The style of our hotel is reminiscent of the luxury and warm atmosphere of a European mansion, all with the magnificent view of a high-rise building. The decor is based on a floral theme, and each room decorated as richly as a suite. In addition, we have a full range of facilities including restaurants and banquet halls offering highly unique menus.

This is a lovely hotel, we had a small but nicely fitted out room except there was no real room 2 suitcases) on the 32nd floor with great views of Osaka. It had quite a few niche restaurants and a small bakery shop on the 1st floor.
Unfortunately as tourists we would have appreciated a breakfast buffet style for early in the mornings, but only offered set european style breakfasts at Malmaison for early risers. On the whole it was a lovely hotel with lovely staff but more aimed at the wedding and celebrations market

Very nice hotel with impeccable service!
Also practical rooms with all kinds of amenities, the lighting in the bathroom might be a bit brighter though 😉
Food is also delicious and above all, very fresh! It took some time to get used to ordering through tablet, we are not used to that but after all, it was a very nice experience.

Fantastic luxury hotel. Great service.
Only feedback is to have better coffee in the room. Small thing. We went to the Starbucks downstairs every day.

The view was amazing. Great view of the city

Location was really good. No buffet for breakfast. But quality at a la carte was excellent. Room service was also very good. We stayed in junior suite which was amazing. View from room was awesome. Only issue was language . Communication was difficult.

The conference I was attending was supposed to arrange single occupancy accommodation in a nearby 4* hotel but the organiser turned out to be a crook who took money from the delegates and his employers (a large US corporation) and booked multiple occupancy rooms in a 1* hostel. On finding this out, having already arrived in Osaka at the hostel I used their free WiFi to book a the Hankyu International’s last available room for 2 nights (got a great deal too!).

Having only to cross the road I arrived at an immaculately clean, superbly designed hotel with charming and efficient staff.

My spacious room on the 31st floor had superb views, a comfy bed, huge TV, marble bathroom with all the expected toiletries and more! The other highlight of this hotel is its superb patisserie with cakes, pastries and petit fours that taste as good as they look!

Simply could not fault anything about this hotel and would whole heartedly recommend it to anyone visiting Osaka for business or pleasure.

What an atrocious experience and memory of our stay in Hankyu International and we will be sure to never return!

On arrival check-in was booked for 2pm though they were delayed and check-in pushed back to 3pm. On return to the hotel we were taken to our floor though we're not informed they had put us in smoking rooms. Traveling with my pregnant wife and father in law with a heart condition I politely requested we head back to reception and be assigned new rooms. Immediately we were told by reception they could not accommodate our request as they were at max capacity.

So here in lies a problem which makes or breaks a customer experience and in this scenario boiled down to a lack of staff experience which poorly represented the brand and hotel chain and made sure we never return and also share our experience with millions.

The original suggested solution from reception and concierge was to refund our money and we exit the hotel in search for new accommodation as they couldn't accommodate our request for two non-smoking rooms and "it wasn't their responsibility to find us new accommodation". If I put this in context, it was about 8pm when we returned to the hotel, with a pregnant wife and exhausted parents, in a foreign country, during peak cherry blossom season in Japan. We had also pre-booked accommodation in October-14 with direct email correspondence from the hotel who never suggested smoking or non-smoking options for rooms. We are used to traveling world wide where smoking or non-smoking is no longer an option hence didn't query this in our reservation.

With this suggestion, lack of customer service or care of well being, you can just imagine what transpired. With due respect, I blew my lid and demanded they get behind their counter and start ringing every hotel in Osaka to relocate us if they couldn't accommodate us. After a few hours of back and forth they finally found us a single twin bed non-smoking room and one king bed smoking room in Hankyu. Given every other hotel in Osaka was booked out we reluctantly accepted their proposal. We will be moved to two non-smoking twin rooms for the rest of our stay as there are no King beds available.

From this experience I truly hope Hankyu learn from this poor customer experience for future guests and travelers!

I stayed here one night and as a non Japanese, this hotel is a nightmare. Indications are only in Japanese, most of the staff only speaks Japanese. The rooms are very nice and stylish and the hotel leaves you with a positive first impression, though for the following reasons, I will not be back :

`the hotel is very noisy when you have a room at the side of the train tracks. I stayed on the 33th floor and even at this height, the noise of the trains is on, 24hours a day. If you are not used to it, don't even consider it. Maybe the other side of the hotel is much better.

`the hotel should have a gym (checked at reservation). Though, the gym is closed for the moment. Nobody tells you this, it is not indicated. You stand completely dressed in front of the door to do your morning work out (gym usually opens at 7h30 am which is usually anyway to late for me), to find out that there is no gym.

`internet is good and fast, though it can take a while before you are connected. You need to activate and navigate yourself through the television screens (good luck in Japanese) in order to obtain an access code. The best is to call the reception and ask a staff member to get it done. With some luck, this person will understand your english and know what you mean.

`there is no international power plug in the room and the adaptors are rare. The very helpful staff managed to get one for me and bring it to the room. Thank you.

Overall, the staff is doing their best, though most of the time, you are lost in translation. No international plugs, no gym and too much of a struggle for a non Japanese like me, does not make it a hotel option for my future visits in Osaka.

The Hotel Hankyu is a beautiful hotel in the Umeda section of Osaka. It occupies the top few floors of a skyscraper, which means that rooms have fabulous views of Osaka and beyond. Rooms are quite large for Japan, with large windows so that you can enjoy the view. The bathrooms are huge as well, with both a bathtub and shower. In-room internet is also free.

Guests have the option of taking breakfast in either an American or Japanese style restaurant. The American breakfast is served (not buffet), and plentiful. The orange juice is even freshly squeezed. It opens at 7am, though, which makes it tough if you're trying to make an early flight. The room service menu is also varied. The one time that I did order room service, though, the waiter apologized profusely the entire time he was moving the food into the room (saying I'm sorry over and over again) for reasons that weren't quite obvious.

I'm sorry to say that my standards for Japanese hotels are rather low, given the proliferation of expensive hotels with tiny rooms and restaurants that serve mediocre imitations of non-Japanese food. The Hotel Hankyu International is a refreshing change from this.

First, I'll get the good in. The hotel is ideally located 5mins away from Umeda station with tonnes of shopping and restaurants just minutes away.
The service was ok as we were largely taken care of throughout the stay. A slight disappointment was not having our rooms ready at 230pm but it is noted that their check in time is 3pm. The concierge recommendation of restaurants were awful but maybe we weren't also completely clear on what we wanted or maybe there was a language problem.
I specifically sought out hotels with large gyms and for my stay, the gym was closed on the first day of my visit, without notice. Never mind, so I prefer to work out early in the morning before my day's chore and headed down to the gym at 6am only to find that they don't open until 730am and had regular closing times throughout the day. Maybe this is a Japanese custom but I never had this problem with all of the hotels I stayed at in Tokyo.
The rooms were good sized although the deco maybe aging a little but everything was working. One of my biggest problem was that all the rooms were smoking room - they all smell of years of smoke tainted wall paper and carpet. Yes, this was all of the room because we had a group taking three rooms.
So yes, it maybe a little harsh to give 1* but based on these two things alone, I cannot justify me paying for a high end 5* hotels and getting motel type amenities and smoked filled room.

I am reminded of why I always book international chain of hotels when travelling overseas because of their consistent standard and ability to communicate in English.

I had made a reservation at the hotel using Hotel Travel.com [please do not use this website] and due to poor communication, both my request for a twin bed and non-smoking room was not arranged. Despite explaining to them the reason for the request for a non-smoking room, being that my travel companion was allergic to smoke and will be very unwell, the hotel manager insisted that there were no non-smoking rooms available in the entire hotel [unbelievable!!]. The only thing they could offer is a smoking but a twin room. We accepted it reluctantly. My travel companion had to wear a face mask to sleep throughout the 3 nights.

To make matters worst, we received a hand written note under our door upon our return to the hotel room on the second night, requesting us to pay JPY6,000 extra per night for the twin room - reason being that our room rate was for a double room. I immediately went down to the lobby and reasoned with the hotel manager on duty. In the first place, we were never told we needed to pay extra for the twin room which was offered to us voluntarily. After speaking to the manager for almost 1 hour, she finally agreed to waive the charges.

When I have taken requests such as non-smoking room and twin beds for granted at most international hotels, I was given a rude shock and awakening after my experience with Hankyu. I am reminded that even if the hotel size and amenities are comparable to that of international hotels, the standard of service is no where near. With this bad experience, I will definitely NEVER stay in this hotel again.

Hi, TripAdvisor won’t let me send you the address as it includes HTML characters?? Try: Concierge1 @ Hhi . Co . Jp Hope this makes sense. We stayed there in March and this is the email we used to arrange an airport transfer so I’m sure they will be able to assist Regards T

There is a contact site where you can send an email, however it is in the Japanese site. It doesn't seem like they provide a contact form in English. As others have said, the best way is to call them but if you can manage to read or manage to get to the Japanese site's "contact us" then there is a form where you can contact them via internet email. (Sorry, I tried to copy the URL but tripadvisor does not allow links to be included) As much as I would love to help, sorry I cannot give you better information.
