Overall, my stay at Step Inn was quite satisfactory. Staff was competent and helpful from check-in to check-out, pointing me towards nearby restaurants, mapping out the local area, and returning clean and folded laundry within 12 hours. The location was great, within walking distance of Jalan Alor, Bukit Bintang, KLCC and Chinatown. Bus, metro and taxi stand also close. My...

Hostel had nice and friendly stuff. Breakfast was basic with toast and and jam. Room had two beds, a mirror and a fan in it with Windows, so it was ok. They have a nice garden area outside. Location is very good with China town near by and lots of good choices. Cheap price.

Let me start this off by saying the young lady who was working the front desk was incredibly nice, welcoming, and unfortunately the only good thing about this place. My boyfriend and I have been backpacking all over Asia for the past month and this is by far the worst place we stayed. The beers out front were pretty cheap,...

I chose KL as my base camp for exploring Asia thanks to cheap Air Asia flights. Had a guitar and longboard with me, so it was crucial to have a place where I could te,porarily store my stuff when I was going on some trips with just a backpack. Staff was super helpful. Also we had jam sessions every other...

This place is dirt cheap but dirt is the word to focus on. By a distance the filthiest place we've stayed in in three months travelling. And to top it off we saw BED BUGS!!! Pay the extra and stay in step inn too which is on the same Street.

Dear Guest, My apologies for the problems with your recent stay.. We continually try to do our very best for all of our guests, but unfortunately, sometimes we do fail. You guys have stayed with us 2 nights, if you have mentioned anything on your 2nd day to our reception about your room problem or anything else we could have...

My stay was just average. The building seems quite old and a little worn down. Facilities are fine but not wonderfully clean. Beds were actually quite comfortable, but again the rooms were average. Location is central. I think you could find better options for maybe a dollar or two extra.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
There are two things we are proud of here at Step Inn. First, is our excellent location. We are situated in the well-known Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur, where everything is easily within walking distance. In this area is the busy China Town(10 mins), street food heaven Jalan Alor(10 mins), the best bar street in town Changkat(10 mins), shopping central Bukit Bintang(15 minutes), and the famous Petronas Towers(30 mins). We are also a few minute walk to the local metro(LRT), airport shuttle(Star Shuttle), and one of the central bus terminals(Pudu Sentral), so you can easily plan your next destination. The second thing we pride ourselves in, is our hospitality. We do our best to establish, a warm homey environment. The moment you walk in the door, you are considered part of the family. We provide a free map and enjoy giving tips on the city, so you can fill your few days or maybe many days, with lots of things to do. Our knowledgeable staff can also give suggestions for your continuing journey out of Malaysia's capital city. For being a budget guest house we do provide a couple perks that you won't find in many places, in the Golden Triangle. We have many types of rooms' available, double-ensuite, double, single, family, and dormitory beds. All rooms are clean, with a window and fan. On check in we provide you with a fresh towel & free roll of toilet paper(for single, double, en-suite, & family rooms only). In the morning, there is a free simple breakfast, with all day coffee and tea, that will help you get started so you can begin your tour of this great city. We provide 24 hour reception and free WiFi in every room, so you can stay connected at all times or get help at any hour. So, if you are looking for a homey budget guest house, with an excellent location, great knowledgeable staff, and nice facilities, please Step Inn. ***We offer special prices for walk-in and email customers*** ***Now if you book 3 days or more with any of our booking sites, you are eligible for a free meal at our restaurant TG's Nasi Kandar.*** ... more   less
