We stayed for a total of 4 nights to conclude our maiden trip to Japan and what a wonderful way to conclude our holiday. The premium king corner room and the humongous amount of space was such a relief. Together with all the breathtakingly spectacular views, these are the precious memories we will cling on too.
Breakfast at Cooka live kitchen (3000 yen between 0630 to 10 am) had all the usual suspects on offer. Not truly extensive but higher quality than your typical tourist class variety.
Staff are well trained, professional and aims to please. Did not really interact much with them due to a fairly full itinerary.
8 mins train ride to Namba station. As Tennoji is a major transport hub, you have multiple train options for your commute to places of attraction.
Thann range of toiletries together with Nespresso capsules were some perks found in the room.
This 5 star property is not without its blindspots, (please read other reviews posted), travelers seeking a luxury escape, pampering and exclusivity must moderate expectations.
As for us, we could not be happier. Wonderful way to conclude our holiday in Japan.

Just spent a week at the Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel and they made us feel very comfortable from beginning to end. We travels during the Corona virus time and the hotel provided plenty of hand sanitizing stations to make sure we had clean hands. The morning breakfast was outstanding and the staff was first rate. The rooms were very nicely appointed and very comfortable. The staff cleaned our room daily and helped with any requests that we had. I would highly recommend this hotel for your next stay. If I ever return, I would book this hotel first. Right above the Tennoji Station, it was very convenient to catch a train to wherever you needed to go. We visited Tokyo and Kyoto with ease.

For me, the Marriot Osaka Miyako Hotel ranks among the best of hotels in Osaka without having to pay an exorbitant room rate.

Service was excellent, food was great and the room was very comfortable with everything you need including safe, air-con and iron. Location is very good, on top of Tennoji railway and subway station with close proximity to shops including the excellent Kintetsu Department Store.

High floors offer superb views both day and night. The electric toilet took time to master. The air-conditioning was somewhat poor as I could never get the temperature down to 'cold'. There was a Sharp plasma cluster air purifier in the room which was excellent - quiet and really effective.

Note that mask wearing and social distancing is still needed in the hotel which means that some tables for larger groups are unavailable.

I will certainly return next time I am in Osaka.

During our recent trip to Japan we stayed in accommodation ranging from 1 star to 5 star. This included a stay in two adjoining club level rooms on the 54th floor or the Osaka Marriott Miyako to celebrate my 40th birthday.

We arrived about midday, unsure if we could check in. We were unable to check in straight away (fine) but could leave our bags. No information was offered as to what time we could check in (i.e. 3pm, 5pm etc.).

We returned later in the afternoon (after 4pm) and went to check in from the club level area. The check in was sufficient, although took quite some time and wasn't very welcoming. In other hotels we have been offered a drink and a seat in the lounge whilst check in was completed. Here we sat at a desk, were handed our room pass and were then left to find the rooms ourselves.

The rooms in themselves were nicely appointed and beds comfortable. Views were amazing, although one room had a strong odour of smoke on arrival. An air purifier was provided by default and after jiggling with the settings, the strong smell dissipated by the next morning.

The rooms were quiet, the housekeeping effective and efficient. Breakfast at the club had quite limited Japanese or western options. A voucher to have buffet breakfast for one morning at Cooka was also offered, although this wasn't that much of an improvement - food offerings sufficient but not impressive.

We also visited the lounge for hors d'oeuvres and drinks each evening. The food offerings were once again quite limited and of very average quality, although the drinks were plentiful and lovely.

We semi regularly stay at the Sofitel Club level in Melbourne - the food in the club lounge is far superior. Also having stayed at other hotels for birthdays and anniversaries in the past I had thought I would at minimum be offered a verbal 'happy birthday' or even an 'enjoy your stay' from the staff as this costs nothing - an opportunity missed. Our other hosts across Japan were so friendly, polite and helpful this was surprising.

We loved Japan so much and will definitely be back, although probably not to the Osaka Marriott Miyako.

I usually stay at the Westin while on business as it is a nice property close to the Bullet Train, but this trip wanted to be within walking or close cab/train distance to the tourist areas as I had a day off.

The hotel is shiny and modern with unique room layouts and great views. The rooms were clean and well furnished. Very comfortable. My room had an interesting modern Japanese twist with a entrance area to remove shoes and enter to an elevated floor (though I suspect many foreigners would not bother removing their shoes)

Taxi drop off is inconvenient as they are required to circle the property, enter into the basement parking from where you take elevators. The hotel being located starting on floor 19. Coming off the elevators you still need to find your way to the check-in counter. Train access is very convenient as B1 links to many lines.

My room was on the same floor as the exec lounge and gym which made it convenient to get to each. However to get to the guest rooms one has to get off the elevator and walk "confusingly" around the corner. I then encountered what a cross-walk between the kitchen and exec lounge. Inevitably it was always a busy corridor and I had to slow down to not be knocked down in traffic. It felt as if I were entering the guest room area through the back of a kitchen access. The kitchen smells also permeated the hallways, while not unpleasant, I would say not what I expect of a 5 star hotel .

I would definitely stay here again but not on the exec floor.

The hotel located in the highest building in Japan,
totally worth the price (triple of normal basic room in Japan).
Staff is helpful, very attentive to our needs.
Hotel breakfast is good, with many choices of food, eggs are made upon order.
The view from the room is spectacular, day or night. The hotel also offers a free voucher for tickets to the sky building!
Will definitely come back for their views in the room, comfy bed!

Beautiful as expected from the Marriott brand.
We are a family of 5 (3 kids) and even though we booked for that many people (and paid per person) we were provided with two rooms and only 4 beds. However the rooms were interconnecting which was great.
They couldn’t provide a rollaway bed so we made do by pushing the singles together for 3 kids and that worked fine.
Maybe if you are a large family ring ahead to make sure they have the right room combination.
The staff were very polite and the rooms cleaned well everyday.
Every room had an amazing view.
Breakfast is continental so plenty of options for even fussy breakfast eaters.
It’s right above the tenoji station so use this stop if you’re coming from the airport and the lift takes you right up to reception on floor 19.
Definitely would stay at again.

A must visit and stay while you’re in Osaka. We both stayed in the club room high floor with this spectacular view of Osaka. Big room and amenities and the club lounge is fantastic. Staffs in the club lounge is super helpful when you need some information about day trip from Osaka etc. The hotel is above the Abeno Station which is direct train from the Osaka international airport

My wife and I took a bullet train from Tokyo to Osaka, which we had never visited before, but we managed to find the subway and take it ten stops to the station directly under this Marriott. We stayed on the 48th floor, and actually changed from the original assigned room because it was facing south, and we wanted to face north which, in my opinion, has a much more spectacular view of the city and surrounding area. The room is a bit small by American standards at 370 square feet, but had an excellent modern decor with soft bed and good shower and bathroom. The floor the ceiling windows provided that great view. And it was quiet. Never heard noise outside the room or from neighbors in the five nights we were there. The breakfast buffet, on the main lobby level of the 19th floor, was a huge room and lots of choices, but it cost us extra as our deal didn’t include breakfast. But the front desk gave us 20% off coupons, which was nice. All in all, I would stay here again if visiting Osaka, which turned out to be a great base to visit Kyoto, Nara, and Kobe, all less than an hour from the hotel via trains and metros.

We stayed in Marriott Osaka a few times the past few years and each time the stay is consistently nice. Concierge is really helpful in making advanced dining reservations for us each time. Hotel lobby is beautiful with an expansive view of Osaka. Breakfast selection is mediocre but the restaurant has a nice view. Underneath the hotel is Tennoji station and the hotel is also connected to Abeno Harukas with Kintetsu supermarket below and lots of dining selections. Overall very good value hotel and great service.

No, the windows do not open but the rooms have Sharp plasma cluster air purifiers which are very effective if left permanently switched on.
