Pros: - Fast and efficient check-in and check-out, including 4 PM check-out as Titanium member - Security personnel check and look underneath cars coming in and people go through scanner machines at the entrance - Lots of places to eat nearby, including some of the best Filipino restaurants in Manila 😋 - Two blocks away from Robinson's Mall with more places to eat and shop - Upgraded to a Junior Suite, which was nice and large with a good bed plus both shower and bathtub (but read under Neutral below) - Welcome gift of two apples and bag of coconut chips were waiting for me in my room...nice touch! - Slippers/robes/umbrella in-room - Daily bottles of water - Coffee/tea in-room, including a French press for the coffee - Plenty of power outlets, including for USB charging and on each side of the bed - Free breakfast in the Pacific Lounge until 10 AM on weekdays and 10:30 AM Saturday/Sunday as Bonvoy Elite benefit, otherwise it's PhP 1,350 p/person; amazing breakfast with Filipino delicacies, omelette station, Arabic station, etc. - Free pre-dinner cocktails/hors d'oeuvres in the Pacific Lounge 6-8 PM as Bonvoy Elite benefit, otherwise it's PhP 1,100 p/person Sunday to Wednesday and PhP 1,280 p/person Thursday to Saturday; amazing pre-dinner with various options so you may not even need to eat more afterwards - Had room service twice and both times the food was delivered promptly and was delicious (though one time they forgot to bring the drink I ordered) - Arranged transportation from the airport to the hotel for PhP 1,265 due to night arrival but not from the hotel to the airport as the taxi is about PhP 250 depending on traffic - Staff were really nice Cons: - Eight days after check-out and my Bonvoy points still had not posted (should take no more than 72 hours) so emailed the hotel twice to ask for my points, got replies they were looking into it but days went by and nothing, then decided to fill out a missing points form with explanations and attached bill on the Marriott website and finally took a total of 15 days after check-out for the points to post; never in the many years of being a Marriott/Starwood member had this taken so long 😠 Neutral: - Location is love-it or hate-it; not in the posh side of town but in the middle of the hustle-and-bustle area of Malate, specifically in Korea Town - Hotel is well maintained and charmingly decorated though in need of a refresh for a more modern look-and-feel - Elevator attendant in the lobby pressing the elevator button every time he sees you coming in is a bit much; the elevator does require that you tap your room key to go up to the floors - The complimentary enhanced room upgrade for Titanium members is to the BEST available room but the upgrade given was to the next available room instead but there are three room categories above Junior Suite; I know it's based on availability but the hotel did not seem to be full Miscellaneous: - Experience based on my Bonvoy Titanium status - No lounge per se but Bonvoy elites can avail to breakfast/pre-dinner benefits as mentioned above in the Pacific Lounge, which is actually a restaurant - Pool looked nice (did not use) - Small gym with treadmills, weight machines, and free weights (did not use); however, midway through my stay they started renovations so the gym should be enhanced when completed; meanwhile hotel provided access to a spa in the same building with a gym and massage services Impression: Great stay with inexplicable issue post check-out

Thank you for recognizing our pre-dinner cocktails and we look forward to have you when we opened our dedicated lounge for our elite members. On the other hand, please accept our apologies for the posting delay of your point’s credit on your BonVoy account. This hotel was already great but continues to get better. Since the last time I was there the lobby has been refreshed and the check in/out process has been simplified. The coffee shop has improved as well. The bed is extremely comfortable. I asked for extra pillows in advance and they were there when I arrived. The rooms are spacious and have great views. I used the laundry service and it was quick and reasonably priced. Their breakfast is one of the best parts of this experience. The food is fantastic and they keep it at proper temperature. The egg station cooks things to order and gets them to you quickly and the views from the floor to ceiling windows are amazing. The service is outstanding. I want to specifically call out Lloyd who recognized me and greeted me by name after 2 years away. He was amazing 2 years ago and even better this time. Everyone from the doorman, to security to the front desk, to the restaurant and everywhere between was friendly and helpful. Overall outstanding experience. I look forward to my next visit

I was on a seven day work trip that required reliable internet. After issues at another hotel, I unexpectedly ended up at the Sheraton Manila Bay. This hotel is superb for both work and touring. Service, cleanliness, amenities, all greatly exceeded my expectations. Start with service. All staff courteous, as expected, but the supervisory staff excelled. In the Pacific Lounge, a special nod to Jayson who made us feel at home from the very first moment we entered, to MJ’s friendly greetings and warm service, and to the morning supervisor Annie, who never failed to stop by the table for a chat and ensure we had everything we needed. I have performed virtual work from hotels around the world. As a short-term virtual workplace, this hotel was the best I have encountered. The room had a large desk area, plenty of universal power outlets, a very good desk chair, and multiple workspace lighting options. Wifi was consistently excellent and quick to connect throughout the hotel. There were numerous areas around the hotel where one could take calls and perform some work, both inside and out, with public spaces available 24 hours for those working across multiple time zones. Aside from the expected business services, there is a small conference room available off the lobby as well as several fully enclosed cubicles where one can have a private call or video chat. There is also available a no-charge self-service computer/printers/scanner that actually worked and had sufficient paper and toner. These details may sound unimportant to some readers, but business travelers know that attending to these little things prevents frustration and wasted time. Location is always an important factor when choosing an hotel. This is not an “upscale” part of Manila. This is a great hotel in an area some would call “seedy”. I felt the area was perfectly safe day and night, but I know some people may not feel comfortable at first if they are not used to staying in this type of ‘real world’ environment. The hotel is a block over from Mabini Street, an area that has historically been known for its bars and night life. My last stay in this area was over thirty years ago and I was surprised to see little has changed. Robinson’s Mall, now a very large, clean and modern mall, is a two block walk from the hotel. However, most sidewalks need repair, are blocked or are nonexistent. Still, the walk to Robinson's is easy, you just have to dodge the traffic while you walk – a very normal experience in the Philippines and many other countries! The rather central location of the hotel within Manila is good for tourists and others who will be visiting different parts of the city. Walkable to the U.S. Embassy and Rizal Park, with Intramuros a little further. A short taxi to Mall of Asia. Also short walk to the bay, but the Bay Walk is closed for construction unless you just want a selfie at that strange ‘Dolomite Beach’.

Facilities, services and staff behavior for the customers are very good. This is my first time to visit the hotel and I found it refreshing, from the lobby to room and venue of the event. The elevators are spacious to accommodate more persons. The area/floor for breakfast and dinner has a good ambiance to eat. The room where we stay is very relaxing. Services for the needs of the participants/visitors are very good even at the restroom. The staff are very attentive and courteous starting from the entrance to the venue and other

Just like my observation when I previously reviewed the former Pan Pacific from where it stands now , this must be in the cosmopolitan Makati or Bonifacio Global City vicinity. Philippine Korean village , or whatever you call it , stand in front of the 7-11 convenience store facing the hotel for 5 minutes, and a security staff will shoo you away . That’s how sketchy that place is. Anyway going back to the hotel, I love the professionalism of the staff. From security, bell personnel, front desk , operator and lobby bar. What is most noticeable is the friendly attitude of those manning the front of the elevator. Kudos to them. The interior design of the ground floor was really cool , updated. Loved the decors, and the spaciousness. The lobby bar and coffeeshop offers extended happy hour treats. But take note of the talented musical duo that performs on a nightly or only on weekend basis.? The junior suite was very functional, comfortable. Reminds me though of the previous layout of the Pan P. While I liked the huge flat screen Tv , it is the 24 room service menu that is really worth mentioning. The wifi is also fast , free and secured . Amenities like the swimming pool and fitness centre are open for extended hours. Breakfast at the topmost lounge was buffet and is a must try . Selections are extensive. Typical of a deluxe hotel . On hindsight I would like to thank the assistant manager for the sincere thank you note and recognition of me as a Bonvoy member. Will be back once the main restaurant, still on final touches, get operational.
