2022 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
Best described as Kuala Lumpur's ultimate treat to nest in. This ravishing villa-in-a-room boutique hotel is one-of-a-kind in the capital city. Tucked within an upscale locale just 10 minutes drive from town, Villa Samadhi becomes an immediately accessible respite to restore soul into one’s exhausted self. Its collection of 21 contemporary Asian-inspired rooms, with each spanning from 600 square-foot to over 2000 square-feet of living spaces are accented with a collage of elements to create a raw yet sophisticated Asian dwelling. Discreetly set apart from street view, the most distinguishing feature of Villa Samadhi is the massive, soaring grass thatched-roof that shouts 'Malaysia'. Open the bamboo-clad gate and enter a peaceful abode.

First and foremost, considering the pricing of the hotel and the compliments they received on Tripadvisor, I put a high expectation on the hotel myself. That is what usually let you down, expectation. I am here to share my experience. I made a last minute booking, checking in on a weekday, via their website. We arrived at around 3pm and were greeted by a security guard with list of guest details. However, I couldn't find my name on the list. A lady came, pointed to a poorly scribbled name (which, except the surname, had no resemblance to my name) and informed that that's my booking. After we parked our car in the relatively empty parking area, the same lady scurried by (no greeting, offer no direction to the lobby and no assistance to help with luggages). Check-in was swift with no welcome drink despite specified explicitly as complementary in the website. The biggest disappointment was the Luxe Crib we were assigned to. It's a sparsely decorated dark room with musty smell. The room comes with a balcony overlooking next-door residence and road; and has a big fish tank with 2-3 small fishes - not the type of room I've anticipated after paying more than MYR1,100++. Also no one informed during the booking and check-in process that my request for a room with nice view cannot be met. When voicing dissatisfaction about the room, the front desk showed attitude and demanded us (more than once) to pay extra for an upgrade if we insisted a room with nice view as apparently we booked the last Luxe Crib room. Having stayed in many hotels and resorts, we have not encountered such treatment. Our experience was ruined by the first 30 minutes in Villa Samadhi. We were lucky to meet a friendly staff while having complementary afternoon tea. There was a 360 degree change to our stay after the issue was brought to his attention. We were upgraded to a Sarang room with swimming pool view. Free red wine was brought to the door - a pleasant surprise which we appreciated. We also had an enjoyable breakfast and swim the next morning. It would have been a perfect stay should our concern / request was better managed.

This is a perfect place for couples celebrating anniversary, birthday, honeymoon or just simply spending time together. A different ambiance that is within the city. We have booked the crib luxe to enjoy and experience the whirlpool. A perfect place over the weekend or short getaway from a busy weekday work. Sarang luxe should be the perfect room since you will have direct access to the pool. Food in the resto is nice and yummy as well, big servings and good for sharing. We will definitely be back and will try the loft and luxe sarang next time 😊

Came here for a night to relax and unwind. The experience from arriving to checking out has been incredible. We booked the luxe sarang room, which is a pool access room. Our room has a smaller balcony, but comes with an incredibly spacious dual rainshower which opens to the hot tub. (Other rooms had larger balconies but smaller shower area) No complains as the room is pretty sexy where the shower is completely open to the bed which was directly next to the pool access. But we were able to leave our curtains open the entire time as the room wasn't facing any other area accessible by other patrons apart from the pool. The service by the hotel staff were excellent yet professional. Even the security personnel who directs you to your car park is friendly and greeted us courteously whenever he sees us. In terms of furnishings, they are a little bit dated (due to the hotel's age), but cleanliness is definitely top notch. They had all day breakfast which was convenient, meaning you can choose any time you want to have your first meal without needing to worry that breakfast is over by the time you wake up. Food standard is good in my opinion. The taste is pretty flavourful, unlike many other hotel standards, which were expected to be subpar. The nasi lemak and roti canai were surprisingly good! Only let down, if ever considered one, was the room only had one cassette aircon which can be abit warm in the afternoon, the scorching weather didn't help either. We were actually sweating at night. If the management has a budget for refurbishment, perhaps can invest in a separate aircon unit to cool down the large room. I'd always write a long review whenever I experience good service as I always believe service precedes everything else in terms of hotel experience. Do keep up the good work.

We stayed here for 3 nights as the first part of our honeymoon. We were met at the airport and driven to the hotel. The hotel is in a quiet area just out of the city centre surrounded by embassies. The room was large and luxurious. Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The rooms all surround a rather splendid pool which made for a great place to chill out. The staff were attentive, eager to help and very warm and friendly. Food was excellent, breakfast is available all day (good when you arrive early in the morning and want to sleep!) and the complementary afternoon tea and sundowner cocktails were great. We were also able to book their driver to take us across the country to our next stay on our honeymoon. We can thoroughly recommend this hotel, it is a wonderful place.

Villa Samadhi was as expected; great location, the perfect vibes and amazing hospitality! The suite was as per the pictures, the food was tasty and the privacy we received was what we needed - we were comfortable from the moment we stepped into the Villa. No children policy was a bonus. Would love to return in the near future!

Had a great staycation at this truly unique spot in the heart of KL. You don't expect to see something like this in the middle of the city. Driving off the busy Ampang street, into a leafy tranquil area populated by many embassies. Simple, quick and friendly check in and then we ushered to our Sarang room which came with a kitchenette (which we didn't use, but already planning on using it for a future longer stay). Very comfortable bed, high pressure rain showers and we spent a lot of time in the plunge pool. Plunge pool heater and water jet is on timer, 2pm to 5pm and then 6pm to 11pm, but it was more than enough time for us to enjoy. We ordered room service from the small but tasty ala carte menu, food came on time and was on point. Chicken satay and lamb rack were very good, mee goreng could do with a bit more chilli but we asked for some additional sambal which they happily brought around. Breakfast the following morning was a lazy indulgent affair, you can order anything you like from the ala carte menu, no limits, and the roti canai with dhall is surprisingly very very tasty. Breakfast is served in their one and only restaurant by their lagoon shaped pool. Only downer was that their spa was fully booked, they only have one spa therapist on duty but was informed they are looking for more spa staff. A wonderful much needed break.

I just proposed to my girlfriend at this wonderful villa as we both love to go staycation here due to their unique rooms. Mr Yega and his team are super wonderful people. They provide superb customer service and always ready to help. The surprise proposal wouldn't go well if it wasn't for Mr Yega's help. He provided me with suggestions and actively asking me if he could be of any assistance. I have booked 4 rooms (2 luxe sarang and 2 luxe crib). I went in to see all of those rooms and I'm amazed that every room is different. We also had dinner at Tamarind springs. The ambience and food was amazing. Highly recommend. Looking forward to go on staycation here again.
