We stayed to celebrate my husband's birthday and our wedding anniversary .... It was more comfortable than the Intercontinental hotels I have stayed at in Tokyo and Europe. The room on the residence floor was spacious enough for us to enjoy our short stay, including the kitchen and bathroom. I envy those who can "reside" in such a room!
It was our first anniversary as a couple and we had a hard time selecting the hotel for this special occasion. We ended up with IC Osaka and it was the perfect hotel! The services and facilities were truly world-class. We like the little details they put like the special greeting plate on breakfast. Special thanks to Kyota of reception for fulfilling all of our requests!
The memory of this wonderful hotel always in my heart, all the staff are so amicable and full of hospitality! Mr Jerome Palacoeur, Director of Rooms and Guest experience never fails to impress me with his sincere care to every detail to ensure the supreme quality of service. Definitely, I also stayed Shangarila, St Regis and other brands, but there is no hotel makes me feel homesick apart from Intercontinental Osaka! Happy New Year to Jerome and all staff! If I can go, I must see you all!
If I could give this hotel a 6th star, I would. While the entire staff was amazing, Yasuhide (Club Supervisor) went way beyond our expectation. We arrived at the hotel around 8:00 p.m. After dropping our things off in our room, we headed to the lounge for a little snack. Even though cocktail hour ended at 7:30 p.m., I was served a glass of wine and my husband was served his choice of ginger ale (Did you know there were different types of ginger ale-dry and sweet?). We were telling Yasuhide how we had jumped on the train right after work with only 3 minutes to spare, and he said, "Does this mean that you haven't eaten dinner?" By this time it was already 8:30 p.m. and the lounge closes at 9:00 p.m. but that didn't seem to bother Yasuhide. He went into the kitchen and returned with very elaborate bento boxes. At no time, did we feel rushed even when closing time approached. The rooms are well appointed. The bed was very comfortable with king size pillows. I really loved the bath tub and l'occitane bath gel. We also had a beautiful view of the sunset. Breakfast was over the top delicious! Eggs were made to order. Coffee, Cafe Latte, and cappuccino were made to order. However, the pastry selection was the star of the show-flaky layered pastries that would rival any patisserie in France. We also enjoyed the afternoon tea service which was delicious. While all this makes it sound like we never left the hotel, the location is close to Osaka station which makes exploring convenient.…
Great hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is our go to home away from home when visiting Osaka. The staff is very helpful, speak excellent English and always go out of their way to make our stay perfect. The rooms are spacious, especially for Asia, and very comfortable. The restaurant Pierre is delicious and Bar Adee makes a mean cocktail. Looking forward to our next stay!
Before the pandemic, my business took me to Osaka weekly and I stayed at a hotel in Osaka two nights a week for several years. InterContinental Hotel Osaka (“ICO”) delivers an exceptional level of service for the most frequent of business travelers – quick check-in and check-out, elevated access to guest services, staff that remember your name and preferences, etc. Throughout Osaka, no hotel treats business travelers better than ICO. Most recently, a major renovation at my apartment in Tokyo provided the opportunity to stay in a One Bedroom Deluxe Residence at ICO for an extended period of time with my family (wife and 14-month old son) in tow. This was not our first trip since COVID, however it was the first extended trip (5 weeks) when our son was just starting to walk and by the end of the month running so we were not sure what to expect. Before arrival, the staff actively worked to find the needs for our stay. They were especially helpful in providing information on things we weren’t thinking about like the availability of food in the city during a state of emergency. We arrived on February 28, 2021 and the staff helped us with our luggage and directed us to the parking area before getting us to our room after a long drive. After check-in, my wife asked guest services for another sanitization of the room while we took a walk and went out for dinner which they gladly did for us. This was our first trip with the baby at a western-style hotel (i.e. shoes on in the room) so my wife was concerned about the baby crawling on the floor as he was not yet fully walking yet. In fact, she asked the housekeeping staff to take their shoes off when they entered the room which they happily did every time. Speaking of housekeeping, the staff listened intently to all of our needs in addition to the shoes off request mentioned above. We didn’t want a full housekeeping team coming in and out of the room so we would ask for the trash be taken out only on certain days then full cleanings on other days. The staff also helped by washing our dishes without us even asking. My wife is originally from Osaka so her family came to the residence several times during our stay. The front desk staff recognized them and treated them like family of course! The highlight of the trip was when her mother and sister came to ICO for their first afternoon tea experience at a luxury hotel. Mom is in her 60s so we were concerned about her eating out in public during a pandemic. The staff felt assuaged our fears and offered to serve afternoon tea in our room! On top of that, the GM comped us a bottle of champagne to go with the tea sets 😊 A happy mother-in-law = happy guests. Towards the end of the trip my wife and I separately got massages at Meguri Spa & Wellness, the ICO’s on-site spa. This was the first time we got massages since the beginning of the pandemic, so there was some apprehension. However, once we arrived we could sense the staff was on top of our concerns. The staff set up the waiting area for appropriate social distancing and appointment times to allow entry and exit without feeling like there were a lot of people there. We originally were set to check out and return to Tokyo on March 31, however we were enjoying Osaka so much that we extended at ICO until April 4. The staff at ICO played a big part in helping us feel comfortable enough to spend another 4 nights away from home when in normal times we would be longing to stay in our own beds. Thank you so much ICO for the fantastic 5 weeks in Osaka. We hope we can do it again soon!…
I stayed here for one night for a relaxing night away by myself. I am a busy Mum with 2 young children, so this was a little treat for me to take some time out by myself for one night. I took a lot of time to think about where I wanted to stay. And I am so glad that out of all the hotels I researched, I chose the Intercontinental. It was absolutely wonderful! The staff are friendly and professional.....everyone I encountered was so helpful and lovely. A very high level of customer service. I did not eat at the restaurants (although I am sure they are fantastic!). However, I did order room service. The meals were delivered quickly and were hot and delicious. The room was outstanding for cleanliness and was neat and tidy. Everything was fully sanitised, modern and beautifully presented. Impeccable attention to detail. The one bedroom suite is very spacious with a walk-in-wardrobe and beautiful, full-size deep bath. Location wise, the hotel is right in the main shopping area of Umeda. So many shops and restaurants right outside of the hotel. I cannot fault my stay at Intercontinental. Everything was impeccable. I will be coming back, for sure!…
Great hotel. Great staff. We had a wonderful time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. In particular we loved the restaurant Pierre. Michael Adjoute was very helpful and he recommended a super okonomiyaki restaurant in Osaka for lunch the next day. A super stay.
I stayed with my daughter then enjoyed HOTEL weekends. Hotel stuff service is excellent as usual and enjoyed hotel facilities --- Swing pool and Japanese style big bath "OFURO" --it's amazing, have really relaxed time. We also enjoyed "Afternoon Tea" at Club lounge.. it's fantastic and my daughter loves it very much and I'm impressed that club lounge staff are also very kind and professional service...
fantastic hotel with amazing views over Osaka, constantly changing light show in the sky with clouds, sunrise and sunset. Hotel has wonderful unique architecture and design, and the service is excellent. In this very difficult time of virus crisis, Hotel team put all their energy into providing fantastic service. Had a great time and wonderful food!
