We had a wonderful stay at Captains Villa. I booked after reading so many excellent reviews and it exceeded our expectations. We stayed for 8 nights in the family room. The room was clean, quiet and with a well equipped kitchen and effective air con. We loved our verrandah and lawn. We ate Flolise’s delicious breakfast every day. The papayas are home grown and the best I have ever tasted. We ate our evening meal at Captains Villa 4 times. Excellent fresh fish, with rice and fresh salad. Good home cooking. Definitely the freshest and tastiest food we ate during our stay. Flolise and Patrick are very kind and excellent hosts. We felt extremely well looked after throughout our stay. Flolise is very helpful organising a boat trip, car hire and our transfers. The location of Captains Villa is perfect for enjoying the quieter beaches of the Southern part of the island. Just opposite Captains Villa is the beautiful Anse Forbans. We loved it here. We hired a car during our stay and enjoyed beach hopping. Anse Royale, Fairyland Beach, Anse Intendence and Anse Takamaka are all within 15 mins easy drive. I am so pleased I chose Captains Villa. We hope to return here one day!…
We had the absolute pleasure of a weeks stay here in February. An incredible location with Anse Forbans on your doorstep. The sunrises are stunning. We stayed in the 2 bed apartment and it was delightful, everything we could have needed. What made the stay so special was Flolise. She was such an attentive host - the fresh mangoes tasted amazing! Flolise and her family made the stay even more special than we dreamed - arranging our wedding vow renewal on the beach, our daughters birthday cake and a family evening meal. We left with so many happy memories and would 100% recommend Captain's Villa.
Beautiful villa located on southern Mahé. Beach Anse Forbans is a short walk from the villa. Breakfast with eggs of your choice, fresh fruits, juice, toast and pancakes. I recommend hiring a car at Mahé. There’s free parking. Hosts were lovely and very welcoming.
What should I start with? Seychelle’s are a paradise, and it’s not just a cheesy word to describe a tropical island, it’s true. I cannot think of a better image to describe paradise than Seychelle’s and I’ve been to many similarly described places. Now about Captain’s Villa: everything to the tiniest detail is done with care, love and heart. You can feel it every single minute you are here. The most stunning garden with freshly picked fruits for breakfast. The cleanest coziest rooms equipped with whatever you might possibly need with such convenient terraces overlooking the lush jungles and granite rocks. Flolise is always there to take care of you and provide you with anything else you might need. It’s literally half a minute walk to one of the prettiest beaches of all three islands that I’ve been to and what is even more important: the quietest! Almost nobody around. The breakfasts are so mouth-watering that I was looking forward to it starting from previous evenings. The people...I don’t know how to even put this into words. They make you feel not like a guest, but like an actual part of their family. It felt as if I was their distant relative who came to visit from abroad. All family helps you out and is overly friendly to you. Valina is such a warm-hearted person who has the most interesting life story! And she makes such a delicious breakfast. Scott has driven us around the island (you should definitely hire him if you can) and showed some secret view points that take your breath away and told us some more information about the history of this country which I couldn’t find anywhere else. Flolise is just the goddess of hospitality! She does everything possible to make you feel relaxed. She cooked two amazing dinners for us, printed my PCR test, gave me all the info and recommendations about our itinerary needed and helped book the tour to the islands and the rental car AND even allowed me to have a late check-out on my last day free of charge, gave us some fruit to take home and what not. Honestly, communication with locals and especially Flolise’s family has been the highlight of my trip. So much so that after having spent four days at her place (I was supposed to move to the other part of the island after and stay at another guesthouse) I cancelled all my previous plans and stayed with them for four more days. My friends and I will come back here FOR SURE, and hopefully not even once or twice. Thank you so much making vacation a dream come true! Love, Julia!…
Amazing hospitality was offered us from the beginning of our journey when owner provided help with finding affordable and suitable car for rent, it was very kind from her side. We were met with refreshing juices and coconut snacks on arrival. Place is very lovely, clean, with big terrace for breakfast and there is a lot of space between tables so it was easy to follow social distancing. Rooms were cleaned every day and towels were changed periodically. we were also offered beach towels which was very comfortable. Temperature was checked every day and owners were asking us about our well being, so i have to say that cleanliness and hygiene are at high level there with all standards. Valla owners Flolise and Patrick were very nice, kind and helpful in any questions we had. There is breakfast available in the hotel and there are several options available. Breakfast was very delicious and quite big with variety of fresh fruits from Owner's garden. Also there was option provided for dinner at special day which included several dishes and was delicious and affordable. We wish we could enjoy dinner options every day as places nearby don't provide such tasty and cheap food. Beach is clean and long, it is just in front of the villa. I have travelled across the island and have to admit that it was one of the best beaches that are on island. There are corals and fish which makes that place amazing for snorkeling and swimming. There is a small shop with water and snacks, there is no food there but at least you can find something 5 minutes away on foot. There are couple of restaurants 5 -10 minutes by car from the hotel. Villa is located in very green place 15 minutes away from the airport. So location is comfortable to get to any part of the island if you want to explore it. Owners provide you with parking slot for your car on the territory of the hotel which is secured. we were living on second floor of back side of the building with amazing view on mountains and palms. so every evening we were sitting on the terrace, enjoying our view and lovely time spending. Morning time you can see sunrise on the beach! the view is terrific!!! So to sum up i want to say that place is affordable, nice, clean and cozy, but it is not only the place i like, it is more about the owners who helped us to feel ourselves comfortable and helped to make our stay enjoyable. Huge gratitude to Flolise and Patrick and all their staff for their hospitality, kindness help and that amazing place that they created with love for tourists. ))))) thank you so much!!!! i strongly recommend this place to everybody who wants to visit Seychelles and enjoy your stay )…
Captain’s Villa is a clean, safe and friendly environment in a perfect spot to travel from in Mahe. Flolise is the most perfect hostess, goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs and made the stay even more special. The breakfast was delicious, best we have had- even organic fruits from the garden! And we had little touches like chocolates left for Easter- so sweet! The Hilton is a short walk away if you want to use their beach and pool facilities for free and also some other beaches walkable. Wherever you stay in Mahe you will want to hire a car to see the most of the island and Florise sorted this for us easily. We all are so glad we chose to stay here rather than a big chain hotel. Thank you so much for a beautiful stay! :)
We didn't know where we would have gone to spend our quarantine in Seychelles but, very soon, we learnt that we would have been pampered...or spoiled... Yes, we had a wonderful experience: nice apartment, well equipped, all the conforts, 100 mt from the beach. Flo, the very kind lady owner of the establishment, made ourselves at home: she took us all the food we asked and, every morning we found such good fruits on the table of the veranda for breakfast. Thank you, Flo! One more quarantine....one more Captain's villa.
We have spent a couple of days at Captains Villa and the location is one of the best from what you can find on Mahe. We were so relaxed and welcomed by the owners Patrick and Flolise who made sure we had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. The villa was very clean, tidy and just a minute walk to the spectacular Anse Forbans beach. The place is also very accommodating for groups and families with children. With the Covid situation, they have ensured all the health and sanitary measures have been put in place to welcome their guests. Definitely will come back here.
Captain's Villa is a true gem of a guest house, run with great charm and efficiency by Flolise and her husband. The welcome was warm and sincere, the house has a wonderful airy reception hall and spacious bedrooms, and everywhere is so spotlessly clean both inside and out that we felt we would happily eat a meal off almost any surface. Our room had comfortable twin beds and a useful fridge, with a huge shower room en suite, along with excellent air conditioning and access to an outside terrace. Breakfast is served outside on a wide terrace at the back of the villa overlooking the lovely garden, and the range on offer was very good. An evening meal can be ordered and enjoyed in the same location, and as there are not too many alternative eateries in the vicinity (unless you have a car) the offer to eat dinner at Captain's Villa is most welcome. We found the 2-course evening meals to be very good value, beautifully presented and very tasty. The location couldn't be better - just five minutes away across the coast road is one of the best beaches on the island. All in all, we would recommend Flolise and Captain's Villa unreservedly, and if we are lucky enough to return to the Seychelles we would stay here again in a heartbeat.…
Everything is beautiful, the food they make is just amazing. 😉 The fresh fish cooked in the creole's way is magnificent and Ranga the cook is a very good. The hosts and the staff are extremely good people and are very helpful. The location is perfect for relaxing and laying back, its situated just across the road to one of the nicest beaches on the island in my opinion. The villa is very clean no complaints from me just compliments, keep it up guys!
