Our stay at this 5-star hotel was very good. I was hoping that breakfast selections were heated accordingly. It’s really the Breakfast buffet that affected my decision. It could have been an excellent stay for us. The room was massive and the bathroom was amazing, particularly the rainfall shower. Also, as a fitness enthusiast, the gym equipments are almost complete and I enjoyed my workout. We were also disappointed when you ran out of towels when we planned to go for a swim. Nonetheless, all the staff were very excellent at their job including the housekeeping team! Kudos to all of your staff!

Loved The Manila Hotel and our short stay over the Easter weekend. Affordable luxury with old world vibes is how we would describe our experience. Here’s why: 1. Service. Everyone is super friendly, poised and polite. First impressions count and starts with someone opening the doors with warm greetings. Good looks and smart uniforms definitely elevated moods. 2. Location. We were warned about traffic jams but did not think it was a major concern like Bangkok. The airport pickup is under 30mins and under 350-400 pesos (Easter weekend). Ask for higher floor rooms, at least 12 or above, facing Intramuros for panoramic views of the Intramuros, Baluarte San Diego and Rizal Park, all within walking distance of under 10-12 mins. 3. Breakfast. Dress code is enforced. No singlets but flip flops allowed. Definitely one of the best breakfast spread. They are meat lovers and we loved how the meats were prepared, especially pork. Fruits are fresh and sweet too, especially papaya, bananas and pineapples. Be prepared for long queues at peak hours. If you show up at peak hours, the overflow will cause them to lead you to Red Jade Chinese restaurant, where variety is severely limited with incessant Chinese ding-dong songs in the morning. Do try the yam-flavoured beancurd, Chinese pork ribs and double expressos. 4. Room. Tad old, everything works. The housekeeping had a few hiccups as face towels, shower gel and lotion might not give daily. Minor inconveniences which did not scar. You might want to ask for more chocolates during the turn-down service. Absolutely yummy and nicely packaged. 5. Ambience. The lobby was a tad noisy during Easter. If quieter, do stay for a drink and enjoy the grand piano. There was a band playing tunes of evergreens on Easter Sunday which was a nice touch. Across the aisle, a couple celebrated 50th wedding anniv so you can imagine the special place this hotel has for Manila.

Superb gracious old world splendour. The Doyenne of 1st class Manila Hotels . Perhaps a little care worn in places if being fussy . But none the worse for it . She is a very glamorous old lady indeed . Will always be my first port of call when visiting this city

We stayed at The Manila Hotel as we finished our Asia Cruise before flying home to the USA. Everything in the hotel is grand and beautiful: the lobby, the room furniture, the pool, the outside seating area, the staff who are elegantly dressed in the native dresses, and the sumptuous buffet breakfast and dinner. The spa offers massage in high end quarters. Although only a walking distance from the cruise ship port, it is best to hire a cab and not walk to the hotel.

The Manila Hotel continues to hold the fort for visitors and Filipinos who want to walk through over a century of major events in the history of the country. The facilities and amenities are at par with modern international hotel chains sprouting in the Metro Manila. The Manila Hotel however offers a sense of historical grandeur the moment you enter its grand lobby with five huge brass chandeliers. The rooms (see photos) with their retro theme, have all the amenities a visitor needs plus complimentary mini bar for guests. Buffet breakfast fees are included in the accommodation rates. Trivia: The New York Times had its Manila office in the building during the American colonial era.

Slllloooowww service and too difficult to call the attention of the waiters just to ask for drinks or bill. The High tea inclusion was limited to few items that taste mediocre which was served after 40 minutes. Beverage options included in the package was hot chocolate or tea. Coffee is not included.

My wife and I stayed 3 Days and 2 nights at this lovely historic hotel before our flight back home to the US. The hotel is located right off Roxas Blvd with many nearby attractions to include the Luneta park, ocean park and the walled city (Intramuros). Very easy to catch a Grab taxi there is 24/7 security both roving and all luggage and personal bags also need to go under screening before check in. Check in was very smooth and efficient. What we really liked was it that we asked the manager on duty during our stay if they are able to give us a tour for General MacArthur suite. Manager said yes and introduced us to our tour guide Irish (Trainee). We could tell she loves her job and high regards to her and to all the questions she answered with a smile. The whole staff is very friendly, helpful and accommodating. Kudos to Diane for helping us to book a grab during our stay. We loved our Grand Deluxe Room which included a free breakfast buffet and is the perfect size for couples with Philippine traditional interior furniture design. The Wi-Fi was very strong and the TV had many channels to view. We used the Pool which was very clean and also included a pool side with mini bar All in all, great value for the $95 nightly rate we got via Agoda, when back in Manila we will stay here again.

Our family spent Christmas at The Manila Hotel last December. Overall, we had a nice stay despite some inconvenience with Christmas dinner reservation, internet connectivity, and some minor stuff. The hotel may provide more activities for families with kids to do during this season for a more memorable stay also.

We stayed for 3 nights, one stay of 2 and one of 1, as part of an organised tour. This is a lovely hotel with the entrance and reception / atrium area making a real impact. Large well appointed quiet rooms with good views over the harbour area. Excellent service and friendly staff. Good location for Rizal Park. The. Breakfast buffet was excellent with a seemingly limitless choice of different cuisines our Only criticism would be that the public areas and bars were too cold.
