all good, excellent staff, but make sure you request a room in the back. first room i was given had an old noisy aircon and was street noise was really annoying. sounded like jeepneys were driving through the room. after i complained they moved me to a quiet room with a better aircon. restaurant downstairs is pricy but food is not bad and service good. all in all, i would stay here again but they really should replace all their old aircons when they charge these rates and should warn guests that the rooms in the front are not quiet.

Receptionist tried to assign me into smoking room on 6th floor (smoking floor and no elevator to 6th, means you have to climb the stairs from 5th floor) eventhough we had requested NON SMOKING room at the booking and reconfirmed by email a month before. After I refused that room, the receptionist still wanted us to accept that room, she said that the only room available, I still refused that room. After waited 1 more hour we could get non smoking room at 4th floor. (Check in time 2 pm, and we got our room at 3 pm). We stayed 2 nights and on the check out day I got a call at 10.45 to informed me that 11 am is the check out time (they can delay the check in time but we have to check out on time, huh). Room size is reasonable but the room was not quite clean, luckily the bed sheet was clean and bed was comfortable, AC work well. Bathroom was dirty, housekeeping did not clean it properly. Location is so-so. Close to robinson mall, small restaurants and Manila bay, but the neighbourhood was not nice. Breakfast was simple, need more choices.

Really great 3 star hotel. Best organized hotel in the Philippines (certainly would meet any western standard). While the neighborhood (two block Manila Bay & USA Embassy) is not great, we felt safe at the hotel. The hotel was very clean. Bestwestern La Corona is a newly (felt like) renovated hotel with some very old traditional transition areas. The hotel was very pleasant and had a nice restaurant. The rooms where not cramped. They had great bedding (cotton), plenty of lights and electrical outlets of all types. The accessories where the same as at any high quality hotel including a room safe. The shower (no bath) had extreme flow, extreme pressure & plenty of hot water. Had an elevator though it was only three floors, we used the stairs. The included buffet breakfast was very good for a 3 star hotel, nice atmosphere with many booths. They even allowed you to order omelettes & bacon from the kitchen at no extra charge. Fresh fruit, powder juices, fusion water, hot dishes, vegi's, hot dogs, great soup, high quality rice (not ordinary), bread, low end cakes, etc.,. 630-10am Location was fantastic if you have business on that side of Manila. 4 blocks walk to the huge Robinson Place Mall & Restaurants, 4 min walk to USA Embassy (turn right to ocean than left 50 meters to Roxas Highway overhead walking crossover), 4 min walk SLEC (turn left-left 3 blocks turn left 10 meters), right turn 3 block to Rizal Park & Museums, Ocean Park close but you might want to take taxi due to long park entrance, China Town stall cothes shopping is a short taxi away Observation: Our stay was quiet mostly except on a national holiday when you felt you were in the middle of a rock concert. The taxis the hotel gets you is "dangerous" (you could even get killed, beat up or robbed). The driver they got our family (with all our heavy luggage) to the airport, stopped six blocks from the hotel in middle of some crowded wet market and told us to get out. He did not want to wait in traffic all the way to the airport, he wanted more money (it could of been worst). My wife lit a candle at church thanking that we live through that experience.

We stayed here 2 nights, the room was quite rudimental but spacious. There is definitely room for improvement in the care of the building and of the room. The breakfast was not exceptional, with limited choice. The location is very good and convenient if you want to visit the main attractions in Manila. We would recommend it solely for its location.

Very Friendly Wait Staff and Hotel Staff. Always helpful and with a smile. They offer free morning new papers to be found on tables by the elevator or down by the cafe. I Always enjoy the buffet, if you want eggs cooked well, instead of the eggs at the buffet, you can request that they cook the eggs however you like. They are a 6 minute walk from Robinson's Mall, which has 2 starbucks located in the mall. there is one at the other side of the mall, which you would have to walk around the mall to get to that opens at 7 a.m. The mall does not open until 10 am. also near the mall is a great dentist. shop called Smiles more. see their website. The Rooms are nice at the La Corona and there is someone at the lobby, 24/7.. The showers have a wonderful shower head on them, kind of like rain falling on you. Very nice. there are 2 Seven eleven stores open 24 hours, one block away in either direction.
