This is an outstanding hotel which excels at every interaction with all staff. Rooms are classic Shangri-La style, think classic and opulent, with a large modern TV, and very nice amenities. The Horizon Club executive lounge was incredibly good, with the lounge manager, Ms Zie and her team ensuring wonderful service at all times. The lounge also had an excellent section of wine- 3 white and 3 red to choose from as well as a nice list of cocktails. The pool area was well kept and staff there were also very attentive. Overall this is an exceptional hotel, an a must stay for anyone travelling to KL.

Our first visit to SRL was an afternoon tea at Lobby Lounge. Then we decided to have a staycation in SRL. The moment I met the personnel that greeted me with happy smile, I knew I was going to fall in love with SRL, and I did! The hospitality provided by the hotel staffs was commendable. The suite we stayed was spacious with a working station, a separate living area and the comfortable large bed. The ensuite marble bathroom was marvelous. I like the two basins, one for me and one for him. I enjoyed my time in the bathtub while watching the TV. Oh yes, they have a TV in the bathroom. The premium toiletries provided by SRL was lovely too. We had our afternoon tea and cocktails with canapes in the Club Lounge. The staffs were courteous and helpful. The breakfast buffet at Lemon Garden was delicious with many choices available. Overall, we had a wonderful staycation in SRL. We will be back for birthday and anniversary celebration ;)

If you’re looking for a relaxing, welcoming hotel in Kuala Lumpur then look no further. Upon arrival until departure we were treated as VIPs by all staff in the hotel, it was such a huge contrast from other establishments we have visited throughout the world. The food is magnificent and well presented, the staff are so friendly and well presented. Whilst in KL we celebrated our silver wedding and were given a room upgrade and had acknowledgement of this whilst dining in the Horizon club, thanks to Zie and her staff. Everyone in the hotel should be proud of themselves and our thanks to everyone from the bellboys to room service as well as reception through to the GM whom we met. We will be certainly returning in the not to distant future. The only disappointing note i can think of is that we are unable to buy the Shangri-La essence online. See you soon MAN (concierge) and Captain F( captain my captain) who were also outstanding in both the service and the fun times we had.

Very nice place for long or short stays. Services 5stars. Facilities 5stars. Staff are welcoming and deserve 5 stars. The customer service provided was excellent! It made our stay there memorable! My husband and I absolutely love this place. The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. One of our favourite hotels. All the Restaurants are amazing, we enjoyed several time linch and dinnetr in all of them and the quality was amazing! Can’t wait to come back!

Our family stayed at the Shangri-La for eight nights up to the 27th September as our base for a family wedding. We’ve been a fan of Shangri-La’s for years and this one didn’t disappoint. The hotel is quiet, has large open spaces, ideal for us to get together to plan and de-brief, and is maintained in excellent condition. We had three rooms including a corner suite which were all well appointed, had modern fit out and were very well maintained. Our reason for picking Shangri-La’s is the great staff and this one didn’t disappoint, the best we have stayed at. Wedding travellers were in four hotels and the consensus was ours was the best and became the common meeting ground. Because we were coming and going over the week, we took Horizon Club access. This worked well as a meeting place for breakfast and a quiet place for a de-brief afternoon tea or cocktails. The Club is all inclusive and fantastic value. Staffing at the Club were brilliant, Liana and Azizi plus the afternoon team looked out for us and spoilt us when we were flagging after a full day. The morning team were also brilliant, two lovely ladies (whose name I cannot remember) treated our 10-year old granddaughter like a princess and made her holiday. Other facilities worked well; we used the pool to cool down. It has a large area for a well-positioned metro hotel and was also safe place for kids plus offering adults only areas. When we ate, it was usually in the lobby lounge which is quiet but has full service including all the restaurant menus. Spending an hour in early evening looking out over the pond and KL Tower with live music in the background was a great way to unwind after a hot day. The Shangri-La’s location is central and near the Bukit Nanas monorail station. We used the MRT to visit: Central Market; Times Square; the Pavilion and Sentral – the monorail is a good way of just looking around town. Grab is the local Uber and we used that for point-to-point travel to: KL Tower; Petronas Towers; and some of the wedding destinations. On Grab, 15 ringgit ($A3) gets you a long way. When we need more wedding logistics the hotel helped us with cars and vans. It took a little time to set up the MRT tap and go and a Grab account, but it was worth the effort. KL is hot and not a walk around city. We charged a lot to our room (I always suggest getting a trial bill the day before), the bill was less than we expected, meals for two in the lobby with wine were around the $A50 (150 ringgit) mark and other services were also on the affordable side. On the COVID side, Malaysia is just emerging. Masks are highly desirable which is generally adhered to by Malaysians but Europeans and Australians struggle. The Shangri-La adheres to the policy but was relaxed with us which was much appreciated, masks and tropical heat to not go together. All the staff we talked to were triple vaccinated, masked and the hotels wide airy spaces make for a safe environment. We had a great time and with family in Malaysia intend returning in the near term, the next trip is already in planning to Kuala Lumpur, Penang and Singapore on a more relaxed tourist timetable. Unlike some other Asia Pacific destinations Malaysia is quiet for tourists and a good place to travel to.

We planned a last minute escape to celebrate our anniversary during the school holiday and it turned out to be a great time with Shangri-La KL! From the time we arrived at the hotel, it happened to be afternoon tea time for Horizon Club and we enjoyed the checkin without any waiting time -  welcomed by very friendly service team, delicious food and drinks - no time wasted at all. After the refreshments which pulled us back from the flight, we were guided to our room with a sweet surprise - "congratulations" gift for our anniversary - My wife definitely liked it:) During the stay with the hotel, we were also offered an upgrade to a bigger room with a tent for the boy - our son really loved it and slept in the tent for the remaining nights. Thanks a lot for the effort to arrange during the school holiday peak period. We really enjoyed  every moment for the 4 days in KL and Shangri La. Finally Thumbs up to Thela, Shah and the team [excuse me if I have spelled the names wrongly] for the extremely friendly service and sweet arrangement. Keep up the great work and our son said would like to stay with Shangri La again in our next visit to KL:)

We have been coming here for twenty years. On this occasion we stayed in premier suite 2628 with the usual access to Horizon Club facilities. We were delighted to see that many of our friends from previous visits weathered the storm of the last two years and were there to meet us with genuine warmth and kindness. Zie is a special person as Service Manager who was so pleased to see us and gave us exceptional service throughout. Yi Xin was also continuously helpful . Azizi Latif, Front Desk Supervisor, went out of his way to be continuously helpful. Ina and Thela in the Horizon Club were also kind and helpful. Really, all the staff, from room cleaners upward, should be congratulated for the unerring service they provided. As mentioned, we constantly return to this hotel; this was our eighth visit and we are planning to return again next year. We’ll done everyone.

Stayed in an executive room, with a tub, so that's great. And received overall good service from all staff, appreciate that too. But the dealbreaker is the pillows - all of them are clearly well-used and hence too soft. I had to use the spare pillow (luckily that is much less used by others before me, so it was still sort of firm). Please improve this aspect to avoid disappointments for future visitors. It'll be a shame for this to overshadow the good service of the staff.

Amazing stay. Dated hotel but it’s adequate. Excellent experience from the moment we got off from the car, check-in, check-out, food and service at the horizon lounge, swimming pool, breakfast at the lemon garden, lunch at lobby lounge, and in room dining, the kids program… everything is just amazing. Well trained staff! Can’t wait to stay again.

The Shangri-La KL used to be perfect before Covid but now it is only wonderful in parts. The horizon executive lounge is the most unfriendly place managed by bossy ladies and is not worth paying to use. it is full of children from the pool. Sad to report that the bar across the road is much more friendly with better food for breakfast and dinner- Gravey-Baby. The Shangri-La Bangalore runs a better and wonderful executive lounge and a better Shang Chinese restaurant than KL. Management needs to wake up. On the other side the Japanese restaurant Zipangu was perfect and room service food impeccable. as always the lobby and bedrooms were beautiful
