This place is about as youth hostel as a youth hostel can be. That's not a negative thing by any means, but I saw a family check in as we were leaving and I felt kind of bad for them. Toyo is definitely designed for the young, unmarried, budget backpacker. That being said, you can't beat these prices. A private... More

This hostel was a good place to stay in Osaka. It is near a subway and Shinimamiya station so I was able to easily navigate around. The staff were very accommodating, and the rooms and toilets were clean. It was nice staying here because unlike in dormitories, I have my own room and it was also cheap.

Thera are many cheap hotels in the area around the Shin Imamiya station, some even cheaper, by far the cheapest area to stay in all of Japan. With direct trains to KIX, Koyasan, Nara. Also a large supermarket, a Montbell outdoors shop, ... at Tennoji 5 minutes on foot. But this hotel is not only cheap but also excellent. They... More

This hotel is a great base in Osaka. The area itself, as others have mentioned, is not the nicest...but by no means is it really bad and you still feel safe. Right next to the JR line and subway station, it is very easy to get anywhere from the hostel. There are loads of great restaurants round the corner, a... More

Entrance is a bit smelly but the staff was very friendly. Rate here was cheap compare to what you get. Small but private room, comfort enough for one person with big backpack. Laundry service is very easy and cheap here but please don't forget to bring your own dryer sheets. There are free wifi here but very slow, can't really... More

So nice! more of a hostel, than a hotel, but you get your own room, which is a really nice change. The staff are really helpful, and they have a good kitchen, etc so you can cook food, or eat there. They also have rental bicycles, for 500 yen a day, which is kinda expensive, but seems to be the... More

Very good for the price. It's basically a hostel, but with individual rooms. I had a bar fridge, tv and aircon in my room. Free wifi and in a good location. The area is a bit seedy by japanese standards but I still felt safe. Would definitely stay here again.

Oh boy the hostel is old and mushy, the corridor and rooms look like in prison (with the same quality) but it was awesome!! After some days of traveling around and sharing rooms with other people, Toyo was like heaven on earth as I had my own room for super cheap price. Yes true the surroundings is not a picturesque,... This place is located at a prime location in the Osaka. They offer single rooms which are pretty small but comfortable. There is a common room on the ground level which gives a nice opportunity to meet new people. You also get free breakfast at a cafe next door. The nearest subway (Dobutsuen-Mae) is less than 50 meter walk. The... More
