My first Ryokan - I have no idea what to expect but this place set a good standard. Perfect location to Dotonburi and busy area in Osaka. About 5kins walk to nearest station and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The best of all is that you have the option of shower in your own room and communal Onsen....

This is a great place but what impressed us most was the front desk person's advice (which he offered without our request) that saved us much hassle on our return to Tokyo. Specifically, he recommended changing from Shinkansen to Narita Express at Shinagawa instead of at Tokyo because Shinigawa is a much smaller station so save about 15 minutes of...

The building is older, the staff are very helpful. Wish there were nonsmoking rooms. A bit noisy because of location but that wasn't a problem - we just used earplugs. The location was great! Didn't try the breakfast.

This is our first ryokan experience in Japan. It took us a while to get used to the raised floor and small bathroom, but the location was fantastic. It's right by the side of a waterway (canal) as well as within walking distance to a big shopping hub with numerous restaurants, shops, bars and department store nearby. Our only disappointment...

I really loved this ryokan! The room was beautiful, clean, and spacious. I loved the cultural experience of a traditional Japanese room and there was a nice view of the city and canal below from the window. The staff were also really lovely and accomodating! One of the gentlemen there even went so far as to call us a hatchback...

Two years ago I stayed at Kaneyoshi Ryokan and after staying in a ryokan in Fukuoka, this was a cleaner and nicer upgrade for us. It was conveniently located in the Dotonburi area but in the heart of the nightlife. We could definitely hear the drunk people outside as we slept but those kinda things don't bother us. It's apart...

I really wanted to stay here for our two-night Osaka trip because the reviews were good, but when I called a couple days before my trip to Osaka to ask about a late check-in (my flight was to arrive at 1:20am) and possible arrangements to check in late, the man on the other end of the line told me that...

We stayed here for 3D2N. Location of the place is excellent as it's right smack in the middle of Dotonbori/Namba area. The only downside is is it's maybe a bit of a distance to walk from the nearest train station especially if you're lugging a lot of bags. (we alighted at Namba on the Midosuji Line). The staff can speak...

This place was wonderful and my husband and I loved it. The public baths are great for relaxing, and yukatas and towels are provided. The rooms are traditional with tatami mats, futons, and our room even had a great little side room with a table and two chairs next to a large window that overlooked the canal in Dotonbori. The...

The best part of this hotel is the location, right in the center of Dotonbori. Don't stay anywhere else in Osaka. The hotel itself is fairly old and was converted to Japanese ryokan-style rooms with tatami mats. Of course, while the service across Japan is consistently high and the staff here were very helpful and spoke decent English, the service...
