to you was saying or even your own music on your headphones.at times you had to come away from the area as your ears were ringing.
I did witness people asking the animation team to turn it down which they did but after one song it went back up .
I luckily took earplugs with me due to being a light sleeper and had to use them around the pool area.
The animation team really did earn their wages and really worked hard and got people involved in the all day activities, just a shame about the loud music.
Room .
We originally got put in a room that looked like it hadn’t been decorated since 1970 , mould on wall ,1 light working out of 4 ,minimal plug sockets and the front door easily pushed open when locked.
We asked to be moved which we was but had to wait until the next day.
Mixed feelings, some good and some bad.
Would we return = No
Location: The hotel is on the ‘main strip/street’ of gumbet with several restaurants, shops, chemists and bars literally on your doorstep. It also has its own private beach. Gumbet was quite touristy with stereotypical kareoke bars, English restaurants, pushy shop keepers so this was a disappointment. Bodrum marina is a £2.50 taxi ride away and we’ll worth a visit.
Wifi: found this to be shocking, dropped out several times throughout the day and multiple times a day had to re-enter passport details to log back in. Found this was a common issue for guests and happened all over the complex not just one area.
Food: one main buffet hall and two Al La carte restaurants, one fish and one Italian. Food in the main buffet restaurant was ok. They had the usual salads, breads, meats etc. As a vegetarian I found they had very limited options and found had to eat salads and pastas as they didn’t offer actual veggie dishes. Again with the desserts for myself most contained gelatine other than having fruit or a yoghurt. The Al La carte restaurants you pay for your drinks only. We dined in the Italian and found the food to be very average.
Rooms: we paid to upgrade (£140) to have a room by the bubble pool, with a bath, kettle and quiet area. We can’t compare to other rooms that are less money but for what we paid we was happy. It was cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels.
Service: staff were all extremely helpful, friendly, hard working and always on hand. Only downside found English speaking was very limited but enough to get basic things.
Building/grounds: large complex with beautiful gardens, flowers and trees. There were several kittens and tortoises on the grounds all of which were tame.
Pools: 3 pools all of which a decent size. Negative and downside is the usual antics of people putting towels down at 7am and not coming to use the sun beds til late morning meaning likes of us who were up and ready to sit by the pool couldn’t as they were already ‘reserved’ this didn’t seem to be managed or challenged by the hotel which was frustrating.
Overall The hotel was nice and was fine for the money we paid. Personally we wouldn’t come back here as found Gumbet to be rather chavvy with the usual loud kareoke bars, British restaurants and hassling shop keepers but if you’re happy to stay in an overall good hotel and be content with basic food I’d recommend here.
