My partner and I stayed here on our way to the islands. The booking experience was easy with quick responses from Thomas. Seamless airport pick up and transfer back the next day. Wonderful breakfast. Clean and spacious room. We didn’t have much time to enjoy the hotel due to our flight times but what we experienced was great.

Wonderful hotel! We had just over 24 hours to layover in Male before catching a live aboard dive boat. Staff from Sala met us at the airport and transferred us, along with the other three couples we were traveling with, to the hotel. We were exhausted from the long travel time and this place was the perfect place to recover! The charming hotel is located in the middle of the bustling city, but is an oasis all its own. Raj was incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The attached restaurant was outstanding and accommodated our large group easily. Everything we tasted was delicious. There is also a very good coffee shop directly across the street. The included breakfast was also excellent. We would absolutely stay here again. Thank you, Raj and staff, for a delightful stay!

We stayed at this hotel overnight, en route to one of the island resorts and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beautiful 120 yr old hotel with the enclosed courtyard is peaceful and lovely and the rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. The service is very attentive. Raj, the manager made sure we were very comfortable here and was very responsive to our every need. Manoj checked us in and seemed to be everywhere, serving us dinner in the fantastic restaurant (you must eat here) and then popping up again at breakfast (which was also very good). Definitely a place we would stay in again if we are in Male.

This boutique hotel is part of a Thai restaurant in Male City, Maldives. I didn’t know what to expect from a hotel that seems to be mainly restaurant and secondarily hotel, but decided to book there anyway because the idea was intriguing. What a great idea! The hotel is attached to the restaurant (separate recommendation) and has about 4 suites. When we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find that we’d been upgraded. Although there are only 4 units, at the Sala Boutique size doesn’t matter as they are extremely professional. The small size allows for the staff to anticipate all our needs, which translated into some of the best service we’ve encountered in our travels. The continental breakfast had a large selection of meats and cheeses, as well as breads and pastries. Additionally the hotel offers eggs cooked to individual desires. Sort of like a continental breakfast on steroids. The rooms were very well-kept and the cleanliness won me over instantly. Although the weather in the Maldives was hot and super humid, the air conditioning in our room kept us nice and cool after a long day of sightseeing and was a most welcome respite. The attention to detail in the furniture, decoration, dishware, etc. was not lost of me. Even better was the excellent Thai restaurant that we used for our dinners. There’s nothing worse than trying new restaurants while traveling that can be hit or miss. We left each meal very, very satisfied and happy. All in all, there was not a thing that was lacking and I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone who needs lodgings in Male. In fact, staying here for a bit before heading to the resorts would afford a complete picture of Male that may be lacking with only a resort stay.
