While the city of KL chases modernization opting for sleek, urban, and futuristic designs, The Yard takes a step back into the familiar architecture of a simplified Malay abode. I call it homely because it had only 12 rooms altogether, all facing a comfortable small courtyard where smokers can smoke and chill (rooms are non-smoking but you can puff away...

We stayed three nights here and although the room was a little small, we really enjoyed our stay. The bathroom was huge and the rain shower was the best. We chose this hotel because it had a courtyard and we didn't want to be cooped up in a hotel room, and we weren't disappointed. Sitting under the huge shady tree...

The Yard is small, gentle and quiet, tucked away in a back street of Bukit Bintang. To be honest, we were rather taken aback when we entered the room because until the key card is put into the slot, the room is dark, with no natural light. Once the lights are on, the un-painted walls give the impression of 'incompleteness'....

the yard is announced as a boutique hotel, but instead it is the lowest class of accomodation: old, worn-out, dirty, in-locked rooms!!! the surrounding is terrible as the so called hotel: you nearly feel in a slum with rats running around everywhere. we booked in advance two nights and arrived very late, but when we left in shock after the...

I was there last weekend in kl and planned for a stay in this hotel. The facilites given was fairly good but the spot light in the shower section was faulty and they could not replaced it as there was no spare bulb. The aircond was poor as if was not cold enough to cool up the room surroundings. We...

Maybe I'm over-excited but I've got to say that this place is exceptionally amazing, with their customer service oriented & friendly staffs, those vintage concepts and of course the cleanliness of the room has got us totally fell in love with! Good news is, there's varieties of seafoods & munchies for you to foodhunt if you can't sleep at night....

This small hotel in Tengkat Tong Shin has 12 rooms and is ideal for the budget traveller. Located in a side alley off the main road, the hotel is tastefully furnished with a huge tree in the courtyard which gives good shade. Rooms are nice with a big bathroom. There is a fridge, a safe and a TV in the...

An absolutely fair deal for the backpacker who looks for a servicable accomodation balancing price and comfort: - rooms are big enough and practical; could be slightly larger to accomodate 2 large backpacks - bathroom is great - wifi works fine - good location for exploring; the hotel itself is a bit secluded from the busy streets

Good boutique hotel with a great location next to Jalan Alor. Fair price for value. Clean and with a good shower. For the price it would have been good to have the breakfast included (even a small one).

If I am not mistaken, this boutique hotel is "related" to Courtyard @ Heeren in Malacca. It is really a hidden treasure in a middle of a buzy area (Alor - Changkat). Location is spot on as it is surrounded by lots of eateries, shops, clubs and pubs. The rates are reasonable. Rooms are nice and cosy but for the...
