We stayed at the El Vino in Bodrum for 10 days in October this year & I have to say, we had the most wonderful time there.

What a fantastic little gem of a boutique hotel- hidden behind a doorway that opens into an almost fairy-like “grotto” pool & bar area!!

Deniz the Manager runs a tight ship & clearly chooses his staff very carefully.
He seems to be about, checking on the smooth running of everything & took time to chat to guests despite being very busy I’m sure!
From the excellent waiting staff to the cleaners, to the chefs - everyone was very well trained- discreet but always very observant, friendly & super helpful & kind.
Not sure Ive had as capable & “genuine” staff anywhere in the world?

Nothing was too much trouble - even on our arrival ( late at night) there was a warm welcome & someone to help with our luggage & settle us into our room.

It was very tastefully & unusually decorated & very quaint & the grounds were absolutely beautiful-really lush & well maintained.
Full of bright blooms of bougainvillea & everywhere on the premises was kept extremely clean.

We had complimentary Turkish tea & cakes served to us in the afternoons by the pool & also free, freshly-laundered beach towels to use on the sun beds daily.

There is even a bookable roof- top restaurant with great views over Bodrum, prettily illuminated by night -and open til quite late.
The food was delicious & the ambience lovely.

The hotel is a little oasis in which to really relax- so pretty & calming…
Im recommending the “El Vino” to all my friends & really hope we can return again sometime.

Charming & outstanding - both hotel & staff.
Absolutely loved it!
Thank you so, so much to Deniz & his amazing staff.

Designed by an architect couple, with views of the Bodrum castle and the Aegean Sea, this hotel is among the best I have stayed in (in Turkey or anywhere in my 20+ years of traveling for work and pleasure). The rooms are very spacious and their layout is highly functional. Lemon trees and other well cared-for vegetation adorn the property and the lead staff members (“Dennis” and Sayid) speak perfect English AND are extraordinarily welcoming. Aesthetically and emotionally, the entire property is soothing with a beautiful pool area and many spots to read or contemplate the awesome history of the area. The rooms are quiet, clean, perfectly temperature controlled, and comfortably appointed. The walk to the marina is an easy downhill and safe stroll. The restaurant is outstanding both in service and food. You will be hard pressed to find its equal at any other hotel in this town. There are many steps throughout the property, but they are safe and well lighted. If your travels bring you to Bodrum and there is availability at El Vino, do not hesitate to stay here.

We chose this hotel because of all the positive reviews on almost every booking site on the internet and El Vino did not disappoint! The hotel is gorgeous with so many trees, plants, and flowers all over the property making it feel like a forest oasis despite being in Bodrum city. It's walking distance to the center of where all restaurants, shops, and beaches are but if you don't want to walk, the hotel will order a taxi for you. Taxis are quite cheap.

This is not a beach front property but they partnered with a beach of another property where you will have to pay a fee to enter. That being said, the public beaches in Bodrum and neighboring towns are beautiful and easy to find food and beach stuff for very minimal fees.

The rooms are spacious with a kitchenette and our room had a small terrace with a table and chair looking out to their gardens. Bathrooms are quite small but everything else in the hotel overcompensates for this.

There are 2 pools, one on the roof that is quite small and shallow but with amazing views. The main pool is not very big but for the size of the hotel, it never felt crowded despite the hotel being full. Trees and bushes surrounded the pool area providing plenty of shade during the hot summer and a beautiful backdrop to relaxing by the pool.

The hotel offers breakfast until 11am so you'll never feel rushed. They offer delicious breakfast with locally sourced natural ingredients and homemade items. The quality is superior to most large resort restaurants. We loved their acuka (Turkish tomato/pepper breakfast paste) so much we asked for it to be jarred so we can buy a few. They had it ready for us at checkout!

El Vino has a restaurant on the roof that is quite popular locally and you must try it! We had dinner there on our last night and the food was exquisite! The view was also amazing, overlooking the sea and Bodrum castle.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Even with their limited English, they made every effort to make us feel welcome and helped as much as they could.

Few things to note: this property does not have elevators so if you have mobility issues, ask for a room on the ground floor. It's not toddler safe as the grounds are bumpy stones and lots of stairs so you'll need to watch over younger kids carefully. They have resident cats and a dog who are all very clean and well taken care of - my kids loved being around them! But it's good to know if you have allergies. Finally, get bug repellent! Due to lots of vegetation on the property, we got a few insect bites.

We look forward to returning to Bodrum and staying in El Vino again - we wouldn't consider any other place!

Excellent experience in this hotel, beautiful room/suite (307) with small balcony overlooking the sea. Friendly staff, good dinners with a decent quality/price ratio, good breakfasts. Nice pool and quiet place with the busy center of Bodrum within walking distance with a comfortable 5 minute walk. The only flaw was the lights in the room which could not be turned off/on with a single button: the two "centralized" lamps were faulty and in any case after a few days one of the two was repaired. Both upon arrival and a couple of other times I was made to find some much appreciated decorations on the bed made with colored towels and petals.
Good advice on the various beaches to visit and on car rental which can be easily parked in the hotel car parks. I don't recommend shuttle service to the beach: in the end it costs 1500 TL for the beach + €10 per person for the shuttle per day and the opening hours are very limited. From 11am to 4pm. I have never used it, but the cost for 2 people seemed excessive to me and was correctly advised against by the hotel itself. Many cats, I understand that they may even bother some, but for us who are cat lovers and very animal lovers, it was more than pleasant to have them around and we also became fond of a puppy that we would also have brought home... experience + how positive, I absolutely recommend!!!

Our stay at the El Vino was a good as we had hoped. The photos on review sites do not do it justice. Beautiful flowers cover the hotel and the pool areas. The hotel and our room was immaculately clean. We were lucky and thankful to be given an upgrade to a suite with a French balcony and the room was amazing with incredible interior brickwork and large imposing wooden doors separating the bedroom and living room areas.

The staff were all so incredibly helpful from the very helpful Cemile through to the management, waiting staff, housekeeping and chefs. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel thoroughly welcome. In addition to the wonderful staff was the welcome you receive from the hotel pets. From Kiki the well fed hotel dog to the many cute kittens that sneak up on you and ‘share’ your sun bed. They make the stay feel a lot like home.

The breakfast was varied and of excellent quality. Some of the breakfast offerings seemed a little strange for people with an English palate but that’s no fault of the hotel and we always found something tasty to eat.

The hotel promises peace and quiet away from the hustle of Bodrum itself and this is largely true. There were some days where we were the only two people by the pool for large parts of the day with only the sound of crickets to keep us company. However there were a couple of days where there were young children / kids in the pool area which made it a bit less peaceful for a morning / day here and there but the majority of the time the peacefulness around the pool was as we had hoped.

The only negative points we could make was we would prefer this to be an adults only hotel which would really make it the beautiful peaceful haven it is in the majority. Another small gripe is the reserving of sun beds. Reserving a sun bed for a small amount of time and then using it throughout the day is no concern but we saw a family ‘reserve’ 5 sun beds for the majority of the day and not use them at all or people ‘reserving’ sun beds in both the sun and shaded areas and using them as and when they wanted. Not a big issue but when sun beds in the sunny areas are limited it can be frustrating.

The other negative is no fault of the hotel. We found the cost of eating and drinking out in Bodrum to be extortionate in an increasing number of places. We have been to Turkey before and the costs have nearly quadrupled in a few years. Quite a few places were more more expensive than London to eat and drink in and this hopefully can’t be sustainable as the resort, if it hasn’t already, is going to price itself out of the range of the normal couple / family. Saying that, if you look around and eat where the locals do there are some great places to eat for fairly reasonable prices.

To summarise, El Vino is a fantastic hotel just outside of the bustling madness of Bodrum and predominantly it certainly delivers what it promises. We will one day undoubtedly return and we very much look forward to doing so.

Thanks for a fantastic holiday.

Steve & Jo

We stayed at this hotel in September for a week for our honeymoon. The hotel is clean, and the hotel staff working in the restaurant, around the pool, and the cleaners are very friendly and helpful. The hotel, pool area, and restaurant are lovely. The location of the hotel is a little outside of the central area, and it’s a bit of walk down into town and back up.

In terms of our stay, our only bugbear, is that we paid for a room that we weren’t allocated. The room we paid for on Booking, com clearly stated that we would have a garden view and because it was our honeymoon we decided to pay a little extra to get this perk. However, our room did not have a garden view it looked out across the boundary wall (approx meter away) and onto the road outside, the local shop and staff quarters. We arrived at night in the dark and didn’t see this until the following day, at this point given that we were on our honeymoon and busy, and with the hotel appearing full we decided to simply raise the issue at the end of our stay and get the difference in the room prices refunded - it seemed the easiest all round. However, when we addressed this at the end of the stay we were told we should have raised it earlier and that hotel management might have been able to do something.

Following an email to the hotel when we got home we were subsequently offered a discount on a future stay, but given the current climate we wont be travelling abroad for a long time, and we only travelled to Turkey because it was our honeymoon, so this wasn’t much help which I did explain. This has left us very disappointed by hotel management who seem to be keener to debate process than value their customers. Ultimately we paid for a room we didn’t get.

So, to summarise a good hotel but check very carefully you are allocated the room you have paid for before you go if this is important to you, and perhaps ask the hotel to send you a picture of the view. And, be careful not to do anything outside of what the management feel is correct protocol as there is no flexibility in their management. Up until the end of our stay I was very willing to return to the UK and recommend the hotel to friends and colleagues, but I would find it very difficult to do this now because of hotel management which is a shame.

Dear Keira and John We would like to start by expressing our heartfelt gratitude for choosing our hotel for your honeymoon. We truly appreciate your kind words about the cleanliness of our premises and the friendliness of our staff. Your compliments about our hotel, pool area, and restaurant are very encouraging, and we're delighted to hear you enjoyed these aspects of your stay. We deeply regret the inconvenience you experienced regarding the room allocation during your stay. We understand the significance of a garden view and we sincerely apologize for not meeting your expectations in this regard. Regarding the timing of raising this issue, we apologize if our response seemed inflexible. We strive to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of all our guests. But we also would like to point out that during your 7-day stay at our hotel, the fact that you did not mention your discomfort to our staff, who were in contact with you, and that you constantly expressed satisfaction with your experience, and only to make such a request later was a bit disappointing to us. In response to your email, we were also saddened that you were not satisfied with the solution we offered, even though we were not obligated but did so out of goodwill. We must also emphasize that we do not find it appropriate for you to attempt to resolve the situation by threatening to write a negative review about us on social media. This shows us that there wasn't much goodwill on your part. As El Vino Hotel, we believe that we provided a sufficient solution to your request, which again you communicated to us via email after checking out from the hotel, even though it did not satisfy you. Warm regards,

Hands off this hotel!
Due to the corona pandemic, entry to Turkey was not possible, so I had to cancel my paid weekly stay booked directly at the hotel.
Since I really wanted to Trips there at a later date and to accommodate the hotel, which was suddenly overwhelmed by cancellations, I had agreed with the management not to reclaim my payment but to leave it with the hotel to count towards a late stay.
The offer was accepted with delight and the amount of EUR 800,- was retained.
Now that I wanted to make a new Reservation of 3 nights instead of 7 nights, no one wants to know about our arrangement anymore.
Instead I was offered a ridiculous discount or ONE FREE NI (for 800,-) and now ignores my emails.
As a customer, I have never been treated and cheated so ignorantly and therefore strongly advise against staying there.

My best friend and I have just returned from two glorious weeks at the amazing El Vino hotel in Bodrum. This was our second visit, although our last one was 10 years ago, but it’s just as good, if not better, than ever. Deniz is the Manager, who has been with the hotel for 20 years. His knowledge of Bodrum is unparalleled and he will go out of his way to make sure you have the best experience. Nothing is too much trouble. Deniz arranged a sailing trip for us on a private boat which is used by the hotel – it was amazing. We visited Rabbit Bay and Aquarium Bay, amongst others, and swam in crystal clear water. Our skipper provided the most delicious lunch – fresh fish cooked in the tiny galley with salads and drinks. It was an absolute feast.
Working alongside him is Sue, the Guest Relations Manager. She will go out of her way to give info on the best things to do and places to see, and if she doesn’t know something she’ll find out pretty speedily.
The hotel itself is set in a beautiful, bougainvillea covered garden with two pools. The terrace pool has a great view of Bodrum harbour, and you check out the cruise ship activity from there. We spent a lot of time at both pools and had quite a few nighttime dips in the main pool.
Breakfast is a treat – lots of Turkish and more traditional options with yummy fruit and fresh yoghurt. You will definitely not go hungry. A very nice touch is the 5pm tea/coffee offering around the pool. Every day there’s a selection of different cakes/cookies – such a nice way to end the day.
Rooms are spacious and meticulously cleaned by the lovely, friendly El Vino team. The entire team is a very happy bunch, and you can see that they are part of a very close El Vino family.
The owners take care of a lot of cute, friendly cats, which are fed and looked after every day. Kiki the dog is not phased by the cats at all and loves a tummy rub!
All I can say is, don’t stay anywhere else – this is the perfect place. Away from all of the Bodrum activity, it’s a peaceful haven which you won’t want to leave when the time comes.

Hello,
We arrived for two nights and stayed four nights.
Deniz, the manager, speaks fluent French.
Deniz is married to a French woman and has dual nationality.
Surrounded by his entire team, he welcomes you with a deep sense of customer respect imbued with genuine human values.
Always very attentive, the team symbolizes a large family and the setting of this hotel represents a real haven of peace.
